Captain SPARKLE~!!!

Away from prying eyes, nagging students and irritating interiewers*; Mr. Fighting Spirit, Kiyoshi Nakahata has finally got away for a chance to write his diary. It has been a long time since he last had a chance to write anything down, longer still since it has been worth publicising. This is by the way. What really matters is how far he has gone in order to find blissful solitude: Under the guise of heading into town to find some new sticks & skins for his frankly huge drum kit, he has left a note for for Stacy Crowe, explaining why he poached the car, and also leaving him in charge for the day.

All this is just to explain why he is currently at the side of the road, with some variety of weird J-Rock** blasting out of the speakers, his feet up on the glove box, wearing a pair of black denim shorts, that may once have been a pair of baggy jeans, but are no-longer, to reveal pasty white shins, which are usually hidden under long trousers or even shin-pads. The diary itself is rested on his leg, as he chews the end of his pen thoughtfully...

Kiyoshi: Finally got away today. Perhaps I need someone to help me run the place. Stacy mentioned something about an older brother the other day, maybe I should look into that...

Ain't that just the way; he's spent all this time wanting to write something, and now he can't think of anything worth writing.

Kiyoshi: Eh, too much weighing on my mind at the moment. Summer of Sin coming up, Main Event and all that. Truth be told it absolutely terrifies me, and I cannot think of a rational reason why. Not really any different from any other match on any other night... Except, you know, top of the card, the match everyone wants to see. As daft at it sounds in my head, I am worried that they are going to hate me...

Looking back over that last sentence, he adds to it.

Kiyoshi: Looks daft on paper as well... Who do I mean by 'they' anyway? The people paying me to fight in their ring? The people paying them so that they can pay me? Stupid fear, really, but there it is...

He stabs dots into what he's written so far, not quite obliterating it, but making it a little harder to read.

Kiyoshi: First is Matt Impact. That should be good. Hopefully I can just push all this doubting and second-guessing out of my mind and just fight. Fight like I used to be able to do...

Now there's something to think about...

Kiyoshi: "Like I used to be able to do..." What has happened to me? Why the hell was Madrox still conscious by the time Night-mare gave up last week? That is the question. Madrox should have been walking the spirit road with his anscestors long before XK had the chance to get La Furia on... Bad technique, or some kind of lack of killer instinct?

The White Haired one stops for a second, pondering that question.

Kiyoshi: Which of those would I prefer? Which is easiest to remedy? Better yet, which is the actual cause? Hopefully it will return, but in time...?

Thwack! Is the noise that the diary makes against his forehead, as he sighs.

Kiyoshi: Perhaps the two are related; loss of form in the choke because that fire has gone. Gah! What a time to lose it! Where is the Kiyoshi Nakahata that ran through every challenger for the Fighting Spirit Championship? I miss him... Wait a second... This is no time for that kind of thinking. I need to find... No, be that man again...

He slides across, back to the driver's seat, finishing off his last thought on the wheel..

Kiyoshi: Hope he comes back in time to choke Matt Impact out this week...

And that's all he wrote, firing up the engine, and driving away.

[size0]* Although Toby Bostock only irritates him in his official capacity.

** Dir en Grey, Withering to Death, the track currently playins is, strangely enough, Itoshisa ha Fuhai ni Tsuki.
