Well that was a little bit more frantic than it needed to be. The delay has been more related to the new card because it's been discussed tonight while writing the Rumble so every time I came away from that, I then had to get back 'in' to figure out who was in and where they were. At one point I nearly abandoned my written list to move to little plastic counters because that would have been easier. I'll be staggered if there's not a mention of somebody in the ring who shouldn't be. I definitely swapped the Brick Sharks around so you may see a Claudel or a Torres the wrong way around.

Matches: Dai, Rob, Lita & Craig
Promos: Lita, Wight (shocking, I know) Bob & Craig

That was a lot of fun to write, all the matches in fact. I should quantify, Lita wrote the six-person tag, Dai the Hellcats tag and Rob the Welcome to FIW match.

Unfortunately this week Matt has had to take a hiatus, meaning the finish to the Rumble is the way it is (beyond the winner) and the promos around that. It seems like there’s some sort of Coulter Crew curse with first Steve and now Matt, but Nate, Lita and Bleak look settled!

Spoiler: click to toggle

A lot of really good performances that hopefully translated into good showings during the Rumble. I personally liked Freakshow, Jericho Cruz and Richlen beyond the winner. Several no-shows along the show as well, I’ve looked beyond Adam’s because it’s unusual, we knew about Matt and Otaku ahead of time.

The Erik Holland vs. Stephen J. Eversol match featured some incredible roleplays, was put to me as main event worthy and I did consider moving it to recognise that but I couldn’t make it work with Darian being picked up by the ambulance at Matt’s request. Will has had fits-and-starts with returns in the past but I’m really hoping this is a turned corner. He fits in so well with the new elevated status for the FSC and much like the Nick Riot vs. Richlen match that just exploded in quality a couple of months ago, this for me is the same situation. The finish is ambiguous by design, a rematch should happen on a grander scale, exactly as Riot vs. Richlen did.

Thoughts?

EDIT: I'm just going to delay the new card until the morning (my time), which is about 8 hours. I want to give some extra thought to a couple of matches, as we end the 'competitive roleplay' portion of our year, I feel it warrants the brief delay.

Thanks to Craig, Lita and Dai for writing all the matches. I hope mine did justice to the combatants. Also thanks to everyone that role-played during the week and for the show. I can't imagine how hard those multi-person matches are to write especially with that many folks. It came out great and Craig should be proud of himself.

Crystal Blade strikes again! This is a great feud for me to be involved in and if Father Pike had any hair left he would be pulling it out :D

Grats to The Dream for winning the Rumble. I believe I said last week that when you don't win for a while it doesn't mean it's because of something on your end. All the people here are so vital and so well-tuned that it is never easy to pick a winner.

Cheers to everyone else on another wonderful week of hard work.

Been looking forward to this all day, and I was glad to say I wasn't disappointed. A lot of great surprises! This would've been one hell of a shocking TV show to watch. The matches were really well-written, I dug what went down with all of my characters, and I feel like I should have a lot to write about going forward.

Looking forward to the card.

Anyone who can write something as confusing as a rumble and keep me up to speed on who is still present gets huge kudos from me. I was worried it was going to be a complete cluster, but it was actually super cool, super suspenseful, and was a really fun read.

The Fighting Spirit match was awesome. The Coulter Crew antics are crazy as usual, and I loved Johnny and the Brick Sharks coming in and giving them what for in the ring. All in all, awesome promos.

I did also love the six man tag. It was fantastic. All in all, this week was really top of the line in personalizing these characters and letting their backstories and personalities shine in the matches and promos. Also, I'm super glad to be getting such good feedback from you all.

It sucks that some people are out, but this was a great show.

Yay Brittany won! Boo Kim was mean to Brittany. Vampire Cage will save the day *Cage bursts into dust at Helena's paleness* damn.

Riveting show, Stellarrrr pacing. Craig has a knack for making his writing work out like a show and the way everything transitioned so seamlessly it was an effort worth applauding. Kudos kudos! Didn't see that Rumble result coming, thought for sure Freakshow or Stephen had, gotta love results that keep ya guessing!

Dang the Coulter Crew is by far the strongest they've ever been! They are certaintly a force to be reckoned with and definitely sit atop the perch of top heel group. Be nice to see the faces align and try to thwart em, it'll be a tough hurdle to jump though with the likes of them being so top caliber.

