I bet you didn't know that FIW pays for worker accommodations, did you? Well, it doesn't happen often but when you're the #1 company in the world (what? Like I'm gonna say we're #2?) and you're gearing up for the biggest show of the year, special circumstances apply. In this case, FIW has paid to put up most (I'd say all but I'm sure not everyone is going to get on board here) its workers to stay at the Sheraton Arlington Hotel.

Two workers in particular are put up there and they are Johnny Amazing and Brittany. Brittany is who we are seeing now in her room. Her suitcase is up on her bed, flipped open, and she's idly sifting through the items to find something in particular. She looks off at her cell phone on a nearby table and makes her way over to pick it up. She stares at the screen for a moment before shaking her head and putting it back down on the table.

Just then there's a knock at the adjoining door that attracts her attention. She takes a deep breath and heads over, pulling it open to reveal her brother Johnny. Yep. Adjoining rooms. It's kind of a thing for them usually. They lived together for years, so it's just generally comfortable to stay close by. Brittany offers him the best smile she can muster, but Johnny zones right in on what she expects. He couldn't muster a smile if he had to. He takes a hold of her chin and angles her face to get a better look at the bruise on her cheek. Johnny releases her chin with a sigh and shakes his head.

"Asshole."

Brittany is taken aback by the comment, giving Johnny a "really?" look. Johnny suddenly realizes how that could be construed (even though Brittany knows better).

"Not you. Obviously."

No, but it was funny pretending. Brittany is able to smile a little better now, even though she failed to lighten the mood any.

"I can't tell you how sorry I am that I let this happen."

"I believe it was Mark who let his fist to connect with my face."

Brittany makes her way back over to her suitcase and begins pulling items out, setting them neatly onto the bed.

"It never would have happened if I hadn't moved. I was... I wasn't paying attention."

"It was an accident. Not your fault."

Johnny sighs and walks over to sit on the edge of the bed. His head hangs a little.

"I'm going to have to hurt him."

He sneaks a peek at Brittany, who has ceased unpacking her items. She remains that way for just a moment and then resumes.

"I know."

"I don't... I don't know if I can."

Brittany continues working away, almost as if she hasn't heard a word that Johnny just said. It goes on until Johnny raises his head to look at her curiously.

"You can."

She speaks without interrupting her work or giving any indication to how that makes her feel. When Johnny doesn't respond, Brittany looks over at him to see those puppy dog eyes staring back at her. The thing about Johnny's "puppy dog eyes" is that they are never intentional and that's what makes them so sad for Brittany to see.

"Move over."

Finally abandoning her unpacking (though, I don't know why she's bothering!), Brittany forces Johnny to scoot down the bed a little so that she can sit next to him.

"I know that you don't want to hurt Mark. I know that you don't want to hurt anybody. I realize that when this match was for the Fighting Spirit Championship it gave you an excuse to do what you had to. I know you want to be a champion, Johnny. I also know that hurting someone just because is empty for you. You're not a revenge guy. Even when you were mixed up with Nathaniel, it just wasn't your game."

Johnny sits in silence as Brittany talks, even when she pauses for what may be an offer for him to have some input.

"And revenge for this..."

She motions to the bruise on her face.

"You can use it all you want, but you know that it was an accident. I know you know that. That's why you're struggling with this."

Again, she gives him a chance to weigh in and he doesn't. He doesn't even look at her, his eyes trained on the floor as he absorbs everything she has to say.

"But Mark is... you've already said everything there is to say about Mark. He's not going to stop unless someone stops him. It needs to be you."

Brittany puts a hand on Johnny's shoulder and gives him a little nudge of support.

"I don't want to hurt him. I don't want to hate him. But... he makes me hate him. I've never hated anyone before. I've never had a reason to hate someone."

"That's because you've never let anyone in before."

Whether that's pathetic or not, Johnny looks down a little embarrassed by that revelation. Wait, he has a defense...

"I let you in."

"I'm family. I don't count."

She smiles and nudges Johnny again.

"You've never really had friends before and there's nothing wrong with that. You were focused on what you want to do with your life. You've kept your eye on the prize and that's nothing to be ashamed of."

"If I'm killing Mark in a cage, is that really eye on the prize?"

Brittany shrugs.

"I don't think it really matters right now. You've got something more important to do for the moment. You can put your eye back on the prize as soon as it's over."

Johnny shrugs this time. He's not convinced.

"Hey. There a lot of people who are gunning for Mark's head. A lot of people who don't care what they do to another person in that ring. Are those the people you really want dealing with Mark? You say you're going to kill him, but... you're just going to do what you have to. Nothing more, nothing less."

"And what if 'what I have to' is further than I want to go?"

Brittany sighs and stands. She looks down on Johnny with a sad smile.

"Go wherever you have to. I'll bring you back."

She pats Johnny's shoulder and heads back to her suitcase and resumes unpacking her items. Johnny leaves her to that, not saying a word. Brittany leaves him to his thoughts, not saying a word. This goes on for a couple moments before Johnny takes in a deep breath and casts a glance in her direction.

"What are you doing? Unpacking?"

"Uh, no. That would be stupid. I know I packed a swimsuit. Have you seen that pool out there?"

Johnny looks confused for a moment and then shakes his head.

"Honestly, I haven't really paid attention to much these past couple of days."

"Well, you're going to see it up close. Go get changed. We're hitting the pool."

Johnny is overcome with a laugh. He forces himself to stand up and holds his hands up in surrender.

"Not arguing. Not gonna argue."
