Inside the co-General Manager’s office of Jack Manson, the man himself is sat at his desk scratching his head. A laptop is open in front of him and Jack is pushing down hard on a few of the keys in frustration.

Manson: Bloody technology!

He slams the laptop lid down and pushes it to the side of him. Jack grabs the telephone receiver and quickly dials a number.

Manson: Is that technical support? The laptop you gave me is useless, get me a new one or get it fixed! You can pick it up from my office around 2pm.

He puts the receiver down and then picks up a piece of paper just as there is a knock at the door.

Manson: Come in!

Jack puts the paper down as he sees the visitor, none other than the Slam! World Champion Orion Oldriod walks in.

Manson: Orion, welcome. Still World Champ!

They shake hands across the desk with Jack pleased to see his protégée, the King of Slam!. The World Champion looks a little banged up, he has his forearm taped up stemming from his match with Mr. Phenomenal.

Orion: I just came in for a gloating session. I mean, what could be more satisfying than actually defending my title against Phil Atio’s chosen World title contender. Madrox was brought in for the very purpose of taking this from me, yet here I am in all my glory…as always.

Manson: Don’t get me wrong, it was a great match but as usual the right (wink) man emerged victorious.

Orion: And then I get here today back from the Haslingdon around the corner, the nearest local private hospital who offer the best treatment that money can buy only to find my name off of the card for next week! What’s going on?

Manson: I’m afraid…

Atio: That’s down to me.

Both Orion and Jack look around to the office door, where Phil Atio now stands. Phil has a grin on his face which is met with a cold icy stare from Manson.

Manson: It’s down to him…

Orion: What’s going on Atio?

Atio: I’ll tell you, first…can I come in?

Manson reluctantly nods and Phil Atio strides inside like he owns the room, well he does…half of it. Atio stands behind Orion, looking at the taped up forearm.

Atio: I heard you had an injury so I didn’t want to put my World Champion in danger now did I? That way the next time you defend against Sean Madrox and lose, there won’t be any excuses of malpractice at my door.

Orion: (laughs) No need to worry Phil, you can bring Madrox in here and I’ll defend the title against him right now!

Atio: You just calm down and get yourself fit again, what is exactly wrong with you anyway?

Orion: A minor bone strain, all I need is wear a wrist guard in the ring and I can still compete.

Atio: Good. Take the week off to rest anyway then you’ll be back in action in two weeks on Slam!, sound good?

Orion: Yeah, all right.

Atio nods in response to Oldriod’s answer and then leaves.

Manson: About Ragin’…

Orion: I meant to talk to you about him.

Manson: Can he be trusted?

Orion: I was going to ask you the very same thing. You’ve known him longer than me.

Manson: I haven’t fought him tooth and nail like you have though over the past several months.

‘The Oracle’ nods, recalling the famous battles.

Orion: That’s true. But how are we going to know?

Manson carefully considers the problem.

Manson: I’ve got it! This week on Slam! it’s going to be Ragin’ versus…Dean Venchenzo!

Orion: Dean?

Manson: Yep, Dean. One-on-one, if Ragin’ can be trusted then he’ll do the right thing. What do you think?

Orion: I don’t think he can be trusted at all. He has never been one to be trusted, not by anybody. And this could be like leading Dean like a lamb to the slaughter.

Manson: It’s a risk I know but Dean is a tough competitor and the no DQ rule is in his favour as a former ECC. If it comes down to it then he can handle himself.

Orion agrees, Jack seems to have all the bases covered.

Manson: Any ideas about what you’re going to do on your week off?

Orion: I was thinking about taking it easy, going back to the US to relax and then buy a ticket maybe for this great wrestling show I heard about called Slam! Thursday. Apparently the World Champion is the greatest ever and the GM is a legend…

Manson grins.

Orion: Other than that I might have a word with a few of the staff backstage, see if they know who the hell Madrox’s partner might be.

Manson: Yeah, let me know. I like being ahead of the game myself.

Orion: Plus I need to spend some time in the gym, I’m gaining weight to pose more of a threat from the mat.

Manson: Good luck with that.

Orion then stands to leave, shakes Jack’s hand again as he gets up.

Orion: I may as well go and find Rebecca Hunter for an interview, it’ll be worth putting Sean Madrox back in his place so that he doesn’t get any ideas above his station.

Manson nods as Oldriod leaves with the Heavyweight title belt over his shoulder.
