The Insane Hero

Raine Cannon approaches Cody's door and knocks. The Insane Hero opens, not recognizing the woman in front of him. Raine: Hi. You don't know me. I'm Mark's sister, Raine. I wanted to apologize for Mark's behavior. What he said to you. What he did to Johnny is...inexcusable. I don't want you to think everyone in his family is like that. I, for one, would very much like you and Johnny to kick his ass. McGinnis would try to get at least a sentence in, but found it a challenge to even finish a single word. The Backyard Brawler peeked outside his door, looking around to make sure no one put her up to this before looking back at Raine with a raised brow. "No need to worry, I don't exactly judge people right away but uh, how'd did you find where I was staying?" He actually meant to ask Johnny that same question last time they talked, but never got to it. Guess Cody didn't let the thought pass this time. Raine: Dude, they hand out a contact sheet. Don't you check your email? Or are you too busy getting stoned and playing Zelda? Sorry...I'm working on the judgemental thing. It makes apologies difficult. "Might wanna work a bit harder on that, I mean... if you want any kind of allies or anything, I don't think saying stuff like that will help, actually might do the opposite. Anyway, you're Mark's older, younger sister?" Raine: Older. More experienced. And yes... I'm in need of allies...and clients. Hey Cody. You want a manager? She smiles for the first time in a while. Raine: Someone to stand by you ringside. To promote your pretty face. I'm currently a free agent. And the last motherfucker I managed became champ. interested? Leaning against the door frame, McGinnis actually thought this over, or was just thinking of what he was going to say next. "Not many people say I have a pretty face, but for now I think i'll stay away from managers and stuff. Had something close to one in NGIW and uh, things didn't end up so well." He should know, he was the one scaring and beating half the roster with either his hands or whatever he could find at a sporting goods center. Raine: Think about the offer. I don't usually make propositions twice. She pushes her business card into his chest and turns to leave. Raine: Boys. All of them. McGinns looked at the card before backing away from the door, thinking to himself for a moment before closing the door. The scene faded to black as this was done. |