Thanks again for another great show writers. Love staying amused with my FIW fix. Keep up the great work staff and members alike! You're all doing great!

Gotten a chance to gloss the show so far, loved my match and the ReVolt Rumble was INCREDIBLE, including the winner and aftermath.

I love where you went with the match, Craig, I think Bleak and I were neck and neck in terms of roleplays. I want to run with this idea of Erik stealing the pipe from Darian Gray too. I am feeling really good with Erik and feeling like I've found my stride with him again. Feels like the old days.

Wow, that was another great show! Like Wight said, all the results gave me some good material to use for RP’s. I’m looking forward to seeing the card for the upcoming show.

I was worried my last RP, “History 101” was too late to respond to. Hopefully, that wasn’t the case. I had to post it cause it all came to mind very easily and I had so much to say with Alexander there. Glad Alexander got the W in that match.

The promo from Craig with Orion in scramble mode at the top of the show was a good way to show how much of a threat the Coulter Crew really could be. It was also a great way of setting things up for the eventual turning point (see what I did there? :P) at the end of the show with Clay.

When Jonathan Hitchen mentioned Xenia had an undefeated streak, I went back to see how far back it went. It’s crazy she was on a tear and April Lynn managed to put an end to that. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how Xenia reacts and how things go for her from here.

Nice promo from Freakshow as he headed to the ReVolt Rumble later in the night. He may be a newcomer from Rising, but he’s obviously learning very quickly how to try and get in the heads of your opponents the way he tried with Eversol. Lol.

That was cool to see Sakura using her winning ways even in a tag team environment. Lol. I liked the storyline elements added to that match between Paris and Olivia. It’ll be cool to see what builds from that, especially given that they lost that match.

Short but sweet promo from Wight with Beezlebob. It’s awesome how, with just a few lines of dialogue from Bob and equally as much description and narration, Wight conveyed a complete picture to visualize that promo. I’m intrigued to see who Bob signed! Lol.

I totally agree the Eversol/Holland match was main-event caliber just with the RP’s alone. Both Bleak and Will knocked it out of the park with their RP’s and the match showcased that as well. I agree with Will that they were both neck and neck, so the finish was perfect to show that as well. It really sucks that Matt had to take a hiatus cause I was hoping we’d finally get to work together. So close to seeing it this time! Lol. Here’s hoping the hiatus doesn’t last too long, though, and we can finally see Alexander and Darian working together in some capacity.

That intergender match was bad ass. It was a great mix of high fly and brawling and it’s cool to see Brittany get a pin over Helena. It’ll be interesting to see how Helena bounces back from that one, especially after the pin from Crystal as Hitchen pointed out at the end there.

The post-match promo involving the Coulter Crew was equally as bad ass. They should have known going back to the well a second time, this time against Brittany wouldn’t fare well for them! Lol. The small, subtle things like Eversol holding back, Johnny going straight for Eversol, and the Sharks having to double-team Alexander were awesome. Great ways to advance storylines and, in the case of Alexander’s character, put over his size compared to the Sharks.

That main event ReVolt Rumble was absolutely amazing! Hats off to Craig for writing that whole thing and being able to keep track of all the eliminations and such. It was awesome to see it come down to Dream and Eversol in the end and I’m sure Dream taking the win over him will give Eversol a lot to say in the coming days. Judging by the RP’s it seems everybody in that match except Darian had a bone to pick with Eversol. Lol. The promo that followed that with Clay turning on Orion and siding with the Coulter Crew was completely unexpected and I loved the way that played out seeing Orion, apparently, distraught and incensed over it.

All in all, a great show and I'm really looking forward to seeing all these stories and things progress further in the next one!

Meant to also say, thank you judges for using Bob as a surrogate for Zombie. The manager had plenty to say, but the wrestler really didn't and I was worried somebody was gonna be a stickler and be like "DOESN'T COUNT, WIGHT DIDN'T RP, RARGLEBLARGLE!" I know this week wasn't exactly a knock-it-out-of-the-park effort, but I did what I could with what I had while not... I dunno, going overboard? I didn't think I was winning the match going into it, nor did I really need to. At the same time, it's disrespectful to the other people involved not to give it a real effort, so I wanted to have a good showing.

