Hoo boy. I'm so glad everybody took the time they did to RP. I know it was a fight for some of you; thanks for letting me know when you found the time to do so that there were troubles. I honestly appreciate it. It's nice to know where your pieces fit even if they aren't where you expected them to be, and much easier to book a show when you know firmly where your peoples stand. As I said after the deadline hit, there were a LOT of close calls on the card. As I'm writing this I honestly don't have any of the results finalized yet; just the order of most of the FSC eliminations. Even that was tough to pencil in, but since Craig was so generous in writing the hardest match on the card I wanted to give him as much time as possible. I can tell that most of you did your best. Those that didn't likely did the best they could under the circumstances. I appreciate that. I'm happy to have all of you in FIW and you've made my first PPV cycle as GM since Sid stepped down a very relaxing one. That being said, there's going to be a lot of constructive feedback in this thread, directly from me. Some of it's going to be the kind of thing you don't really want to hear, and that can often lead to internet shouting matches. It's certainly the last thing I want to happen, but... such is the nature of working in an e-fed. I'll try to remain non-specific to avoid directly "calling people out", hopefully that will soften the blow. It's stuff we can all learn from, or at least could benefit from being reminded of, so I'm OK if some of it misses the mark. At least a few things were lessons I had to remind myself of this cycle. If your opponent posts a valid OOC reason why they've been away from the boards, it's not cool to continue to sell their characters as absentee, unreliable, or what have you. We've all had unexpected stuff pop up that kept us from roleplaying our characters, and if it hasn't happened yet it will someday. Using it as an opportunity to make their character look bad is in poor taste. If you'd been doing it earlier in the week before they made their reasons public, stopping once they've done so shows integrity on your part. I'd rather you as a handler have integrity than your character remain 100% consistent in what they're selling. The Dual Crown Championship is (theoretically) the title held by the best writer in the fed at that time. The fact that the DC is constantly in dispute should tell you that at some point, someone out there is better than you. That said, there's a greater gulf of difference between some of us than there are others. I love your passion, I love your dedication, and I love your energy. Keep that up. But if you find yourself repeatedly losing matches, look at what other people are writing, and perhaps more importantly HOW other people are writing to improve your work. Don't be hasty, and don't type angry. Don't force something that you're not. I have a hard time writing "normal" people... so I don't. I could never write the Brick Sharks. Every time I try, it's hollow and emotionless. Lita, however, writes them with aplomb. Don't try so hard to make your character something you're not. Write what you know. Be honest, and elevate yourself with observation and practice. If a door doesn't open when you use the key, you try a different key. You don't just jam the same key in harder. We all tend to put forward more effort come PPV time; titles are on the line, everything is more exciting, the stakes are generally higher. Sometimes we get spurts of energy or time, or we just finally have something worth talking about so we go nuts. It happens, and it's usually GREAT! I love seeing that kind of dedication and passion. However, when your output during non-title matches is consistently significantly lower than your output when the belt is on the line it seems opportunistic. The key word there is 'consistently'; like I said, sometimes we get excited. Sometimes we have a windfall of time and inspiration. But when it happens every time an "important" match comes up like clockwork it seems less like a lucky strike and more like hedging your bets and tailoring your efforts. It's meta-game thinking like intentionally deadline bombing so your opponent can't reply, or pretending you suck to lure someone into a false sense of security. It isn't fair. Don't do it. I hope that was vague enough to avoid offending anyone too terribly, but useful enough that some of the problems we've been experiencing don't continue to be problems. Anywho... The biggest surprise is probably the substitution for the tag-team match. Lita sent me a PM suggesting that if the judges thought the Coulter Crew should win, let them take it. And, indeed, all three of the people who sent their info also sent along regrets about how much effort Kim and Stephen put out being hampered by Adam's unintentional no-show. I had no problem awarding the titles to the Crew, but I can't in good conscience give a title to Adam for no-showing, even if it was due to circumstances beyond his control. It sets a shitty precedent. It was decided separately that Johnny Amazing was winning the UIC, so I decided to sub in Nathaniel and give the guys a pair of titles that they greatly deserve. Congrats! I think that's all I've got. Thanks, everyone who wrote a match (Craig, Lita, me) and for everyone who wrote a promo (Matt, me) and to every single person who RPed for this event. Fun PPV, if not very hard to call. Thots? |

