"I'd like to welcome my guest at this time, the self-proclaimed Diamond Standard, Nathaniel Alexander" The sound of Toby Bostock's voice cuts into the black screen before it fades up revealing the man standing in front of the usual background that you'd see when he conducts these interviews. He's standing with microphone in hand as he swivels to his left (our right) allowing Nathaniel Alexander to step into the frame. "Mr. Alexander, last week at Fallout, you were scheduled for a tag team match involving yourself and Roy Maverick facing off against Rurik Krychek and the man you've been in a heated rivalry with; Johnny Amazing. However, as we all saw last week, your manager Kim Coulter appeared and stated you would not be taking part in that match because you had "bigger fish to fry," as she put it. She also forced Johnny Amazing..." Nathaniel raises his hand up, halting Toby in mid-sentence. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, nobody forced anyone to do anything. I know you're about to say Kim forced Johnny Amazing into that match against Roy alone, but the fact is, he wasn't forced at all. He's always got options, just like anybody else. He didn't have to wrestle that match." Toby nods, seemingly conceding to Nathaniel's point. "Speaking of options, Johnny Amazing was also given the option to be an intern for yourself and Kim Coulter. Do you honestly expect Johnny to make such a decision?" Nathaniel shrugs his shoulders, almost in a conceding manner himself, as of admitting Toby's implication that Johnny won't accept the deal is true. "As things stand right now, of course I don't expect the guy to make that decision right now. But you see, sooner or later Johnny is going to find himself backed into a corner. He's got no friends other than his sister Brittany, no one to back him up if...for some unknown reason, the going gets tough for ol' Johnny-boy. This is a rough business, you know. It's been said before about this line of work, it's not for the faint at heart." Suddenly, a look of concern washes over Toby's face. The implication is pretty clear, don't you think? "Would one be right to presume that to be a threat against Johnny?" Nathaniel suddenly shoots an angrily offended look at Toby who backs off almost immediately, raising his hand up in a "don't hurt me" sort of way, a scared look on his face. "Did you hear any kind of threat in what I just said? Did you hear me say at all that I was going to do anything to Johnny?" The seriousness in Nathaniel's face is crystal clear as he practically gets in Toby's face. "No, sir." Nathaniel backs off, prompting a sigh of relief from Toby. "As I mentioned earlier, last week Johnny Amazing had to wrestle a singles match against Roy Maverick. Miss Coulter said Johnny's partner, Rurik Krychek wouldn't be able to make it to that match. What exactly did she mean in saying that?" Nathaniel shrugs, a confused look on his face. "Uh, that he wouldn't be able to make it? What the hell else is it supposed to mean?" Toby looks like a deer caught in headlights at this point. I'd be willing to bet he doesn't want to make another insinuation that could possibly vilify Nathaniel, not with the way Nathaniel seemed to react before. "Uh, well…I…" Nathaniel holds up a hand, stopping Toby from speaking anymore. "Let me make this perfectly clear to you and anybody else that might be listening here. I have no real reason to want to hurt Krychek or anybody else for that matter. Sure, Krychek had the balls to interfere on behalf of Johnny several weeks ago, but that's hardly cause for me to do anything. Despite your presumptuous and highly slanderous claims, if something has, in fact, happened to Krychek, there's absolutely no reasonable cause to suspect that I had anything to do with that." Is anyone else as skeptical as I am about that? I mean, this is Nathaniel, after all. Sure, there might not be a reason for him to attack Krychek, but does that really mean he didn't do it? That's highly doubtful, if you ask me. Regardless, though, with that final statement, Nathaniel steps away from Toby and out of the frame, leaving the resident interviewer standing with microphone in hand as we fade out. |
