Captain SPARKLE~!!!
Creative Team
Keita: You remember him? I don't remember him, and I would have thought I could remember a giant with a mullet.

Kimura: He did say All Japan in the late ninties. We didn't get too much of that out here.

Keita: So he's definately not Scott Norton then...

The Super Ninja, Keita Ijima trails off with a thoughtful noise, as we pan away from him and his partner in crime, Jun Kimura. The two are resting on the apron of a training ring, enjoying the sparing going on within. Well, 'enjoying' might not be quite the right word; the two have somewhat jaded looks on their faces as two people crash to the mat in front of them.

Kimura: Waza-ari; Aka!!!

That's half a point to Red, for the throw. Surprise creeps into Jun's tone as he announces this, and Keita's jaw drops in disbelief. The one called the Judo Senshi in FIW, Kiyoshi Nakahata, has just been thrown. Not cleanly enough to lose the match, but thrown, nonetheless, and is now being pinned.

Keita: You weren't joking, were you? Out of practise is an understatement! Five Seconds.

Fortunately, years of Pro-wrestling training have served the Yeti well, and he manages to bridge out of the pin, and roll onto his front, still able to talk between deep breaths and attempts to escape

Kiyoshi: I did say... There were no dojo in Mexico that would train me... Some how, I was not well liked... Besides... They like their boxing down there.

After being flipped over into a Scarf Hold, Kiyoshi cuts it back, and finds himself on top, in a half guard with an armlock on the far side being blocked.

Keita: You're doing well enough on the ground, but your Standing game sucks.

Kiyoshi: I know... I used to be small enough to slip under and throw people... But now... Too tall...!

After escaping the half-guard, Kiyoshi slips around to the arm he was attacking, and goes for a Jujigatame, which is almost blocked, but the speed and power of it takes his opponent by surprise, and he taps on Kiyoshi's leg instantly. The two stand, bow, and Kiyoshi drops into the corner by where Jun and Keita are leaning. Breathing slightly heavily, he throws nearly a full bottle of some brightly coloured sports drink down his throat.

Kiyoshi: This O'Brien is 6 inches taller, heavier and wears a shirt to the ring. Over-powering him would be difficult, but if I can get close, a half-decent throw could serve me well.

Kimura: We were just talking about him. Do you remember ever seeing him?

Patting the back of his head, Kiyoshi has to think about this one.

Kiyoshi: I think he was at Kawasaki Stadium in 2000. Visions of barbed wire boards and stuff before Gannosuke and Sabu came out* and knocked each other senseless. Surprised he mentioned All Japan though. And New Japan. Not sure if he ever came here,** but if it was only a few tours in '01, not sure if we would have seen him.

Keita: Unless he really was Scott Norton...

Kimura: Let it go; he is not Scott Norton! He's not old enough to be Norton. Anyway, Kiyo, are you sure you want to get close to this guy? He likes his suplexes, and he can wrestle.

Kiyoshi doesn't say anything immediately, just pulling himself up.

Kiyoshi: I know, but suplexes need power to come from the legs to work, as well as good technique; a well placed sweep can counter them. It means however, that I need to work on my standing-up phase. Alright then, Next!

As we fade away. he barks out instructions to the next person to enter the ring, snaps off a bow and goes to it.

[size0]* Which means that I've inserted the match just below the Semi Final of the actual 5/5/00 Kawasaki Stadium card. Sorry if I'm taking liberties with that, but it seems like a reasonable spot for a monster Gaijin to go on at, especially with some big native matches going on above it. If all else fails, just blame Kiyoshi's memory. ^_^

** Here being Nagoya.
