Because...he researched before saying anything? I just want to say that this, to me, has become one of the most pointless discussions since birthday wishes for people who have never done anything here. But, as I refuse to allow "FIW Network" to become a thing here I feel it best to leave a few suggestions. Nothing to be voted through as I don't see any jumping out myself, but instead to maybe get the ball rolling in a better direction. FIW Imprint FIW Broadcasting FIW3 (as in first board, second board--this one--, and then the channel) FIW Airwave Or something, I dunno, I'm tired. So get the ball rolling with name suggestions or forget the whole thing because at the end of the day...it doesn't matter. Showtime, HBO, Starz, Treehouse, it doesn't matter because people are going to roleplay and create the storylines the same they did a week ago. It's just pointless busywork. Party on, Joe. ~eat snacky smores~ |

Wouldn't say researched as much as I would say just a quick five minute fact-check. I knew the last season of Dexter was the highest rated of any show they ever had on their network (and then they decided to shit on every single fan with that piece of shit ending), I just didn't know exact numbers. But I know the nature of the beast as far as initial ratings not being reflective of actual total viewership by the fact that we've become such an on demand and a la cart society. The RAW Ratings I was just a bit curious about and actually completely shocked. Better Call Saul is an excellent show so it isn't surprising that it did well but I'm more shocked that RAW couldn't even pull a two on the last show going into Wrestlemania. I thought they had been staying in the twos, but yeah I was definitely wrong about that. They don't get anything close to the ratings they used to get a few years ago. But at the same time, their viewer numbers probably jump a big deal when you include DVR and Hulu views. And yeah it probably is pointless because it doesn't make or break the actual show, but then why should anyone ever say we're on any network? Why not just never mention that we're on anything if there isn't any point to it at all? To me it always brought a bit of realism and legitimacy to the universe. Even if it isn't necessary I think it's still something nice to have since "suspension of disbelief" tends to get brought up. But like I said I like the idea of it but I'm still indifferent as it doesn't completely make or break things. Anyways...as far as names FIW Broadcasting is the best out of the bunch. Full Intensity Broadcasting (FIB) I think sounds a little more legitimate, like maybe it would be a parent company to FIW and sounds like a network that would show other extreme sports, Japanese horror films, cult favorite action flicks, maybe even the return of mXc (because who doesn't like to watch dubbed over Japanese guys face plant into big ass stones? :D). Another one I had in my head was FIW WorldWide...but after bringing up FIB I'm sticking with that as my pick for the name of our "arbitrary fictional network". Or fuck it, we can go to Hulu. Then you can watch us for the low, low price of... $7.99... Now cue the music! |

Years ago when I thought of doing a Hollywood gimmick for Neo, I actually wrote up an episode pilot for his new show where he fought vampires and demons and rode around on a motorcycle. I forget what it was called, and I wrote it all up. But sadly, I lost it in the a day old hitting backspace and the page going back and it was forever lost in time. So many promos lost that way...*sigh* |

Tonight on FiB, those that go 'bump' in the night better get out of the road when Baron Blandoff is out on the prowl; Neo Carner stars in "Hell's Angel" followed by the biggest straight-to-DVD release in history when Clay Krueger stars in "Dead is Forever". Tonight at 9PM...8 Central! |

All I'm saying is that Vince McMahon would buy FIW and take whichever wrestlers he wanted (The Big Ones) and get rid off the rest. I do think there are holes that FIW can easily fill. I think FIW could maybe go to (Fox) They have a family of networks (Fox, FX, FX2, Fox Sports 1) HBO is a subscription based network which would actively make it harder for folks to watch. |

I know Jo's probably tripping balls right now that this conversation is even still going on... ![]() But, I don't see it how it is any less feasible that people would go to a subscription based network (that already holds boxing and MMA events) than a promotion would force people to pay them directly for their network because they put all of their content on there. You wouldn't see WWE take all of their programming and take it off of cable and put it only on the Network because where would they ever gain new fans? Yeah people would be paying regardless, but I'd see people paying for a network that offers a lot of different content over one that just offers one weekly show. Not to mention some premiums are offered in people's packages so a lot of people wouldn't be paying anything extra if they already have the network. And yeah, I'm not exactly sure this would make it on any of the FOX networks. It was the whole reason I switched it up to Showtime from FX because you would never see the content we have here on any sort of basic cable channel without a shit ton of censorship. Where as premium TV, anything goes. We're a mature promotion and I think it would make the most sense that we would be on a mature network. But like I said it's neither here or there to me and the end it doesn't make a real difference. I just get tired of hearing the same argument of "meh no one would pay for Showtime for a specific show" but in the same breath say people would pay monthly for a network that only features one weekly show or that Deacon DEATH or 4R could ever be featured on basic cable and not be watered down to all hell. But I will say I will buy that a wrestling promotion would just put every single show on their own streaming network and make people pay for it than I'd ever believe Quincy would be getting his taint licked by two girls on the FX network... That's why I say fuck it and go with FiB. It doesn't sound like a wrestling only network and we can just act like they allow mature and explicit content. |

Pretty sure it was pitched that the FIW channel isn't like WWE Network where it's a paid subscription. It was suggested that it would be included in a cable package like say AMC is. Still probably no different than being on FX in that regard, though, I suppose. |

I honestly don't care. I'll check in every now and then for updates from people who might change the course of the topic putting it back on track, especially given this is still in existence at the moment. All I want is that to change, to be something where I don't sigh annoyingly every time I look at it. But I'm not just here for complaining, I also had another thought while writing. if we "get" a broadcast channel, or whatever, why don't we create a subforum where people can post their show ideas or whatever starring FIW individuals. It won't affect what's going on on screen and it could become a sort of different creative outlet if people created series or whatever. I don't know, I just didn't want this to become a completely negative response. I'm like the anti-Jim; I'll tear down a wall but still leave a couple stones piled up. Party on, Joe. ~eat snacky smores~ |

That was actually the thought process behind FIW having its own channel that it controls. People could have their own series or specials that would realistically fit on FIW's own channel rather than acting like every single character in FIW is a big enough deal that Showtime (or any other network that isn't desperate like SpikeTV) would clear a spot for it to air. I mean, we're a fictional company. We can pretend we're the #1 Global Wrestling Federation in the world. We can pretend every character is a money maker inside the ring and outside the ring. We can pretend people are paying for a subscription network like Showtime just to see the programming. But we can't pretend that FIW has it's own network? Quincy and Mya's reality show could air on there. We could sacrifice ratings for a couple hours and show Steele Media programming. ![]() It's just more convenient to say all of this stuff is on FIW's own channel since we're marketing it as a huge corporation with continuous cash flow. Why wouldn't it branch out in this direction and do it better than WWE? |

So the Max Rowley Internet Exclusive/Main Event Experience would be an actual Chat show instead of just random promos airing during FIW house shows... Or I suppose youtube/webhosting... or however we're supposed to see these things ![]() |
