More no-shows this week than I would've liked to have seen. Remember kids, if you tweet at least once during the cycle it isn't a no-show. You probably won't win, but c'mon. Throw me a bone here.

I think everyone who DID show put in some really cool stuff. Match of the night for me was the hardcore match, and I really dug the DCK/Amazing promo. I was laughing out loud! In terms of RPs, in particular I'd like to highlight...

AK Andrews - Sensational stuff, man. You lost the match, obviously, but I think you're a clever enough dude to know it's because we'd rather give you a shot at a shot at the FIW title than the FSC. I liked what Delaney did, too. Clearly it was FSC caliber. But you really REALLY shone this week.

Crystal Blake - The dynamic between Crystal and Courtney was really on-point. I liked Courtney calling Crystal on her shit, and Crystal being a flawed character in terms of personality and not just the typical Big Quirks people like to give their characters to give them "depth". Really well-done.

Stephen J. Eversol - You're working this Kim angle so fucking well. I was shaky about it at first, just because I think a lot of folks wanted to move beyond it... but the life you're bringing into it and the stuff you're playing off of both on the board and on Twitter is just incredible.

Hikou and Declan Black - This was a really hard match to call because I feel like you guys both brought it in really interesting ways. The non-traditional wrestling promo versus the traditional, the story of a hero against the bitter individual poking holes in it. It reminded me a lot of the dynamic between Iron Fist and Luke Cage on The Defenders, which I watched this weekend. Great stuff!

Mad Dog Smith - I'm not sure what I was expecting when I sat down to read your promo, but it wasn't quite this, and I mean that in the best way. You really surprised me with the quality of the dialogue, the narration, and the jokes. A lot of writers will attempt the style of humor you're going for, the tongue-in-cheek stuff and edging the line between cringe and cocky. You're working it REALLY well.

Johnny Amazing and Brittany - Lita persevered with some really great promos in what she thought were two no-show situations this week, and I think that's cool. Obviously, again, with Twitter, Dream didn't no-show. Hayden put in a decent amount of stuff with the Dream this week on Twitter, and the promo Amazing did was tremendous. Thank you for soldiering on despite adversity, Lita. A positive attitude can help in even the darkest of times.

I don't know that this kind of feedback is going to be a regular thing; I don't know if I'll always have the energy for it. But I wanted to highlight specific members of the roster for doing fantastic work, even if it wasn't obvious in the results of the show.

Before I go, I'd like to address a couple of things that have been brought to my attention a few times in the past three weeks. I figured in a group setting without naming names might be the best way to do it, to avoid causing any hurt feelings. Feel free to talk about these situations in the feedback thread.

1. When you sit down and think of a story, angle, RP, or character to get over as a heel... perhaps a face as well, but more often a heel... consider whether what you're doing is bringing heat to the CHARACTER... or heat to YOU as the HANDLER for choosing a sensitive topic as the focal point of your work. I don't wanna be the morality police here and say "you can't talk about this," or "you can't talk about that" outside of some extreme circumstances, but try to consider the point of your work before committing to an idea that might seriously rub people the wrong way. If all else fails, ask. Ask your peers who you might think will be hurt by it, ask me as the GM, as Nir or Lita as my administrative team. We'll all do our best to help you figure out what's a wiser choice as best we can.

2. I've talked at length about my opinion on faces and heels. There are several topics on this very board discussing the fact, most recently the third major post by me in THIS thread, and a little further down a WhatCulture video to prove that I'm not a crazy person. Or at least, that I'm not the ONLY crazy person. However, I know FIW and e-fedding as a whole likes to decide for themselves whether or not they're perceived as the good guy or the bad guy. That's fine by me. Be despicable and decide the fans like you for some reason. OK. I don't understand it, but I don't understand why people like Braun Strowman, so there we go. Very realistic. Same goes for the other way around, but for a few points on the map Rusev has been booked like a huge babyface and the people still treat him like a monster. That one makes a bit more sense to me, but if your fantasy is for your character to be hated, let's embrace that.