I didn't get full feedback this week, and that's fine. I gave a little more myself, and a lot of the feedback I'd give is "you guys did great" anyhow. However, I did have this sent in, so I felt I'd post it for them and retain the delightful anonymity while still being able to give the feedback. Here ya go. Mad Dawg: Bubble Bobble OR The Mountain Reading this rp it’s clear that this is the Mad Dawg response to events that occurred on ReVolt and he isn’t doing it in a gloating way. In the past you could accuse Mad Dawg of doing that far too much, the evolution of the character has meant that he isn’t just telling you what happened, he’s telling you why. That’s a positive, it’s connecting the shows and it ensures everything exists as part of the ongoing narrative. Marc is flashing a bit of leg in this roleplay, he’s putting out a few statements, not too many but enough for Seph to respond to. If Seph wants he can go down the list of Mad Dawg’s comments and answer each one, about the tag match or whether he truly wants to be ‘the man’. It’s a solid start to his week and I appreciate his efforts here. Cage Murdock: Just Like You Before I read this I was very excited for it, a motivated Seph is exceptional but reading he had personal issues it was going to be difficult for him and I tapered my expectations. I’m aware that sounds heartless, it’s meant from a ppv roleplaying perspective. It doesn’t start well, I feel he’s getting drawn in to talking about the wrong thing. There was a lot of material to go at in the Mad Dawg rp so it is understandable, he’s just gone for the wrong element. Things pick up when he starts talking about the future, that’s what this is about. Him deserving a title shot is good stuff, focus on that. He’s got where he is due to winning a big match with some tough opponents, not enough has been made of that. Things really pick up from the last three paragraphs of big speech, that’s fire and purpose. Mad Dawg: Legacy Marc has developed a very solid method of connecting the dots, moving between events and getting the most out of them. On paper it doesn’t look brilliant that his two opponents from Rise of a Legend left the company immediately but Mad Dawg is turning this to his favour, and not in a way that is insulting to them - which is a credit to him. It’s the difference here between Mad Dawg getting the most out of Neo & Mungrel compared to Cage not getting enough out of the way he effected the Rougarou, leading to his match with Mad Dawg. Seph’s response is sort, I assume deadline affected. There’s something there, it just needs developing and time appears to have stopped that. |

Shows up promptly; yay. Thanks to all the writers on that. Possibly for the best, that business in the twitter thread looks like it was getting a little too... This unfriendly rivalry between Sakura and Mercedes has been so much fun for me; and it seems like it's all become MAXIMUM AWK in the last few days with Britt, which is going to be good, even if I'm going to have to bust out all the big guns, because it's Lita. (I don't even know what the big guns even are, after this.) In the match, loved the use of the Jujigatame to get over the difference between the two in the closing stretch: the 'clean break' and the big slam afterwards. Speaking of Lita, I've literally never seen anyone do so much good work to help characters (ie. Kim and the Blue Label boys) in matches against their own characters (the Sharks and Johnny;) although I'm sure Kim can/will claim the Tag Title win as her own. Speaking of Lita, again, the replacements for the FIW logo this week are really very tasty. Rest of the show was grand. The stuff before the first elimination in the FSC match was the good kind of silly, before it all started getting serious. I'm all for Faygo mist and lightsaber duels. |

Considering that: 1. I took forever to come up with a promo idea, 2. I didn't get it done until 2:30 AM on the last day, 3. I was tired enough to forget much of what I was going to put in, and 4. I had to work during the deadline, so I could not reply properly to at least two promos (the bit at the end of Riot's was more me panicking), I'm surprised I actually did that well. And I could have sworn that Krueger was going to win where Craig had been on point. |

The show was awesome and I loved Kendo fight between Katsu and Kira. I do wish I had gotten more content in due to the fact the first and only RP I posted was supposed to be a trilogy in which Katsu would end up in the match. Good News though, I finally graduated and I'm done with High School... FOREVER! |

