This was a packed card and Nir got it done Paul Bearer style; WELL WELL WEEEELLLLLLLLL in advance.

Thanks so much to everyone who roleplayed. Matches were tougher than usual to decide this week. If you guys have time, a second RP or RPing earlier in the cycle always makes my job a little easier by figuring out who did right by our rules and guidelines when creative content is so close. Sometimes I wonder why feds have a word/RP restriction when people only drop in one RP on average anyhow... why regulate what's already regulated? Also, don't forget about Twitter, too! It's the reason so many of the matches this week were so very close in the ring; they were close as hell outside of it!

For those of you who may have lost an opportunity in the recent weeks, we've got stuff lined up to give you another opportunity at brass rings. So don't feel like you have to start "all the way back at the bottom". I know who has RP skill and who doesn't, I know who's committed and who isn't. This isn't an angle fed, but sometimes that stuff has to be taken into account, even when some poor bloke is on a losing streak.

Just know that I see it, I want to correct it, and it's just a matter of orchestrating something to give you those victories you deserve without being... uh... obvious about it. Nobody likes it when the GM cheats in your favor; obfuscation is good for everyone when it comes to maintaining that all-important suspension of disbelief.

My favorite promo this week was the Mercedes/Brittany joint. Great way to sell one another, as well as selling other people, the PPV, the match, and the title. Thanks for the effort!

So... another week, another thing I'm not thrilled to post.

*sighs*

This week more than ever before (and it's far from the first time) an issue has come to my attention that I can't afford to ignore anymore. I wanted to be The Cool Uncle about it, but it's just not really an option; we need to introduce a wrestler cap per handler. It's not even anything unreasonable; one singles male, one singles female, one tag team or person who is a dedicated part of a tag team. Trying to give people the opportunities they deserve spread out across characters who overlap divisions so hard is causing booking issues, and making it hard as well to showcase everyone on the card that deserves being showcased.

At the moment, this only applies to Will and Mr. Otaku. Jeanette has a lot of characters, too, but two of those are technically managers who won't be regularly booked, so it's fine.

This isn't to say there won't be some crossover potential between the title divisions, especially if a spot on the card needs filled, but I need to be the one to be able to make that decision instead of trying to juggle multiple characters for one handler all in the same division.

You've got until the PPV is posted to figure out what you're doing. I'm sorry if this causes any heartache; that's not the goal. It's just something that has to get done for the betterment of the fed and the OTHER roleplayers within it. There are plenty of awesome feds Nir could recommend you to on Twitter who would be happy to take these characters and make something amazing of them.

Please leave feedback for the writers and roleplayers; they worked hard to bring you this show and they want to know what you liked and what they can do better in the future. If you have an issue with the result of your match, specifically please PM me personally and we'll discuss it. Remember; 50/50 booking is one way to book a wrestling show, but it's not very good when it's the only way. We're all doing our best to tell stories, here. Putting over your opponent and telling a good story are more important than arbitrary points in a win/loss column.

Matches: Nir, god among men.
Promos: Joe, Lita, Bleak, Nir, Harold, Wighty.

I enjoyed the show very much. The wrestler limit... I'll need to get out some pms real quick to figure out who i'm cutting before i cut anyone. I understand why we need one and i have a few ideas already for what i might be able to do.

Anyways good job guys to who won better luck to those who lost and two careers on the line? holey great balls of fire is this going to be insane! it went from 0 to a hundred real quick! The next few weeks should be pretty fun. And i will go ahead and say i'll likely be keeping Yuki and Kira at least if i can, well i'd like to keep those two as wrestling figures anyway. anyway again can't wait till next show and the ppv. you guys rock and Nir is killing it writing all thse matches!

I'm not the best at leaving feedback and I apologize greatly for that. The booking and writing for my characters on the shows has been exceptional. It's no secret (to some) that my characters have not always brought me joy in the past when it comes to how they've been handled booking-wise. Two individuals in particular have listened to A LOT of my frustrated rantings, and I hope that know that despite my frustrations I've always stuck around because this place means a lot to me and the friendships I've made here mean a lot to me. Even if I don't always show how much it all means to me.