Thanks for the feedback, Nate!

I hope everybody enjoys reading the ReVolt Rumble, I do worry about that sometimes. One of the things I promised myself when saying I would help out was that I’d try to make things as fun as possible for everybody, including myself. I’m under no illusions, eventually be it a few months or longer somebody more committed or more creative and generally better will come along and I’ll respectfully step down, at that point it’s important for me to be able to look back at the fun stuff like writing the Wildcard and Rumbles, the Deadlocked Series. They’ve all been fun, for me at least. If you aren’t having fun, let me know and we’ll try to change that if at all possible.

Thank you as always for the creative ideas that come from roleplays, although some go too close to the bone. Having planned the Crew to appear at the end of the Brittany match for a couple of weeks, to then read it happening in Wight’s roleplay was a spit-take moment if there ever was one. Little things really help, especially with something like the Rumble. I tried to get as much storyline stuff as I could in; Pike/Crystal, Pike/Kira, Sharks/LOS, Crew vs. Holland/Richlen etc. In hindsight I wouldn’t have had Clay number 1, I had a misconstrued idea that by effectively taking him out of play it would leave Bleak, Hayden, Matt and the likes to fight over the win. The lengthy tours by Erik Holland and Feakshow are hopefully recognition for a fantastic week.

I also am as interested as anybody to see who Bob has been scheming with, I can only guess really.

New card is posted, without as many changes as were running through my head when I went to sleep. I have given Adam the chance to swap around Black Tom and Kris Hansel if he wishes. There’s always a lot of support for Hansel but I get the impression sometimes Adam prefers Tom, so he has that option should he choose to exercise it, only fair.

Briefly mentioned recently somewhere that this show is the last of the year which you are expected to roleplay for. The show after is the Grand Prix, which I’ll just explain about for new members and having looked at a list for 2016 awards, there’s several. The Grand Prix is a tournament for the GP Championship (as seen on FIW’s twitter thread) where judging is done by admins based on handlers over the year rather than characters. The traditional criteria are things like contribution, OOC input, tenure, lack of recognition by other means. As with roleplay judging, each admin gives different weight to different criteria. The end result is a handler is rewarded through a character by being awarded the Grand Prix Championship, which entitles that character to an FIW Championship match of their choosing similar to WWE’s Money in the Bank. There is no expectation to roleplay for the Grand Prix show as they won’t be judged but you absolutely can do, if the mood takes you. There is no ban on it. The Hellcats are treated slightly differently, they will continue the Fury Road competition established last year and it has the same entitlement of a Hellcats title shot at a time and date of the handler’s choosing.

That’s the next show after this card, which is live and posted. We then move into January for Hardcore Hangover, which is our traditional stipulation-filled show (ReVolt Roulette, anyone?), then there’s one single ReVolt broadcast and Nensai Senjou XI follows. The weird schedule is the reason matches are being set up for Nensai Senjou already, set the stall out early and set things up before things get crazy over the holidays.

The Grand Prix also assists in giving everybody 10 or 11 days off, due to the lack of requirement to roleplay. Around the holidays people tend to dip in and dip out so if you do need to miss any shows take a look at the schedule and let me know.

Thanks to all

EDIT: Card changed to reflect request below.

You didn't post too late, to be honest I just wasn't into it this past week to do anything writing wise. Which, unfortunately, carries a little into this week. I can probably get something up for Crystal but most definitely not Colin. So if I could have him excused from the card. I don't know, might drop him early on. Sorry is this is a little short, I'll try and get better feedback stuff later.

I'm so glad to see such a good reception to this show. Craig is doing a phenomenal job interweaving so many stories into the show and I'm glad that's be recognized. I want to say that those of you taking notice of and feedbacking stories that don't directly involve your characters are getting major props from me for that. It helps build a great OOC environment and you folks are the backbone of that.

A big thanks to Rob for writing the opening contest. As I was reading it, I noticed that it didn't seem like Craig's usual writing style so I had to figure it was Rob. I really like this style that Rob uses. It puts a lot more emphasis on the characters and getting them over rather than getting bogged down with move specifics. This is a brilliant concept for introductory matches. Glad to see Nathaniel win as I'm obviously a super fan of the character and handler. I'm so thrilled to have Nate back here in FIW with us and the Nathaniel character has been incredible after that battery recharge he recently had.

