Promos: Craig, Lita, Steve, Nate, Bleak Matches: Craig & Lita Welcome to Levi Russel and welcome back to Seph. I’ll be very honest and say that despite initial doubts I have been persuaded by some very well-reasoned and reasonable arguments for Seph returning to the roster, so thank you to everybody. Steve also has a new tag team for our enjoyment, when he gets around to posting them in the roster section. Thank you to Lita for writing Fury Road and the exhibition matches, we had some brief communication breakdown (we both were under the impression we were writing Fury Road) it’s turned out fantastically and she should be very proud of not only that match but all of the matches, creative and graphical contributions. Congratulations to the Fury Road and Grand Prix winners (spoiler friendly), both are very deserving and were the result of mostly creative harmony, a rare treat! With the Grand Prix I tried to give everyone that really had contributed over the year some good exposure. I personally always held the Grand Prix in high regard so anybody that made it into the semi-finals should give themselves a pat on the back. I’ve probably not treated Adam, Wight or Dai very well in hindsight but I also feel they’ve had a lot of success over the year or in Adam’s case, potentially upcoming. It has been pointed out that I’ve treated Clay shockingly in this tournament and at one stage he was supposed to go over Kris Hansel and lose to Richlen but Adam deserved Hansel to win knowing that Helena might not fare as well. I think I’ve treated Rob worse but I’ve already checked he’s okay with it. I tried my best to include clean finishes, which I think an end-of-year show would feature. Fury Road was tougher, Crystal Blake and Marilyn Lee Cross would have been choices to win had they started with us a couple of months previous to what they did. They have more wins in the gauntlet for a reason. The match itself is just awesome and goes straight into the FIW awards as a potential pick for match of the year! Thanks to Dai and Steve for all their contribution over the year in creative, Rob for his matches, we should also recognise and thank Wight and Sid for the part of the year I wasn’t around. And thanks of course to all roleplayers for their wonderful offerings and participation in storylines. I announced the Hall of Fame inductees during the show, the idea is that we have them inducted at Hardcore Hangover. I’ll also post the 2016 FIW Awards for your nominations in OOC and then in a couple of weeks ask for ballots. Thanks to Wight for his help with that. Next event is Hardcore Hangover, which for new members is our traditional curtain raiser to the year with plenty of whacky stipulations and we’ll put a couple of titles on the line. |

Wow, that was absolutely an amazing show! Every match felt like a big deal from top to bottom and it was a lot of fun to read. I had a lot of fun with the Nathaniel/Johnny promo. It's always great to see how Johnny puts Nathaniel in his place. Those two have had quite the history against one another and it seems like Johnny always has Nathaniel's number at every turn. Lol. Huge congrats to both the Grand Prix and Fury Road winners (following Craig and keeping it spoiler free). Both of you absolutely deserve it as handlers and those two characters have been a blast to read. There was that 4-month stretch that I missed while I was gone, but I don't doubt your work was just as great as it is now. Typically I'd give match-by-match feedback, but with so many matches on this card, I'll just leave it with saying every match on the card was awesome. I loved it all. I had gone through the bracket a few days ago to see if I could guess the winners of each match (since the winners were based on total production for the year this time) and I was actually surprised where Nathaniel ended up. I actually had him eliminated early specifically because I missed that 4-month stretch. Overall, though, this show was amazing and I can't wait to see the fallout from it all with Hardcore Hangover and every show after that. |

Just wanted to say kudos to the winners of the events. I don't have a lot of input because I haven't been here the whole year but it was a tremendous show. Thanks need to go out to Craig and Lita for carrying the lion's share of the quality we have here. Bear hugs for both of them. However, I would be remiss if I didn't say EVERYONE HERE should give themselves a pat on the back! You all make this fed what it is and every person, every wonderful soul that contributes here is so very special. Every rp, every story, every character means everything. So here's to you all for making the greatness of the Grand Prix and Fury road the totality that it was. That's about it. *huge roster hug from me to you all* |