It was scary when Craig stepped down. I've sung the praises of Craig's ability to handle a roster masterfully and as much as I love Wight and as many of his feds I've been in, anyone filling those shoes is scary. We've hit five shows now and there's very little I could come up with to complain about and none of them are really worth the breath to come up with them, nor are they without their reasons.

We have a HUGE roster and a lot of new faces that are difficult to accommodate. I hope to see many of them stay. I hope if any of them are frustrated or disappointed with any results that they take a moment to realize the size of this roster and the insane level of talent every single one of us is bringing to the table. I had a conversation with someone last night about frustrations and trying to deal with it on their own and I'm gonna copy/paste my response from my Twitter DM.

That's not how FIW functions. It's lasted for 15 years because it's a community. It's not a cutthroat environment like most efeds. People want to see good characters survive and good people having fun writing.

Basically, if you've got frustrations with the booking, with your writing, with your character's direction, ANYTHING! It's not a you problem here in FIW. It's our problem and there are so many people who want to help you and see you succeed. If it's booking related, talk to the big man (Minister Wighty) and he'll help you out. If it's with your writing or your direction or finding a place to fit into the story, there is a forum where you can voice these needs and there are so many people who can help you out. Don't be afraid to utilize The Drawing Board. Or hit up Wight, myself, or Mjölnir. If one of us three can't help you, we can certainly point you in the direction of a handler/character combo that we think you'd work brilliantly alongside.

Okay. Not a lot of that was about the show and I apologize for going on a bit of a tangent. I wish I had just as much to say about the show, but I don't. The shows have been solid for the past five outings. Great cards. Great content to build up to them. Great segments. Incredible action condensed into an easily readable format. I'm digging it.

Huge thanks to Wight for the feedback on the Mercedes/Brittany segment. It's been SO REFRESHING writing two feuds where there's nothing but respect between the two characters. Mercedes/Brittany is even more apparent than Dream/Johnny that carries that level of respect, but has a little more suspicion building up with the very deep history of Johnny's success vs. Dream's troubled past. Still, both feuds are different than what we've done in the past in FIW and I am absolutely loving them both. Very exciting time for me in FIW right now.

Also digging this Stanton/Eversol feud. Two of my favorite characters and two of my favorite handlers. I'm very excited to see this PPV match.

I wouldn't be a huge advocate of women's wrestling if I didn't mention that Tara Fox/Rebel match that was fantastic. I know a lot of feds have intergender competition and a lot of people aren't a fan of a women's division. I get the issue, I do. It's entirely personally for me standing up for something different in FIW simply because... I want something different. I've always said if the majority of the fed cries out for something different that I would concede and be on my way. But in the meantime, I'm enjoying the something different that FIW offers. I hope there are others out there who also enjoy it.

Lastly, I mentioned all these great new characters! DCK and Starr are two of my personal favorites that I feel I pointed in our direction. Both put in some great stuff both here and on Twitter for their characters. DCK/Caspian has quickly become one of my all-time favorite characters just from interacting with him on Twitter and he's been killing it here in FIW. Starr has so much potential and I love how whitemeat babyface he comes off on Twitter. Very very easy to get along with.

And then there's the incredible Declan Black. That RP you and I did together was beautiful. The stuff Declan revealed and the emotion you put into his writing... incredible. Simply incredible and so honored to have been a part of it. And then you follow up that heart-wrenching emotion with "I'm not a good guy" just really hits home who Declan Black is and how can you not love to hate him? Masterful.

I am so so sorry if I forgot to mention anyone who deserves it. I know I did but I'm being rushed out the door while trying to write this. Oh! AK! Hilariously good! So happy to see you win the tournament. You were up against two of the best writers who both have a rich history with FIW, and you knocked it out of the park. Congratulations.

I thought the show was solid, I have really loved the pacing of the show structure since you took over Wight. By that I mean nothing is a chore to read. The segments make sense where they are, the matches flow well and aren't confusing, it's not just that the people writing them are very talented--which they are--it's that theyre being put in places that really make sense for the flow of the show. It'd be very visually pleasing and user friendly to watch on TV.

