Tea time for the Yeti, Kiyoshi Nakahata, to the point that he sits in his Garden of Tranquility, letting the steam from his bowl drift up his nostrils and over his face. In a rather strange move, the bandana - absent since announcing his part in the Rejects - has returned to his head. Between him and the camera, a pair of jeans paces, and rather nervously at that. Kiyoshi: What does any of this have to do with you, Stacy? A cold first sentence from the Yeti, but that, by now, is expected. It does answer the question on who is doing the antsy pacing in front of us all 6'5 of the #1 Student/Assistant Trainer, Stacy Crowe. From his response, it would seem he isn't particularly happy either. Stacy: It has everything to do with me! Who has the ice-packs on Saturday Morning? Who mops up the blood when your nose starts bleeding on the plane home? Who pulls out the splinters when you've spent hours chopping through all those planks with a stupid chibi cat drawn on them, with your bare hand? Who's the one left to run things here when you're off doing Rejecty things? Under closed lids, Kiyoshi's eyes may be flickering, but that could just be a trick of the light on the steam. Still, rather than answer, he would rather sip his tea. Stacy: So when your empty shell finally breaks, who's going to be the one to take the pieces home and put this clockwork man back together? Me! This place is my life too now; if you go down, the only one who can get close to carrying the flag on is me, and I don't have anything like the steady work you got. An angry sound, beyond words is the next thing to escape Stacy's vocal chords. Exasperation is, I think, the word. Kiyoshi is still unmoved. Kiyoshi: There is no need to worry about me. Not a single one of them can stop me. Stacy: That's just is. Elrick can't do it, Hutch can't do it, Kitten can't do it; but between them... Dude, I can't put my finger on it, but it's like your dying; all of this is killing you. Kiyoshi: [Grunts:] Melodrama. The abrupt dismissal annoys him even more. Stacy: Don't laugh! It might a little overboard, but I'm not wrong, am I? No response. Stacy: Am I? I know you hate it all, the bragging, the drama the suspense and the ego, but you know you just can't change it. It's killing you that you can't go out and choke out Hutch until he's dead in your hands; you just won't let yourself do it. You wanted to be the one to shred up XK's mask as well, and given a few weeks, you might have done it if Graver hadn't beat you to it. But why? You should have slapped that bitch Kennedy around for even insinuating that you were a coward! So why the hell didn't you actually do any of this??? ... Kiyoshi: I... Cannot. Stacy: Oh yeah, the honourable warrior schtick you've been carrying through... Don't you see, that's what's killing you? You've got to the top of the Tower, and this is the room. No rebirth, no meaning, nothing to help steer you right. This is it. Everything you hate about this place, all trickles down from the top, and as much as I know that's what you want to do, I really just don't think you can simply fight your way through them all. Kiyoshi takes a mouthful of his tea, and stares deep into the cup. His eventual response is in a hoarse whisper. Kiyoshi: That 'schtick' that you call it, is all that I am... What else is there for me to do? Stacy: You've nearly three weeks to the day left in FIW. I know there's all this you want to do in the company, but surely it can't be worth it at the price of your soul... Can it? The Judo Senshi stares down at his empty bowl and slowly rises to his feet, speaking at a pace to match his exit. Kiyoshi: Excuse me, Stacy... I need to be alone for a while. You have given me... Much to think about here... As Kiyoshi shuffles away, a disturbingly familiar chuckle rises up to take his place. The voice of the Demon Shadow arrives with it, in order to congratulate Stacy. Onikage: It is moments like these that make me wish I stopped taking a hands on approach to my art much sooner. His movements are like that of a slithering snake, going through the room until he nears Stacy with a large smile on his lips. Those soulless white void eyes stare in the direction that his fellow Reject left from their sockets. Onikage: The pain, the frustration, the confusion, all blending together into a beautiful melody that strokes from a brush fail to mimic. A soft and blissful sigh seeps out from between the painted lips and Crowe frowns lightly at this and his words. Onikage: That is the reason why brother Nakahata was always one of my favorite works, so much like it's creator it pains me even. Once again feeling the bitter sting of honor that I felt when exiled and that he now is experiencing in this land of egos and superstars. A lust for battle building and boiling beneath the surface till there is nothing left but a hollow shell of the naive idealism of a warrior's honor. Leaving the shackles of humanity to rot in the endless abyss as the warrior transcends the mortal and becomes the eternal. Nearly as subtle and gentle as the art he is speaking of, Stacy's expression shifts to one of concern for his mentor. His eyes leaving the Morning Star of FIW and towards where he is looking, where the Yeti disappeared. Onikage: A few egg shells may have been broken already in our journey though so close they all are, so very close to it. With your help, my dear Crowe-san, I may not even be needed to lift a finger to see it go from a fantasy to a reality. Again subtle, there is a twitch of the eye from the Dojo's Assistant Teacher as he continues to look where his mentor was last seen by them. Onikage: If you'll excuse me, I must tend to the needs of my dear brother Tottington and see if there is any thing I can do for him. Then...I must go pay some attention to my very special robotic guest I've been keeping for the last few months...Perhaps next time we get to have a little chat brother Nakahata will no longer be the popper but the prince at long last. Some thing close to an actual giggle comes out of the Reject's mouth and he too slips away out of the room. Which results in Stacy Crowe being left all alone in the room, clenching his fists as the camera fades to black. |
