Stagehand: I swear to you, man, it's this new place. Chicks in bikinis punching each other out.

Stagehand: They have those at bars.

Stagehand: Yeah, but this stuff is actually televised. There was this one broad who after beating her opponent had her over her lap and--

Catherine pushes her way through the two crewmembers not really giving a damn as to what either of them are talking about. She's in a rush. Or...isn't. As she stops and sighs looking back over her shoulder. At the two men? When Catherine looks back they take it as a sign to move on so they do, but Catherine doesn't look pissed, more she looks lost. She even has a bit of a Blink quality to her expression. But before she becomes too worried, she shakes her head and turns continuing down the hall looking around trying to find something. Eventually she stops.

Catherine: The fuck am I doing?

Catherine stands there clapping her fingers against her palms a few times trying to figure out what it is she's doing then groans as she continues on down the hall still annoyed.

Brittany: "Right! I haven't forgotten about that. It's just going to have to be a little bit later than planned. Is that okay?"

Catherine hears the voice of Brittany before she sees her, but once you hear the voice and look in that direction it's a little hard not to notice her in the middle of the hallway having a conversation with one of the many random crew members that keep FIW running as a global corporation.

Brittany: "Thanks! You're the best! I'll see you in a couple of hours. Promise!"

Brittany is already walking away from the crew member even as she lets them know that they will be meeting back up soon. By the time she turns to look where she's going, she's almost run into Catherine.

Brittany: "Oh! Hey!"

She waves excitedly at the Bad Girl and alters her course to round her and continue on her journey. Catherine can either holler her own greeting (and subsequently a farewell) or she can change her own course to follow Brittany down the hall. Again Catherine looks lost for a bit and sighs before she remains where she is.

Catherine: Um...hey. So...you enjoy my poems?

Straight to it. She gives a look around to see if anyone's heard her say that or not. Jeez, you'd think she were propositioning her for sex or drugs. Brittany comes to a sudden halt at the question and turns back around with an "oh yeah" kind of smile on her face.

Brittany: "Oh, right! Your book. I'm sorry."

She feigns bopping herself in the head as if she's an absolute airhead. Probably not the best impression to give when you're a blonde.

Brittany: "Thank you so much for loaning it to me. I really enjoyed being able to take my time and go through them. There was a lot of them that I had to go back and re-read because they just spoke to me. Sure, some of them got really dark, but what's poetry without strong emotion put into it?"

The Bad Girl feels her cheeks burning up a bit. She rests a few fingers onto this new sensation called blushing as her eyes glance from the floor back to Brittany a few times.

Catherine: Um...th-thanks. Honestly didn't expect that sort of reaction.

Brittany: "You know how you have to fold back the corners of your favorite pages so you can go back to them? Well, I mean, I practically had to fold back every single page. Then I figured that since so many pages were already falling out that I could just tear out the ones that I wanted to go back to later on."

Brittany makes a show of tearing pages out of a book. Catherine's eyes grow huge at the sound of that. But realizing that the book she gave to Brittany wasn't in the best condition then it makes sense. She really should have kept the pages in some clear plastic sheets in a binder or something. But again, it's not something she drags out all the time.

Brittany: "But then I ended up with a stack of pages from practically the entire book. So finally I just started highlighting all the lines I really wanted to discuss from each poem. But then, of course, I spilled coffee all over it, I can't even read it anymore..."

Catherine: You...

Catherine starts now feeling her old self trying to claw it's way out through her mouth and reach out to strangle Brittany. The Bad Girl does her best to keep her down but she feels she needs to do something here. She just doesn't know what! She clenches up her fist and punches herself in her thigh hard enough to knock her down to a knee where she remains.

Catherine: Where's...where's my book now?

She asks through the pain. Brittany is clearly taken aback from the entire incident. She yanks her hand out of her bag at her side, where it had been resting not long into her review of Catherine's poetry. She lowers down to Catherine's level and presents her with the book in the exact condition that it was loaned to her.

Brittany: "I was just teasing. I'm sorry."

Catherine looks at the book wanting to just snatch it up still feeling a little pissed from what she was told, even just as a means of trying to overlook the pain shooting through her leg right now. The only good thing is that Blink didn't happen upon the shot. Even now is bad so Catherine tries to stand up but her legs seized up on her for the moment.

Catherine: Fucking rebelling leg, I own you.

Catherine mutters to herself as she looks at the book knowing she's not getting up any time soon.

Catherine: That's...okay. Just not used to it outside the house.

All the times with Alanya... Catherine sighs before smiling a bit.

Catherine: Am used to it followed by apologies though. So...you really liked them?

Brittany finds a reason to laugh even though this situation has become so strange.

Brittany: "I did. You should keep writing."

She forces the book back into Catherine's hand, almost hopeful that having it back in one piece will help her recover faster. Catherine's first instinct is to hug the book close to her chest. It does make her feel better having the book back in her grasp, though she won't feel at her best until she knows her book is back down in her drawer. Though with the recent bit of praise toward her writing she may take it out more often and revisit the youthful idiot she once was.

Catherine: Thanks, I might just do that.

She lets out a groan as she tries to get up again but emotional happiness can't overcome physical torment all the time.

Catherine: As if latex wasn't hard enough to stand in...

Catherine half jokes as the other half screams at her to keep trying and not do what she's about to do. She looks to Brittany and smiles a bit.

Catherine: Little help?

Brittany doesn't hesitate to help Catherine back to her feet.

Brittany: "I have to go meet Sakura so we can discuss our match this week. Did you want me to drag you along?"

She's being funny... and literal by pretending like she needs to actually drag Catherine around for a bit.

Brittany: "You might be helpful considering who I'm facing. At the same time, it might be a violation of your contract. Although, in all fairness, she's a raging B. No court in the world would convict you."

Not bee as in bumble or even B as in Mungrel's girl. B as in bitch. Brittany isn't a heavy swearer. We'll leave that to Catherine.

Catherine: I might not have a choice.

She tries to joke. Not much humour in the Bad Girls camp.

Catherine: I don't know if Sakura would want anything to do with me. Or us. She certainly didn't seem all that interested in talking with Summer during the meeting.

Catherine can feel a little mini rant brewing up on her opinion of Sakura that day but Brittany thus far doesn't seem to mind her and that's who she's trying to be friends with.

Catherine: Maybe ask her in advance.

She suggests feeling this overwhelming urge to just keep hanging out with Brittany. It's fun to her. She was worried about getting the book back but now that she thinks about it, that wasn't the case at all.

Brittany: "I'm sure she won't mind. You're such a pleasure to..."

Brittany starts to wave the idea off of Sakura not wanting to hang around Catherine, but even she can't finish her sentence. She laughs a bit, a lot nervously.

Brittany: "Maybe I'll call her?"

She smiles, more of a cringe, and starts to help Catherine down the hall.