Something I'd like to add, mostly because I'm not sure where this should go or how it's been done before. Along with the Hall of Fame in-character class inductions, there are usually a couple of out-of-character inductions also. This year the two OOC members to join the class of 2016 are Dai and Wight. Both are HIGHLY deserving, have contributed to (and ran) FIW several times between them over many years, their characters have held countless titles and if you need any further evidence of their commitment and quality, they continue to do so to this very day. Congratulations to both. |

I'm not sure how to leave feedback without spoiling the winners, so I'll just say that there were terrific showings from the roster and congratulations to the winners. A special congratulations to Dai and Wighty for getting into the Hall of Fame. Two well deserved nods. |

I think we're okay spoiling the winners now, I just don't like doing it in the opening feedback post because some might click on that first and it could ruin it for them. I'm nice like that! Tomorrow I'll try going down the entire card and pass on my thought process. |

Accolades won by well deserving folks, their tenure and work speak for themselves. Congrats to both the GP and Fury Road, as well as to Wight and Dai. Very grateful to return and look forward to working with, sharing ideas and RPing with everyone. ^_^ Can't wait to make 2017 a good year! Kudos to the writers of this show, was a fluid and high intensity. Lot of drama and interesting developments playing out. |

A well-written show full of unexpectedness. The little opening blurbs really did help, thanks for listening to that feedback. Congrats to the winners, as I honestly have no arguments with any of them. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little distant from roleplaying with the Lords lately. Kinda feel cast adrift and I was hoping something that happened during the Grand Prix would've ignited something in me, but it really hasn't. If anything I feel let a little further out to sea. That's nobody's fault but mine, really. It just... is what it is. So, I guess, if anyone wanted those tag titles now's the time to sharpen your knives; I'm weak. *laughs* It's fantastic to be recognized for my efforts around here. FIW and I haven't exactly had a happy relationship over the last fifteen-odd years, but when we're good we make music. I love this place, what it represents, and a large portion of the people who have walked through it's doors. I'm always ready to go to bat for it, and I'm sure I'll see myself at the helm again someday, even if I only manage to steer for another three months. Hopefully that won't be for a while, as Craig is doing a spectacular job and I want to see him accomplish more of his visions than those of his predecessors. The first few months running a fed are always rocky, because you feel like you're just kind of finishing up the paperwork the last guy left you with all the while you really wanna do your own thing and make your own mark. Craig has taken that opportunity since the last PPV and really run with it. I think we're in for a ride. Seph, please, for both your sake and the sake of FIW... don't push yourself and don't overdo it. Nobody wants to see you in that place again, and while I can respect a desire to return to the community I'm also scared it's going to end up hurting you. You're an adult and I'm not in charge of the place, so I have about as much say in anything you do as you do over me, but please just take care of yourself while you're here. Your health is top priority, not imagined glory or social conflict. I say this in the way a friend would who's steadying the ladder you're on the "this is not a step" step of. I see what you're doing and you say you've got this but I'm really scared you're gonna fall. Please be careful. Don't really wanna end on a nervous note, so I hope everyone had a good holiday and I adore the new bio pics and the artwork for Hardcore Hangover. |