The Orion segments add so much to the shows. Someone mentioned to me that they like how Orion gets into things without being Vince McMahon about it. I completely agree with this. Orion provides SO MUCH story to the show without overshadowing the talent. This was another great example of that by putting over the Coulter Crew and enhancing Clay Krueger as an important character.

The Xenia/April feud has been a lot of fun for me. This is exactly what I had in mind for April when I brought her back. Standing up to arrogant upstarts (though Xenia isn't quite a rookie by any stretch of the imagination) and helping to build character for them as they get ready to move onto bigger and better things. Super honored to be the one to break Xenia's undefeated streak. I've had a lot of fun RPing April lately and the stuff with the Dream this past week was shocking, to say the least, but I sure enjoyed it. Xenia remains a very powerful presence looming on the Hellcats horizon.

Freakshow is definitely a stand-out character on the roster. He adds a lot of comedy to the show much like the Dream but these two still manage to be completely difference in all areas while excelling in them all the same. I enjoyed seeing everything from Freakshow this past week and this promo on the show.

Glad to see Shaelin pick up a victory. I've been pulling for Shaelin for a while (hence the whole Shaelin/Kim feud recently) and I feel like Shaelin has been a little lost in terms of RPs and booking as a result. I can't quite figure out what was missing, but whatever it was Sticky seems to have found it with her more recent stuff. The joint RP with Sakura was really good. I would have loved to see more stuff between Paris and Kris, though. They're one of my favorite storylines in FIW right now. I'd also love to see earlier RPs from Olivia. She's a great character, but she always comes in so late in the cycle.

Stephen J. Eversol vs. Erik Holland. I'm just gonna give some direct quotes from my judging this week.

Holland: Very impressed with Will since his return. I'm slightly apprehensive towards him given his NUMEROUS failed starts over the past couple of years but I can't argue with his output thus far. And it's quality stuff.
Eversol: I love that Bleak isn't afraid to "go there" with the character. Like with Manson Jr. it was the line between writing a heel and playing a heel.

I absolutely look forward to seeing a rematch between these two, probably for the title. Eversol is building up so many enemies on the roster that it's insane. I referenced Eversol to Bleak earlier today as the top heel in FIW and I honestly believe that he's holding that role despite not being directly in the FIW Championship picture. Bleak's output and the way he's getting reactions out of so many characters has been incredible. He's certainly helped elevated the Coulter Crew to where they are today.

I hope everyone enjoyed their involvement in the Six-Person Tag Match. Like Craig said, we had plans for Brittany to be targeted and Johnny (with the Sharks) to come out and get some revenge on the Crew since the idea of Johnny getting attacked was put into play. When I saw Rebel predict it, I decided to use it in the promo. Originally it was supposed to be Darian involved as well and lead to an insane Johnny, Brittany, Sharks & Sakura vs. Eversol, Nathaniel, Darian, Helena & Kim match but with Matt needing some time off it whittled things down and I knew I wanted Sakura involved since she's heading to a match with Helena so I suggested pulling the Sharks and Kim from the match. I'm definitely happy with how the promo came out and the matches for next week.

Wight begged me to let Rebel at least try to hit someone with a chair and the idea of her walking out on Helena over it seemed too good to pass up. I hope Wight and Dai are OK with Ninja Blood Explosion: Complex walking out of the match. I don't figure they care what happens to Helena one way or another.

The ReVolt Rumble was godly! So much happening and it was the epitome of Craig's booking style all rolled into one match. Tons of characters that all seemed to further their individual stories at the same time. I was amazed that Harley eliminated Zombie AND Jericho. That's going to be fun to work with coming off the show. My pick to win the whole thing was the Dream. Hayden has been on an incredible roll in terms of RP quality lately. He's been RPing early, often, consistently and he's really embraced so many great stories with the character. He's one of those handlers that really knows how to put over his character and everybody around him at the same time. I hope he realizes that it isn't going unnoticed. The final four was a great final four as I had pitched Dream, Eversol, Holland, and Freakshow as the final four (though Jericho and Richlen were other standouts for me). Dream eliminating Eversol to win the whole thing was certainly the way I felt it needed to go down because Dream deserves at least that much from the Crew.

