We fade in quickly, though we should be quite because Grant Rice appears to be on his cell phone as it's to his ear as he sits there in his jeans and Revolution Tee, his Championship draped over his shoulder. He pulls the phone from his ear, flipping it shut before noticing the camera in his face. Grannt Rice: "Boy, I tell you. You should never piss Nightmare off." He slides his phone into his pocket as he remains sitting, sitting it what appears to be one of the many locker rooms filling the 'Nagoya Rainbow Hall,' or maybe I should say the 'Nippon Gaishi Hall.' Grannt Rice: "I just checked my messages, got one from him chewing me up one side and down the other. Why? I guess he wanted me to show up on some rooftop so we could talk about our opponents or something. All I got to say about that is... I guess I missed his 'Bat Signal' errrr, I mean.... 'Nightmare Light.'" Grant has a quick laugh to himself, some of you might get it, others, well, I don't see why you wouldn't get it! Grannt Rice: "All jokes aside though, I don't need all the theatrics of standing on high rooftops with the wind blowing to get my point across, no offense to Nighty though. I'm just more the type of cat that just wants to get in the opponents face and simply say, "Imma Kick Yo' Ass." I say what I intend and I intend what I say, though that's not to say what I say is always how things pan out. I guess if they did, I would be some kind of psychic... be the next Miss Cleo or something." Grant shakes his head, probably can't help but think of those bad infomercals of hers. Grannt Rice: "I always walk into a match looking for a win, if your not then I believe your in the wrong business. If you don't have a hunger for a win then you should find yourself a fence to paint or a burger to flip because without a drive for victory, your left in the dust and keep company with 'loss.' I was gunning for a victory last week, even after coming off possibly my biggest victory to date, likely only rivaled by the night I won my first championship, I still wanted that win. It's alright though, I may not have gotten my win, but with my loss comes a victory for Elrick. Some might argue that Nightmare had a little to do with his victory, but to them I would say... you have no idea what your talking about. You see, there is a reason why I would consider Elrick a friend, why I was proud to fight arm & arm with him as apart of The Revolution... and let me tell you, that reason isn't because he can pick up a victory or two when there is some interference. I applaud him on his victory, even though it means I have to eat a loss, but this week I have other fish to fry, or maybe I should say... other flies to catch in honey, you know, since Mr. Wilson is the 'Flycore' and all. Ha... okay, maybe not that funny." Grant shakes his head once more, probably realizing the bad night he's having with the cracks and references, I really feel for him. Grannt Rice: "I really only have one piece of advice for Shaun. Look out. No, I'm not saying that because I want to knock his head off or anything, it has little to do with me at all actually. You see, Shaun is the currently reigning Flycore Champion, and it just so happens that my partner, Nightmare, wouldn't mind to add that title to his resume. I'll have to say, I think Nightmare is hungry, I think he really wants this one. I don't think I have seen him as driven towards something since our chase towards our Tag Title victory, or perhaps the week Xtreme Kitten mentioned his daughter. He's fired up toward this goal and that means he's got a giant target plastered on Shaun's forehead. That's why he should look out. I think it's great though that Nightmare is looking to snatch the Flycore. I'm not deaf, I've heard some of the fans talking, I've heard some of the guys in the back talking. It would seem some believe I'm the star of this team, the rising star perhaps, while Nightmare does nothing but hold me back as the washed up has-been. While I love the compliments they give me in that statement, it also makes me want to break a bone or two in their bodies when I hear them say that. The Revolution, both in it's current form as Nightmare & I as well as the days when it was the two of use running around with the likes of Elrick, Extreme Ninja and even Tier, The Revolution has never been a one man show. We all brought something to the table, we each had the heart to stand up for what we believed in, we each have relied on one another." A smile appears on Rice's face, though only for a fraction of a second. I'd be willing to bet that he was thinking of the times when it was the whole crew fight as The Revolution. Grannt Rice: "So seriously, you need to quit with the knocks on Nightmare. There is a reason why we're 'The Revolution' and not 'Grant Rice... and... that other guy.' The two of use have played the staple of the Tag Division, we held the division together while other teams ran off because they couldn't cut it. It's time now to show that we weren't just a staple for the Tag Division, that we can... and are... a staple for FIW as a whole." He looks over to his shoulder, or rather, looks over to what rests on his shoulder. Grannt Rice: "I would like to believe I've taken steps toward proving just that, one of those steps being the title I now hold over my shoulder. Nightmare looks to prove once again that he is that staple when he brings something fresh to the Flycore Division. You see, The Revolution is going nowhere. Whether we're running around with the Tag Team straps, teaming up for the night to knock down two opponents, or running around dominating the singles ranks. Simply put, The Revolution reeks havoc." It just wouldn't be a Grant Rice promo without that grin of his, that grin of confidence, or at some times, evil thoughts. Not sure which he's giving us now, but neither can be good for Drake & Shaun. Grannt Rice: "This week we reek havoc once again as a unit. Shaun Wilson and Drake Love, our victims." Havoc, Victims, this definitely can't be good for those two. Grant's grin remains as he looks over to his championship and back to the camera before we fade. |