I'm going to start by saying I am beyond grateful that Brittany was chosen to win Fury Road two years in a row. I've always been kind of greatly disappointed that her first Fury Road victory didn't pan out in a title victory. I feel like it kind of set Fury Road up as less important than it should be since the first winner didn't become champion from it. Here's hoping I can at least make the second time count! When Craig let me know that he was going with Brittany, I knew immediately that she would want to challenge on the very next show after what happened last time. Thankfully Craig was ready, willing, and able to incorporate Brittany in the plans already scheduled involving Sakura and Helena. I thought the show overall was a great one. A little sad that none of my characters made it passed the first round in the Grand Prix, but I have little room to be upset considering I have an FIW Championship character and another that just won Fury Road. Craig did a great job writing all the matches that he did. I even offered to take the eliminators but when he found out that I wrote Fury Road he was insistent that he could handle the entire Prix himself. It was a great tournament. And thanks for the positive feedback on what I wrote for Fury Road. I had a lot of fun with every character in that gauntlet and tried my hardest to give everyone something coming out of it. Now, I'm gonna attempt some handler feedback for the year... don't get your hopes up because I have a terrible memory at times and I may have weighed in on decisions here and there but I did not single-handedly decide anything in the Prix. Bleak - Start at the top. Overall I have been all about Bleak's work with Stephen J. Eversol. I've been a fan of the character ever since Kim first recruited him and Nathaniel back in NGIW. Bleak (along with Nate) is just someone that I click with in terms of story planning and whatnot so working alongside him has been a great experience. For the longest time, I've felt like there was something holding Eversol back in Bleak's writing that I couldn't put my finger on. When he came back, he was an unrestrained version of the character, is the best way I can put it. For a character that basically embraces that he's a frat boy douchebag, having him feel uncensored has been a breath of fresh air for the character. I would just caution that you be careful how vulgar he gets as sometimes it can cross a line that doesn't need crossed or can seem like trying too hard to be shocking. However, there's a reason that when Eversol was mentioned as the Prix winner this year that I was all about it. I feel like Bleak has been consistent in his work for the past couple of years, he offers lots of story input for his character (and those he works with), and his OOC presence is always pleasant and positive. To me, there was no question about who should be the 2016 Grand Prix Champion. Nate - I really missed Nate's presence around the board for the time he was gone. Like with Bleak, I've been a fan of the character for a long time. It's amazing to me that he was my first Rising draft pick back in the TNT days. Nate's really grown by leaps and bounds as a writer since then and having Kim manage Nathaniel to the Dual Crown Championship is something I look back on fondly. Since coming back, Nate hasn't lost a step in terms of quality, passion, and over positivity. If I had to give any advice for 2017, it would be just cautioning him on getting long-winded at times. It works at times because the fans just want Nathaniel to shut up, but be careful not to cross the line where we the readers are telling you to shut up. Lol. Adam - One of my all time favorite people to work with. Regardless of what fed we are in and what characters we have, Adam and I just have this tendency to end up working together. It never feels forced and just happens naturally, which is something I enjoy. Adam is full of passion in everything he does and that always makes working with him great. When he's feeling his characters, there's little that can derail them. The holidays seemed to be that derailing him and I hope that in 2017 he can resume where he left off before the holidays impacted his life, because I see great things for Helena and I would love to see great things for Kris Hansel. The advice for Adam is to try and manage your enthusiasm better so that you don't cool off on a character just when we are getting hot on them. Also, just because a character isn't immediately getting a title doesn't mean they aren't working and need to be retooled or dropped. You know better than anyone that the level of talent here is insane and sometimes it's not that the loser sucks but just that the winner hit the sweet spot that week. And remember that titles generally go to characters we can trust to see out a reign without being dropped or retooled and potentially changing the reason we put the belt on them in the first place. Dai - I feel like Dai and I have been at a disconnect lately and I'm not really sure why, but I don't like it. Sakura feels equally as disconnected from the roster these days and I'm not sure if that's intentional or not. Her dominance is not without merit as Dai is one of the most dangerous roleplayers I've ever encountered in all my years. He has an uncanny ability to just come up with amazing stuff out of nowhere and it's the reason that Sakura continues to see the success she has. I wish I had some advice for you so that it doesn't seem like I'm just pandering to you, but I don't think you need it; least of all from me. Wight - What a year it's been for Wight. I don't even know where to start. I like Jericho Cruz a lot, but I don't know WHY I like Jericho Cruz. I know that he's a great concept and that you write him with enough characterization that I feel like I'm reading a real person that is also an interesting character, but I still don't know WHY he's an interesting character. He feels like an enigma to me and I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if you're intentionally painting him this way. Interacting with you again after so long has been great and I look forward to our stuff together. However, I feel the lost that you feel. It comes across in your RPs and I think that's the biggest thing holding Cruz back. We don't know what his purpose is, why he's here, what he wants. So it feels like we're reading someone who's just hanging out here and that doesn't inspire a lot of support as a reader, you know? With Zombie, it's no secret that I've never been a huge fan. I've told you as much. I'm enjoying him a lot more now as a docile puppet than I did when he was GAG King with Avila, but like with Cruz I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be waiting for something to happen or if this is his only role. There are glimmers of excitement like when he spoke with Johnny and the way he acts on Twitter, but I'm not sure if those are breadcrumbs leading to something or not. And maybe I'm not supposed to know. But despite any of this, you are still one of the best writers I've ever had the honor to work alongside. Craig - Talk about feeling stupid. I'm feedbacking the fedhead... Weird. I'm a fan of Xenia, but I feel like I don't get a lot of what goes on around her. I'm sure I missed something with Dimmu and his connection to Xenia and Logan. That stuff I don't get, but I am enjoying Xenia's disdain for competing against the women in FIW and feeling like she's deserving of more. It's been a lot of fun telling the story between Xenia and April, and I look forward to where Xenia goes beyond this. Having Clay as part of the Crew has been incredible. Craig and I have never really worked together much but he was so great stepping in when we lost Darian, and Clay has been a welcome addition to the antics of the Crew; especially with the story Craig was already working with me between Kim and Orion. Leucippides - Crystal has been a fun addition to the roster. Her character development vs. match content are nicely defined, even though they aren't entirely necessary here in FIW. When something is happening with Crystal that you're interested in, there's a lot of enthusiasm and content to build the story. The level of interact between Crystal and Courtney with the rest of the roster is a great indication to playing a bigger role in the fed as a whole. I would advise that you be careful in future handling of Crystal, though. Yanking her from the Deadlocked series because you weren't happy with her first few results isn't the best impression to make; nor did it make many people view Crystal too fondly. I feel like she's just now starting to regain interest from the creative team after that move. MrOtaku - Feedback for you has been plentiful, I feel. At times Kira feels very rushed based on the presentation of the roleplays. I would recommend taking your time with them, looking at how others are pacing out their promos, and try to emulate that in some ways. You were spoken of very highly for your enthusiasm, commitment, and a great attitude and I couldn't disagree with that. Hayden - You have had such a turn around lately. You were my biggest disappointment and I mean that with all the love in the world. Ever since NGIW I have been a huge fan of you as a writer. When you came to FIW, I was ecstatic but a lot of 11th hour RPs or random no-shows made me sad. The Dream and Marilyn have become stand-outs in the fed thanks entirely to the effort and commitment that you put into them. You RP early and often and it's helped really immerse us into these two characters. There was no question that the Dream should do well in the Grand Prix. If it wasn't for that earlier referenced period, it would have been a tough call between Dream and Eversol. Rob - A solid hand to have around these parts. Your contribution to writing has been greatly appreciated and often goes unspoken about, likely by your wishes as you've never been a fan of drawing attention to yourself. You have a pleasant and uplifting presence in the OOC forums and that is always good to see. You are very much at one with your characters when you write them, painting a vivid picture for us to follow. My only advice is to maybe find ways to incorporate Pike more with the roster. He may not seem like a character who interacts well with others, but we need to see that. Pike comes off very closed off from the roster and not in the best way. It's difficult to book a character that is so closed off from his peers that he's supposed to be creating relationships and rivalries with. Terry - Cody McGinnis in NGIW was incredible. Cody McGinnis in FIW leaves me wanting more. The character is currently in the void that the Dream was falling into once upon a time. There are far too many 11th hour RPs or no shows altogether and it leaves us unsure of who this character is and what to do with him. He's a great character with a lot of story and a distinct voice to him, but we have not heard it for a very long time. I know what you're capable of and it is brilliance. Will - You had a lot of disappointing false starts this past year and it's really marred a great reputation that you've had as being one of the best writers ever in FIW. Thankfully we have seen a return to form from you and I am all positive about where Erik Holland is going from here. My advice with a new character showing up is to not overwhelm yourself. You've made a lot of progress on your reputation around these parts and I would hate to see it all undone. Bob - A great new addition to the roster. Freakshow is a fun character with a unique gimmick. I know you've been struggling to get him more involved with the roster. My advice is to just reach out to people, even if you aren't booked against them. There are so many people around here that are willing to interact. You never know what stories can be born from just interacting with random characters. Sticky - If commitment was the ranking, you would be #1 across the board. Richlen has been a mainstay in FIW for a very long time now and I feel like he's really etched out a niche for him in the company. We know who he is and we know what to expect from him. I would just caution you from having him get too arrogant. I know he's someone with a temper and he gets carried away sometimes, but Richlen has a tendency to make claims in advance that he doesn't make good on and it hurts the characters image. Shaelin is someone I've always felt like was disconnected from the roster. She either spent too much time with Richlen or not enough. And generally her fire tends to be directed towards the same things as Richlen. It was refreshing to have Shaelin interacting with Brittany and Mercedes on Christmas for a hot minute. I'd encourage more of Shaelin getting involved with the Hellcats if the Hellcats title is her goal in life. Steve - Real life turns to kick you in the balls more than it doesn't and that has not had the best affect on your characters, which sucks. Jack Manson Jr. was a stand out on the roster and the work you put out for him looked almost effortless. He was high consideration for the Grand Prix this year before you needed to pull the character. My advice to you is similar to the advice I gave Adam: just because your character isn't winning titles right away doesn't mean you need to considering dropping the character. There's only so many titles to go around and the talent pool here is very deep. Sometimes it comes down to talent and commitment and if we constantly hear that someone is considering dropping their character, it makes me personally less confident in putting a belt on them. Olivia - I love the character concept. I just don't feel like I ever get to know her beyond the concept. The very late RPs or no shows leave the character feeling very shallow. Matt - It sucks that Matt left because he had an amazing year in 2016. I was so happy to not only see but assist in the rise of Darian Gray over this past year. He was ones of the best Dual Crown Champions we've had and I know he would have accomplished even more if Matt had been able to stick around. I believe he would be in Double Jeopardy at Nensai Senjou and would have gone pretty far in the Grand Prix. Seph - I was one of the few who spoke in favor of Seph rejoining the roster. I feel like a little fun could be good for you and I hope that's what you have here. Please take to heart what I said to a few others above about victories and titles. I know we all want to win. I know we all want to be champion. I've had my fair share of letting losses get to me, but it is all about fun and some of the most fun I've had here were not winning matches and titles. I look forward to see you just enjoy writing and interacting with your friends again. |