The closing moments of the show were insane! I love that little glimpse of Darian returning. I mean, who took him? That definitely seems like it's setting up a return somewhere down the line. *fingers crossed* And Clay joining the Coulter Crew is something I'm far too eager to embrace. I love Clay Krueger and I love working with Craig, so this should be a lot of fun. Looking forward to Double Jeopardy with Johnny, Nathaniel, Dream, and potentially Clay. Should have a TON of great RPs.

I'm thoroughly impressed with what I see this time. You've shown consistently over the past few shows to be the Will that I remember at the top of his game both here in FIW and in NGIW. Keep up the great work! You and Hayden are proving to provide some great protagonists to the Coulter Crew.

In all honesty, I'm grateful to have come out with the victory in the rumble. There were some amazing promos this week, enough that I nearly put up a second RP for Dream before running out of time. I was sweating bullets the entire rumble, but I'm happy to have pulled out the victory.

And then Clay Krueger steals my moment. Jerk.

The show flowed great as well. I'm baffled that Craig is talking about someone stelling in to take his place one day, because he's been too great. The Rumble was nicely written, with everyone getting a chance to shine. Gavin assisted with writing a rumble once, they're never easy. Major props for it being as great as it was.

I just wanted to say how awesome it is to see the way Eversol is being booked right now. It's completely what I had envisioned when I'd first turned him heel again. So to everyone that's been writing, booking or even just reacting to the character right now I'd just like to say thank you.

This past cycle was incredibly fun. It was a challenge to RP for both the title match and the rumble at the same time but considering Eversol made so many enemies, I had a ton of stuff to respond to. Lol. It reminded me of last year before KO debuted on the main roster and was feuding with like 5 or 6 different people. Not that I'd ever compare Eversol to the awesomeness of KO though.

Will definitely brought it this past week. I was never comfortable that I'd get a win but it forced me to dig deep so thanks for that, Will. Eversol and Holland should have a great feud ahead. To everyone saying it was main event material, thank you. I'm glad people liked our promos that much. I loved the match. I had no idea anything was happening with Darian like that at all. I wish it weren't at the expense of losing Darian and really hope Matt comes back to us soon so we can see some more from that awesome angle where Darian was taken.

The Rumble itself was amazing to read. How Craig can keep track of that many people is nothing short of amazing. I always had trouble with anything more than 4 competitors so keeping track of 20 is fantastic. Craig was able to give every person a time to shine and then to make each elimination mean something as well.

I wish Eversol could've won the Rumble but if I really think about it, it's best that he didn't. The last entrant winning the whole thing isn't very interesting. Especially when it had been hyped and mentioned as much as it had. Dream getting some small revenge after the Kim angle and Eversol screwing him over was also completely necessary and awesome to read. That character is just incredibly likable.

I had zero idea that Clay would be turning and joining The Crew. Craig played the swerve perfectly with the letter to Clay's daughter and references to Orion. It's stuff that I only realize now was planting the seeds for a turn and that's amazing. I can't wait to see what Clay does now.

I've been really enjoying the Freakshow character so far. I was a little confused as to what he would be at first but the first few RPs I've read have been awesome. I'm glad he's Rising Champion and I can't wait until he gets to sink his teeth into a real feud with someone.

Really cool to see April get her revenge on Xenia. Xenia is such a bad ass that I'm glad to see her show some vulnerability. She's still going to go on and be incredibly awesome in the Helllcat division.

Shaelin is another character that really benefited from the win this week. And since Kris Hansel is in the midst of trying to get Paris to focus it's the perfect opportunity for her to lose that focus against Shaelin.

Beezlebob and Cruz continue to be awesome as well. I hope we see more of what happens with Kira being the one that signed with Beezlebob.

It was awesome to see Brittany pick up the win as well. I'm a big fan of that character (obviously lol) so I always like to see her being successful. It's also very interesting to see Helena slipping a little bit over the past few weeks. Especially with Sakura being on the opposite team this week.

The promo with The Crew coming out to hold Brittany hostage was something Lita mentioned was going to happen and it was awesome. Eversol being reluctant to harm Brittany was written perfectly and it was of course awesome to see The Sharks and Johnny come to her rescue and get some revenge themselves.

What a great show this week, guys.