That said, and I know Lits is gonna be the most sad about this besides me, I will drop Icon going forward. He's really fun to write and roleplay, but if it's fucking with booking and it's something I can help to correct then I will do that. I still want to play him too, so I'll be looking outside FIW for opportunities there. Just that Erik to me is such a big and integral part to FIW and to my own roleplaying enjoyment that I couldn't bear to lose him right now.

Thanks for giving us an opportunity to think about it and telling us beforehand. The way you put it to me, at least, it sounds like it's not necessarily even a bad thing.

I'd like to apologize for not leaving feedback much as of late. Some real life stuff has kind of gotten in the way and before I know it, we're already onto the next show. I've also been sort of battling depression really hard lately. So if I'm not around on here as much, that's why.

It was a ton of fun working with Lita this week on two promos. I loved the way both of them turned out. Thank you, Wight for the kind words. Both this week and for last week too. I'm glad to know people are liking the feuds. They've both been an absolute blast to write. It's especially fun just being able to be as viscous as possible with Mercedes since it's essentially me talking shit to me I don't really hold back at all.

It was also fun getting to work with Nir again this week. I'm glad to be writing with him again since we really haven't been able to write promos together since NGIW and it's always a blast. Same with Matt. We had a cool RP that was a little different than the typical RPs the two former Crew members usually take part in.

I really enjoyed the show this week as I do every week, really. I'll echo Lita and just say what a good job Wight is doing. I like the easily readable format and the way the booking has been shaping up. And if I'm being honest, it was cool for Mercedes to get a break from RPing this week. Don't get me wrong, I love RPing but little breaks like that every once in a while are cool. I like that. And we can always still make a characters presence felt with a promo.

I really like the stuff from all of the new faces we have too. I look forward to working and interacting with them in the near future.

Honestly didn't expect the W this week. I was slacking here, I know, as I've been playing catchup on outside things. Not to mention making the (hopefully) purty banners for the Fresh Blood contestants.

The match itself was good. It's nice to see a growing Crystal at the point where her matches can flow easily into the seam of the show. Not so many rookie mistakes or moments and such. Except for her cheating. lol Gonna say it now; Adam's idea. It's just my trying to execute it as well as he sold it to me.

I also do mean to do more with Crystal's twitter so I'll try and vamp it up a bit as well. :)

Also just remembered how I wanted to work on a promo with Hayden. I'm sorry, my mind was definitely not in the zone this week.

I wanted to dip in here and thank Lita greatly for her feedback. I put a lot of hard work into doing what's right for everyone, and in a world where I have to balance the needs of 20+ handlers every 3/4 fortnight that's pretty difficult to manage. I'm sure I don't do it all the time. So I'm glad I'm doing right by you, and that Nir is doing well with the results. The cohesion of the show is part of the reason he prefers to write everything, but I'm always ready to help for times when that can't be the case.

I won't pretend I don't have my faults, and I waffled on whether or not I should take over for Craig several times over the course of the process. Even now I often wonder if I'm worthy enough to have taken up the mantle. But if we're doing good so far... well, I'm sure we'll disappoint someone eventually. *laughs*

To add to what Lita said and what I post at the bottom of the feedback thread every week is something else I've said before; if the GM is doing their job right, your winrate should be about 50% because you're up against people of your skill level. What this translates to for me is "every match should be really hard to decide". And that's basically what exhibition matches and big clusterfucks are FOR; trying to figure out who's in a similar skill camp and making sure they fight each other as much as possible to keep things interesting and dynamic. But 50/50 booking is boring, so sometimes other things must factor.

Don't be hard on yourself, in any case. Being hard on yourself isn't the point. I love this hobby and one of my biggest dreams within it is to win and lose the top title of a federation by the merit of my work, ultimately we are just developing characters with titles and card placement and such being more anchors to tell a story around or tools to use in the toolbox as opposed to being The Only Thing That Matters.

Share stories. Create larger-than-life personalities. Make memories and moments. That's the important shit.

I'm always willing to talk with you about what's going down, what we can do, and so forth, but take that in mind as well as sort of a... general balm for the aches and burns that plague this hobby.