Wow. What a great show from top to bottom. It was incredibly entertaining. I had so much fun just reading it. I'm super honored that Eversol was chosen to win the Grand Prix. I definitely hold it in high regard just as Craig does so to see my character be able to win it is nothing short of awesome. I know I've mentioned this before but it's seriously so crazy to see Eversol come from being the character that just always came up short to see him on the run that he's been on as of late. So for anyone frustrated that a character may not be getting over the way you intend just look at Eversol that it's possible to improve them. I think changing the rep to Orton was a big part of it for some reason. For me being able to picture the rep as the character tends to have an impact on my writing so it's possible there was more conviction when the rep changed. I have to say even I felt bad for Orion in that spot and want to see Eversol get his ass kicked. So that was masterfully written. Lol. A massive congratulations to Lita for Brittany winning Fury Road for a second year in a row. That character is the perfect white-meat babyface. You can't help but love her for her sweetness and how she's unwilling to give up. Yay to Mercedes and Brittany. I loved Mercedes being there to support her friend and of course it was awesome when they had their girl talk in the Christmas thread. Brittany and Eversol look adorable on that Hardcore Hangover poster. It's also surreal that they both won considering their relationship at the moment. Congrats to everyone that had a chance to shine in both Fury Road and the Grand Prix. Lita and Craig always do such a good job of giving the characters a chance to "get their shit in" as Steve Austin would say. Another congrats to everyone that made it for the hall fame for the year. Handlers and characters alike. The Christmas thread was a blast and the graphics look amazing as always. 2016 was a ton of fun I'm sure 2017 will be just as fun. |