I haven't had a chance to read through the show yet but I just wanted to pop in and apologize for my lack of RP's for the PPV. Like I had said in an earlier post I had an RP 3/4 of the way done but by the time I had gone to finish it, several people had replied to the thread deeming everything I RP'd pretty much irrelevant. I didn't have time to start over and life in general just was too busy for me to pump anything else out. With that said I've asked for a 2 week hiatus in hopes that life slows down a little and I can recharge my creative batteries a little bit. However, during that time I will be evaluating how much time I truly have for e-fedding, as life and kids need to come first. As many of you know I work a very demanding work schedule which often leaves me exhausted at the end of my day, on top of that many of you know that I've had a very interesting personal life that keeps rearing it's ugly head, and to top all of that I am shuttling my girls to volleyball 5 days a week which absorbs a lot of my time. I truly hope that it works out that I can stay because I have so many friends here, which is the main reason why I am at FIW in the first place. |

Craig kicked ass and I'm so glad he took the match. DC has been lacking in big matches which i feel has damaged the scene a little. But alas, we do our best. I understand Wights sentiments, having wrote the promo over a span of time, its not as refined and polished as i hope it would have been and some parts are weaker because some days were better or worse than others. All in all, good show. Congrats to winners and good job to those who kept the RP board lively! And to be honest, if Mad Dawg gonna be that kind of heel he gonna get xpac heat, from me at least. He kind of messed up my dynamic because I was bouncing between being the good guy, the bad guy and ended up just being the guy. I dunno, kind of see the character differently and it ain't positive. I still respect Marc but some things he said legit made me start grumbling behind my phone wishing i had a laptop so i could verbally obliterate him. |

Credit for the big spot in the main event should go to Seph, in the same vein I take no credit for the FSC battle royal - it should go to all the participants because it was their weapon ideas that led to the majority of the spots and Wight gave me the order of elimination, and by whom. I'm finding this current tour of FIW somewhat odd. In the past I've hardly ever cared about wins and losses, I just like storytelling and doing angles. Any titles I've ever won, to my memory, came about because of the stories, it made sense to win the Dual Crown because it was part of the story. There was always a competitive element and judging but it just flowed, to me. Part of the reason Nightmare has a World Championship reign is because it made sense to me as part of the story and I insisted on dropping the belt. The last two shows have been in contrast with that because I've really cared about the results and it's been ultra-competitive. I hope Wight won't mind me saying, he PM'd me the FSC results as early as he could but he held back the last elimination and I was quite elated to still be in contention. I was then gutted to get the final result a few hours later. The only times I've ever been gutted before is when I lost the tag titles to S-Neo and then when I lost the Dual Crown to Mun, mostly because it spoiled the story. I don't know if Wight is referencing me up there with the inconsistency in non-title/title matches but I think some of it does apply to me. Originally the rp involving Clay was going to be split into two but it worked better as one. The motivation for two roleplays was for more volume, but as I say it didn't really work. I'm glad Seph enjoyed the DC match. It was a difficult one because the build up (for one reason or another) was fairly weak. I quite enjoyed writing it and perhaps the failings (again, for several reasons) of the last month can be rectified with Zombie Black challenging and it again being announced well in advance. In other results not surprised to see Dai retain the Hellcats Championship or Johnny win UIC, couldn't have predicted the tag titles and I should say that The Boy was good with Kursur as always, as was Sticky. I wish I'd have included more Juggs/Kursur stuff but I did try to keep them away from each other. |

Oh definitely, I think we've all done that from time to time. I know I have. Usually I doubt it's even a conscious thing, it's just that when PPV time comes around a lot of us go full 'maximum effort'. Important thing it to not drop to minimum effort in between, something I also fully admit to doing unintentionally sometimes. Shit with Mr. Intensity I did it so much I had to make it part of the character's gimmick in order to get my head around fixing it. I loved this show, the battle royal was so much fun to read and I thought everyone got a good chance to shine, which can get lost in a big match like that, so damn fine work. Also Craig, let me echo Sticky from earlier in the thread, because I could have sworn you were going to win. I'm super happy about retaining don't get me wrong, but dang I thought I was a goner this time. The tag title match result was a good surprise, and an excellent way to pivot around a problem, so kudos there. I love Wiggly Sakura-chan! Dai please, I know you said a while ago you were going to 'fix' her entrance, don't. The Hellcats division was super fun to read this week, I'm becoming as much of a fanboy towards Bisenshi Sakura as I usually am about Dai's characters, and it's grand. |

