Las Vegas. Again. The place where Kailey and Kennedy fought. In a cage. In the desert. There had been blood that night and lots of it. Images of that night fly through her mind as she jogs down the path that winds its way around Lake Mead.

That night seemed so long ago. Years and years it seemed. But it hadn't been. She had simply been a different person then. Hadn't she?

Lost in her own thoughts Kailey doesn't notice the reaction of the people she passes as she runs. Some have no clue who the blonde running past is, but they don't mind the view. Still others stop whatever they are doing and simply stare, open mouthed. And then there are those who are too curious not to take advantage of the moment.

Someone calling a name very loudly from behind her wakes her from her roaming thoughts. Her mind registers that it sounds like grow-ups calling to a child and she thinks about stopping to see if there is a problem. But then the ugly nagging that reminds her she doesn't need anyone and no one needs her begins and she keeps on running.

Hearing footfalls moving up behind her causes her to wonder if someone is following her. Kailey glances over her shoulder to find a young girl about 8 years old, arms flailing as she runs, trying desperately to catch up. A man and woman farther back are running toward the girl yelling for her to stop.

Seeing the alarm on the girl's face, Kailey stops and waits, a prickly feeling growing inside. Were these people chasing the little girl her parents or what? They didn't look sinister. They looked panicked. The little girl makes it to Kailey, stopping just short of a couple of feet away, and begins to talk really, really, REALLY fast.

"Kaileywhydidyouchangethewayyoucometotheringcausenowmymomwontletmewatchwhenyouwrestleandwhydidyouchangeyourhair?HowcomeyoulikeRagin,causeIthinkheisabadman?AreyoustillfriendswithKennedy?IsshebadcauseshewentoffwithSwytch?Whydon'tyouactlikeyouusedto?Wha-"

As couple reach Kailey and the little girl, the woman grabs the little girl's shoulder, stopping the run-on questions.

"Sarah! Don't bother the nice..," she cuts her eyes to Kailey wearing a barely hidden sneer, "...lady. I am sure is is too busy to talk to you."

Kailey remains outwardly calm, though inwardly she feels like she has just been slapped. Opening her mouth to speak, the woman cuts her off.

"I am so sorry she bothered you. She is a big fan and just doesn't understand why things change. Now Sarah, apologize."

Now it's Kailey's turn to cut someone off.

"She doesn't have to apologize. She is fine. "

Kailey cuts her eyes up to the mother, not bothering to hide her own hateful expression, then shifts quickly to a smile and kneels down to get eye to eye with the pounting little girl. When Sarah realizes that Kailey isn't angry with her, she beams.

"Those were some mightly big questions for such a little girl! Now, let's see. I changed the entrance to show a change from face to heel, do you understand that? Like, hmm, do you know of Harry Potter?"

The little girl nods happily.

"I think Ron is cute!"

Kailey grins.

"Well, have you noticed how the music changes and kind of warns you that something bad might happen?"

The little girl obviously thinks on that for a moment and then looks back to Kailey with wide eyes and nods.

"I never noticed that! But it does!"

"That is why I changed the music. But I do see Mom's problem with it. I think she is right to keep you from watching that right now. The wrestling is still the same after that though."

Chewing on that for a only a second, the little girl shakes her head at Kailey.

"No, it isn't!"

Kailey tilts her head, wondering what the little girl means.

"You used to be nice. The bad people would be all 'grrrr' at you and... and now you are grring. That makes you a bad person now, too, right?"

Kailey leans back as those words sink in. The girl's mother scoffs and peers at Kailey imperiously while the father fidgits in the uncomfortable moment. Attempting to defuse the situation, the father taps the mother on the shoulder and motions for her to take Sarah on back to where they were. The two leave, the little girl fussing because she wanted to talk more with Kailey, while the father stays for a second, wanting to apologize. Before he is able to do that, Kailey rises and gives him a pained look.

"'Out of the mouths of babes..'"

The father shrugs and gives Kailey a weak smile, then turns to walk back to his family, leaving Kailey to her own introspection.