I wanted to add an addendum to something Lita mentioned in her post. It was in regards to Crystal and yanking the character from the "Deadlocked" series. There was no ill-will from me because I totally understand and have been there before. I derailed two title runs on "Slam!" back in the day because I didn't handle stuff in my personal life correctly. It trickled over into my character and I really made a mess of things. Actually it was one title I had and another I was going to get but you get my meaning. That wasn't Crystal's reason for the frustration and I am not suggesting it was. The point is if you aren't happy with the way something is going PLEASE talk to someone. I could see a lot of promise in Crystal and when I thought we might lose her completely I asked Craig to feud with her. Now, because of hard work and renewed vigor, I dare say she is one of the best characters we have. The Crucifixion match is going to culminate our storyline and this whole thing has been totally enjoyable. I know it has made me better and gave me a wonderful avenue to wiggle my way back into role-playing. We all get frustrated. If something is bothering you in regards with how your run is doing don't let it get you down. Craig is here for you. Lita is here for you. We are all here for you. Every character is valuable here from the people just coming through the door to the main-eventers. Every person is valuable as well. Don't let something like FIW, which is supposed to spawn fun, creativity and camaraderie sink you. Anyway that's all I had to say. I feel like since we are moving into the new year it was something I should take a poke at. Thanks for your time. |