Wiggly Sakura-chan isn't going to change any time soon, I was going to tweak her entrance slightly to include the belt, which I still need to do; although since I had her appear in her NS whites, I really should have gone for a variation on the NS Rinko Revolution entrance. CLAMP is one of the three pillars of Sakura's fangirldom, along with Sentai villains and girls who dress like boys. I'm really enjoying Kursur in FIW. I think at times in NGIW, mainly running his feuds with Wight, it seemed like there was a lot of stuff being referenced that I didn't always feel privy to; but without that, he's been glorious. EDIT: And I have absolutely no idea what this has to do with anything, but I've literally only now learned who Intensity's rep actually is. For years, I just assumed it was Christian Laettner. |

Wow a really great show and a really nice surprise to see the show up so early. I had to force myself not to read the results while I was at work and somehow I pulled it off. But holy shit-snacks I'm really surprised I won. The Cage RP was really good and I was really scrambling to try to match it and I really didn't think I did. Just to call out the elephant in the room, I was definitely not trying to give Seph a hard time for this RP period atleast at the end. I honestly didn't even see his post until the deadline day (I've missed a lot of OOC stuff over the past few months including a number of birthdays and other announcements that I feel like shit for always missing.) so I tried to direct the subject from being about this last RP period and into more about the overarching issue of being ignored nearly the whole time since RoaL. I do apologize to you Seph if I did start getting a little more vicious towards the end. The Vi tweet kinda screwed with me the whole week and I tried like hell to let it wash off my back because I figured I'd save all my fire to respond to the Cage reply. But then came the Zombie Black RP and it turned into friggin' Defcon 1 so I decided to take the gloves off and defend myself. Trust me, I was not making any sort of heel turn or garner heat with anyone but who I responded to. And then you came in while I was still semi-hot and that combined with trying to hurry to get it up in time turned into a pretty visceral response. And then the Twitter stuff came and yeah I had to kind of tie myself down at the end (you don't know how bad I wanted to point out they're both the same age when you said something about Mad Dawg being a teenager :D) cause I wasn't sure if I was cutting too deep already. Anyways back to the match, top-notch job by Craig that really had me on the edge of my seat on who was going to pull off the win. I was so scared it was going to turn into a fifteen minute brawl and only like a thirty second match so I was very happy that it was just a precursor to a really good match. I think Mad Dawg heeled it up a little too much, but I probably did make it seem like I was hinting at it too much the last couple days and somehow Mad Dawg's profile ended up getting lost and the only one available was a heel profile so I've got to find a way to put together a new profile cause that one is WAY out of date. |

Good show all around! I'm bummed about the tag title loss but I recognize the insane effort Bleak has been putting in with all of his characters and for one reason or another things just don't seem to be lining up for him lately. It was an unfortunate situation with Adam this week, otherwise I think Eversol and Helena both would have claimed a much deserved title victory. It's the reason that I messaged Wight about potentially subbing Nathaniel back in if the judges felt as strongly about Eversol's content this week as I had. I didn't want Wight to feel compelled to slight Eversol again due to circumstances and I also didn't want him afraid of changing up my match behind my back or anything like that. Plus, this rewards Nathaniel who has really found his footing again after a slight stumble following the DC loss. So, while I am most definitely bummed (really would have loved to have the Sharks as champs in that Termico), I completely understand why the title change happened and can even agree with it. A little surprised about the UIC, to be honest. I felt much more confident in the stuff I did for Johnny at Nensai Senjou against Kursur and at Legend against Zombie than I did for this particular event. So, figuring out what I did this cycle to deserve this win is going to be tough... Haha. I'm certainly grateful for the victory, so don't get it twisted. I just really was expecting Nathaniel to take it and the Sharks to keep the Tag belts, if I'm being perfectly honest. Hellcats stuff was fun this week and I had some fun writing the match. Bleak and Dai both came to me with some good ideas of how they wanted their characters portrayed in this match. I feel like I really get Mercedes and I'm starting to get Sakura (I think). Super freaking nervous about having to go up against Sakura for the title now that I'm seeing everyone fangirl over her in this thread. Not that it isn't warranted, but damn. Not exactly feeling confident. Lol. |
