The gym that we find ourselves in is not the kind of gym you should expect to see any other way. It's super clean. It's super bright. It's super modern. It has all the best equipment and... there's barely anybody here. In fact, outside of a couple random workers (and we can tell they're workers because they are doing their best to look busy maintaining and cleaning the equipment but staying out of the way of the only man in the gym). The man himself is the Diamond Standard Nathaniel Alexander working hard on the preacher curl bench. He's completely focused and the employees clearly know to stay out of his way... so they do.

But there is someone who finds themselves exempt from that. Despite this being the personal training facility of Nathaniel Alexander, Kim Coulter waltzes through the place like she owns it. She's clearly not here to work out because unlike Nathaniel's workout gear, Kim is wearing her usual attire of a little black dress two sizes too small. Her heels on the linoleum floor announce her presence long before she stops before Nathaniel with her hands on her hips.

"This is a good start."

And this is an awkward start. Kim standing before Nathaniel with a smile on her face. Nathaniel keeps his focus on the weights but glances over in Kim's direction momentarily, shrugging his head so as to keep his form with the dumbbells and speaking between repetitions.

"Like they say; 'preparation is key' Admittedly unnecessary in my case, but I guess you can't be to careful."

He sets the dumbbells on the floor on either side of the bench and turns his attention to Kim, wiping at his forehead with the gym towel he had hanging behind him on the bench.

"Nonetheless, it's nice to see you taking this match so seriously. Nothing worse than resting on your laurels, even if you're already better than all the competition."

Kim sweeps her hair over her shoulder and moves closer to the bench now that Nathaniel has ceased his workout for the moment.

"So, I don't mean to state the obvious and I am sure you are already well aware of this, but... you need to win this match. Not because you have anything to prove. I think you've opened all eyes this past week when you beat Mungrel and Rowley. But obviously this will set you up for the position that you deserve to be in."

She steps up to the bench, standing directly in front of Nathaniel and looking down at him. She loves being a position to look down on powerful men, just an FYI. A single finger touches underneath Nathaniel's chin, giving Kim some form of self-satisfaction that she is holding his eyes on her.

"When someone like you becomes number one contender for a championship, it's just a formality. It tells the current champion to enjoy their time with their title because it's only theirs for as long as you choose to allow it."

Nathaniel nods, a cocky smirk appearing on his face as he reaches down for his water bottle, which was resting on the floor beside the bench.

"Damn straight. It's not called Rise of a Legend for nothing; it's about time an actual legend in the company took over the reigns in representing it. Wouldn't you say?"

Nathaniel stands up from the preacher curl bench and heads over to the bench press, motioning for Kim to follow. He sets up the plates on the bar before positioning himself across the bench underneath the bar. There's a moment of hesitation from Kim. Something Nathaniel says doesn't sit the best with her, but she brushes it off and follows him.

"Yes, I do agree with you. However, I would caution you to keep that kind of mentality in check. This match doesn't play to your strengths, unfortunately. It doesn't play to anyone's strength except the lowest form of filth. The bottom feeders that have spent their entire careers picking up the scraps. That's the real danger in this kind of environment. Too many factors, too much chaos. While you're causing destruction, some worthless little runt might show up to reap the rewards. I don't want to see that happen to you."

Kim places a hand on the weight bar. She's not holding it in place because if Nathaniel wanted to lift it, there's little she could do to stop it. However, she hopes he understands her hand is there as means of asking him to not get started just yet. Nathaniel seems to read the signal loud and clear, as he pulls himself up and sits sideways on the bench, his arms resting on his knees.

"No, I get it. You're right; there are too many variables in play here. Like I said; can't be too careful, hence the extra bit of effort here."

Nathaniel motions all around him to the entire training facility.

"Causing chaos is one thing; working within it is another beast entirely. But don't worry, we're on the same page. You saw what I was capable of in dealing with the chaos in Nevada, it's all business as usual here. That strap is gonna be mine; I'll make sure of that."

Kim smiles down at Nathaniel, clearly liking everything that she's hearing. What the hell? Are these two really on the same page for once?

"Good. And as extra incentive... if you win this match and the number one contendership then you can name your reward. Anything within my power to get for you, it's yours."

A broad smile appears on Nathaniel's face at the mention of a reward and the words anything within my power that Kim just uttered.

"Anything, eh? You do realize I'll be holding you to that, right? You sure you'll be prepared for whatever I might have in mind when the time comes?"

Nathaniel lets out a slight chuckle, the smile still etched in his face.

"I don't offer things if I don't intend to keep my promise. Just remember that you have to win first."

Kim pats Nathaniel's cheek before heading for the door. The smirk is still present on Nathaniel's face as he positions himself back on the bench and sets himself up to complete his workout as the scene fades out.