But as the thread says; not all nice guys get cheers. Not all bad guys cheat to win. Your character deserves the option to be more complex than a concept set up before the territories days of pro wrestling. What a "face" or a "heel" is to you might be a very different thing to me, and that might be a very different thing to the next person. So I choose to list an option to describe crowd reactions for exactly that reason. Some of you have taken it to heart, and included certain times when the character gets a big reaction in their hometown, or overseas because of a reputation they built there. Awesome! That's good initiative and cool info to have, and also something that isn't so easy to define by "Face" and "Heel".

Furthermore I reject the notion that everyone who is a "face" and everyone who is a "heel" are part of two big stables tied to their alignment. It doesn't come up as much anymore, but I recall the mid-2000s Divas division in WWE had a lot of this, where women teamed up and seemed really dedicated to each other... because they were good guys and/or bad guys. And that might make sense for good guys; they like teamwork and helping. But bad guys are nasty and self-interested. They might start a stable together, or be willing to team with each other for a few matches or something in order to get the job done... but there isn't some kind of "Dickhead's Code" that says they have to share ideals and embrace working with one another.

Angles like Johnny Amazing vs. The Dream (for example) are brilliant stuff and deserve to happen without arbitrary constraints. That's easier to accomplish when I don't look at the roster and go "oh, but these guys are both faces so they can't fight. They're on the same team." Every wrestler has their supporters. Yes, even that wrestler everyone hates. A sane person doesn't wish death on a neighboring town's sports team; they just cheer harder for theirs when they come to blows.

Now that all goes out the window if a handler comes up to me and says (for example) "Dude, The Dream would never fight Johnny, even for the title. He's his best friend." OK then, we don't do that. My point is more that just because two characters fall into the camp of "dicks" or "not dicks" shouldn't mean they're not allowed to compete against each other. It's sort of arbitrary, and makes it harder to mix up who's facing who and what stories we can tell.

That went on a little longer than I anticipated. Sorry.

Card will be up when I get back from dinner. It's done and I have the breakdown recorded. I just need to assemble and upload the video. Couple of hours at most.

Please leave feedback for the writers and roleplayers; they worked hard to bring you this show and they want to know what you liked and what they can do better in the future. If you have an issue with the result of your match, specifically please PM me personally and we'll discuss it. Remember; 50/50 booking is one way to book a wrestling show, but it's not very good when it's the only way. We're all doing our best to tell stories, here. Putting over your opponent and telling a good story are more important than arbitrary points in a win/loss column.

Matches: Nir, the literal beast.
Promos: Otaku, Corbin, Icy, MK, Dai, Hayden, Nir, Lita, and Wighty.

Even though it was kind of a wonky cycle for RP content, from myself included, I thought the output of segments was awesome. It's always nice to see the show so packed.

I liked the show and i like that we have new people, who seem so far like they really want to stay and be here. That makes me very happy too! I hope you guys will like the direction i'm working on with Kira and Kirito and hey in about 18 years time, when/if this place is still running you'll see the next gen of the Izumi wrestling family.

I enjoyed my match also, even if we lost. We we're facing THE FIW champion and his number one contender. I liked that they were written as if they could "hang with the big boys" so to speak. Thanks for keeping them looking good too, lol. The show was good and congrats to those winners and better luck next time to the loosers! But rememebr we all win in the end, because as long as we make kick ass stories and matches that's what counts!

"Wonky cycle" just about covers it. I struggled to get anything going. Stuff that I wound up with worked out okay, I guess. I think both matches I was in were pretty much coin flips that I came out on the right side of. HAYATO being weird is fun to write, but I'm not sure I can always stretch a full length RP out of it.

At any rate, good show as per. Segments are always good to see and the matches all worked pretty well.

It was kind of a weird week for me too, largely because of the no show--happy to retain the belt, but I do hope Masters is alright. I hope I made up for lack of content on the board with my participation on Twitter.

Tons of stuff happened segments wise which really helps.

Another match enjoyer right here. :) It was a fun play on the dynamic in the make of the teams and certainly enough moments of stress on the lines from Stephen's arrival to HIYATO's...um, presence. lol At least this time he didn't steal Crystal's boot. Because given her attire there's really only one other place to go from there. :P

I'm glad Courtney's little setting things on the right path was accepted. Though I do wish I could have written more or better articulate Crystal's realization of her own bitchy attitude. Unfortunately, my mind was preoccupied with short stories and outside events.