Lita, don't you worry--The character showing up is supposed to be part-time, and is only going to be a tag team wrestler. Craig and I also set up his debut so he adds to the current feud Holland's in, versus distracting from it. I know exactly what youre worried about and would scrap Misery immediately if I thought he was gonna disrupt my momentum. |

Just to set the record clear, I've never had any intention of dropping any of my characters aside from Xander Xavier Xross and that is only because he felt unnatural to me. My new characters are only meant to add some depth to what I already have going on. |

I get very little negative feedback sent to me directly, so if it is out there (and it seems so), get in touch. Let's have a chat out the characters direction or other little things we can do. I sent Wight a bit of a breakdown of my thoughts about the Lords, hopefully that helps or adds something. Dai made a comment, work backwards from the winner. Eversol was always a front runner in my mind along with somebody like Jack Manson Jr., up until recently Bleak hasn't had many opportunities around the top title and is quick to get in touch with contributions and ideas, never no-shows. Hayden has really taken on Dream further than I could have imagined, early on he was a late roleplayer and that hurt the character because of his nature needs that interaction. Brilliant example of somebody taking feedback and running with it. The other two semi-finalists are hard working, good OOC, not always getting opportunities they deserve and I thought worthy of making the semis. The pre-determined nature of the GP was a nice opportunity to reward, so that's why they're in there. Looking forward to starting again in 2017! |

I can't remember if I said this or not, but I definitely meant to. I don't mind the current direction Crystal has going for her. Honestly, I don't want her near the title right now, I just wanna enjoy the ride for now. I know that hasn't come across in some not so favorable measures, and for that I apologize. So I don't have anything negative to say about Crystal's placement right now. ![]() Another apology; I meant to get this up sooner. In fact I meant to get it up with the match (edit: Roleplay. :P) but the time around then was hectic with a lot going on. Then once things started calming down the fatigue hit in. I haven't had a chance to really get back on since. So apologies there. Also, though I may have misread it, but it may have come to me that I'm lacking in the feedback department. I apologize on that, I'm not trying to be a jerk about it it's just Crystal, to me, doesn't really have much of a style so it's hard saying if things are right or not. She's still learning so I suppose if anything having her as more of a rookie is best. That said, I will say I did enjoy the continuation of the world building during the holiday party. Crystal's reaction to her counter, and the not as competitive air surrounding the Marilyn/Crystal match. I think it's about time to keep track of their scores as I think they're tied now. |
