¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Our scene opens up at the interview prompt for Rise of a Legend. Standing by is FIW interviewer Toby Bostock.

TB: “All right FIW fans, my guest at this time is the manager, the mentor and the uncle to Lucas & Silas Bergeron, ‘Bad’ Butch Babineaux.”

We pan out, and there’s Butch to our left (Toby’s right).

TB: “Butch, thank you for joining me. I’m certainly interested and curious to hear your perspective on your nephew’s matches at Rise of a Legend. Now, we’ve gotten to hear your piece on the Panopticon match involving The Rougarou. What insight, what feelings can you give us on your nephew Lucas, his Falls Count Anywhere match with Nemesis at Rise of a Legend and the events that have preceded it?”

Butch: “Toby, here, I want you to take a look at this...”

Butch pulls out a small brochure from his back pocket for Toby to see.

Butch: “This, in my hand, is a map of AT&T Stadium - the Jerrah-dome, if you will. This place is gigantic, Toby. The stadium site alone covers 73 acres and is three million - I said 3 million - square feet! Sure there’s the football field, but it’s got bars, restaurants, classrooms, over 340 executive suites and a damn art gallery! It’s truly is the Palace for Dallas.”

Butch then stuffs the brochure back in his back pocket and continues.

Butch: “So right now, I just wanna give the Fire Marshall a heads up - WE’RE BURNIN’ THIS JOINT TO THE GROUND! Y’know Lucas is called ‘The Condemned,’ but I call him ‘Demolition Man’ because that’s exactly what’s gonna happen Monday night, March 30th, right here at Rise of a Legend! Because, I tell ya, I’ve spent a lot of time with Lucas training, I’ve spent a lot of time with him going over strategy and film study, tryin’ to put together a gameplan. And you know what that gameplan is, Toby? DESTRUCTION! DESTRUCTION! DESTRUCTION!”

Butch’s eyes grow wide as his tone intensifies. Pointing at Toby and at the camera, at us, from time to time.

Butch: “Destruction is the key word because that’s all that’s on my nephew Lucas’ mind! Desmond Crowley - ohhh Mr. Crowley - your man Nemesis is gonna be deconstructed from head to toe! Brick by brick! Limb from limb! Piece by piece! And Lucas is gonna take all 73 acres, all three million square feet of this palace with him!

Now I’ll take ya back to a conversation I had with Lucas following Nensai Senjou. It was right after his match with Nemesis. After we got to the back, I said ‘Lucas, it feels great to be back! It feels great to hear the thousands and thousands of fans chanting our names! It feels great to be back in the ring! But we got one problem, Lucas. One problem. You got your tail kicked and you got it kicked pretty damn bad.’ And you know what he said to me, Toby? He said ‘Butch... I think I liked it.’ Lucas then went on to explain to me how with every punch to his jaw, every slam, every suplex, it just made him stronger, ya understand? It motivated him more. It drove him more. And every encounter they’ve had since then, it just dirves Lucas more and more. To what? To what? To be the man! To be the man that can finally pin Nemesis’ shoulders 1-2-3 or make him cry uncle!

Now I will admit, I will surrender the point that Lucas’ focus has at times been elsewhere. But hell, who doesn’t want a piece of Mark Cannon nowadays? Who doesn’t want a piece of the Summit nowadays? I can’t completely blame him, but I’ve been there to steer him back on track. And trust me when I tell you that Lucas Bergeron, I’ve never seen him this focused! I’ve never seen him this driven! And I’ve never seen him with so much pent-up anger that he’s more than ready to channel at Crowley’s man, Nemesis! And Nemesis, I’ll tell ya now, psychological warfare may have worked in your favor in the past, it might have worked on simpler minds. But you’re dealin’ with the man who taught The Rougarou everything he knows about psychological warfare. And as far as Lucas is concerned, I think he’s just a little too off-kilter for your mind games. So save your breath, save your time and save your energy for this match at Rise of a Legend! Monday night! March 30th! AT&T Stadium! Because that night, Nemesis, you and AT&T Stadium are gonna be deconstructed! You’re gonna be BURNT. TO. THE. GROUND!”

And with that, Butch storms off screen and our feed fades to black.
