On a dark, fresh Japanese night, your FIW Dual Crown Champion slips into the country unannouced; Kiyoshi Nakahata's stealthily chartered jet* touches down, and once the steps have been rolled up to the door, the Yeti steps out into the breeze, pausing to stretch and yawn and brush the hair out of his mouth. Fuzziness of the plane ride shaken, he gets ready to take his first steps on his homeland in 10 months. Next off the plane is Keita Ijima, who seems a little more alert, having actually got some sleep on the plane back home. He still can't stifle a yawn though, and this aggravates the stitches on his jaw. Finally is Jun Kimura, who has ditched his contact lenses and looks out with his own two, grey eyes; the swelling on the right one having all but faded....
Keita: Well, it's a better reaction than you got in Mexico City, eh? At this, Kiyoshi takes his face in one hand, his bag in the other and just walks away, with Keita dragging his wheeled suitcase behind him. Just to be different, Kimura has a rucksack and hefts that up onto his shoulders when he reaches the base of the stairs. Keita: A few days here at home, and then off to Nagano. Wonder what those mountain-folk'll make of you up there. Kiyoshi obliges him with his best Wookie-Roar. It's not something he practises too much, and to be honest, it shows. Kimura: It's good to be back. You know how long you're staying this time, Kiyo? With an undercurrent of apology, Kiyoshi can only shrug. Kiyoshi: I still have not decided. At the very least, until the beginning of February, so I will be around for my sister's birthday.** After that, I am still not sure. I still have to speak to my parents and...*** Keita: Ah... How is she? Kiyoshi: Oh, fine. I think she wants me to stay, so we can finally settle down and get married and everything. It was something we talked about a lot when she came to visit a few months ago, just before we left the mainland. I cannot ask her to leave home, especially when I will not even be around for half of the year. Keita: Another tick in the 'Stay' column? A shrug, as the three carry on walking across the nearly deserted airfield, doing their best not to mention Kiyoshi's fiancee by name. Go watch Abdullah Kobyashi's BJW sponsered marriage celebration if you want to know why. Kiyoshi: Seems that way. She says she can wait as long as it takes, but... Kimura: I remember it was her idea for you to go travelling in the first place, right? The Yeti answers the question with a nod, and then dismisses the whole line of enquiry with another of his infamous shrugs. He does have broad enough shoulders to keep shrugging off questions all day long, as has been proven on a number of occaisions before this. Keita: I suppose the other side of it all is the Dual Crown, and the whole Nakahata-era. Kimura: That's got a nice ring to it; Nakahata-era. Keita: Oh hell yeah, conjours up images of bleak snowscapes- Kimura: Thundering Drumbeats- Keita: And of course, lots and lots of fighting. Come to think of it, Nagano is a fine place to start this Nakahata-era. Most people clap their hands on Kiyoshi Nakahata's shoulders, talking about bright, shiny things like 'the future,' and 'a new era,' will usually find their arms broken, or the floor suddenly becoming a wall, or something of that ilk. Keita Ijima and Jun Kimura get a rare - if a little sheepish - smile. After all...
... Maybe not quite hell, but no man wades into a riot that he essentially caused for just anyone. The three are getting close to the main building of the airfield, just enough time for one closing remark. Keita: Ah well, even if it's only for two months, this Nakahata-era's going to be fun, right? The only reply is Keita's own laugh, and the fading of the scene... [size0]* FIW.com's expert spies have been, as yet, unable to determine who exactly chartered it. It's believed to be the company itself, but why they would want to keep it secret is... well, a secret. ** February 5th. *** He says a name here, but it's muted. |
