"A Very Blog'ing Christmas"

Happy Holiday's to all. On this Christmas Night, I find myself eager to drop by here and give you some insights into my mind, and I get to do just that on my brand new Laptop given to my by D, someone who those fans that have followed my career may be familiar with.

Anyway, I sit here, feeling miserable from all the food I consumed today, though feeling the joy brought by the holidays. I hope you all had a great Christmas, those of you who celebrate it, hope you got to see the family you may not have seen for a while, got that gift you were wishing for and overall had a great time.

Speaking of gifts though, as I sit here I just can't help but wonder if Nightmare has opened the gift I got for him. Shhh, don't tell him but it's a DVD of Batman Begins, he's bound to love it.

Anyway, 2007 is near it's end and with that comes to arrival of FIW's Grand Prix Tournament. I've looked over the brackets for this years edition and it looks to be a pretty good pool of talent, not saying previous flavors haven't been though.

I find the concept of Singles Champions defending their titles in the first round to be a great concept. I'm sure it will lead to some 5-Star matches. You see, not only do you have the Tournament itself pushing people to bring their best, you hang a title in the face of the challenger or put the champion in danger and you only drive them further toward their best. I look forward to stepping into the ring with Nick Allen, someone who can pose a threat to my UIC reign, and that's only heightened by this match taking place as part of the tournament.

If I look past Allen for a moment, if I read the card right, it appears if I can pull the win that I would be pitted against the victor of the Drake Love and Jaime Lee match up. Drake Love is certainly a familiar name, we've had a run in or two you could say. Even though it was only last weeks ReVolt when we saw Drake Love tapping the mat is 'Mizery,' I would never count him out. Though it is his opponent that interests me more.

Jaime Lee, I've tried to think back, and I must say I can't recall stepping into the ring with her in a one on one situation, maybe in a Battle Royal or perhaps a Tag Match but never just her & I. Though, that isn't saying too much, I'm sure the countless chair shots I took in my NGIW days did a number on my memory and that face-off might be one that slipped through the cracks of my memory. In either case, I would find it interesting to stand opposite her in the ring, and it is this week that it's a possibility.

I'm not even going to go beyond that, if I was even to try and fathom getting past not only Nick Allen but also Drake Love or Jaime Lee, I would be looking at a match against five other opponents. Those 5 other opponents being decided by not just five other matches but rather fifteen other matches if my calculations are correct. That is far beyond what I'm willing to think about tonight. Doing so would require me to either predict each match and then cover the five opponents I think I might face, or cover every last soul in the tournament... one of which is still a mystery unless I've missed something.

Besides, I don't want to go through and try to clown everybody on a day like today, not to mention the fact that as I look at the line-up for the tournament, there isn't really any one name that jumps out at me as someone I would hate to see advance in the tournament. The list is filled will people that would be well deserving if they made it to the end, people that have had some great years.

I would like to think I had a great year, I had that Tag Title reign with Nightmare, had the short run with the Fighting Spirit and currently find myself holding the International Championship. Winning this tournament would be a great way to cap off the year, but with a tournament like this there is simply too many variables and about the only thing you can do is try to prepare yourself for every outcome the best you can, then go out and give your all. That's what I've done and intend to do.

Though, I think what I intend to do right now is crawl into bed and get me some sleep, I think I'm going to get up bright & early in the morning and head to the gym, try and work off some of this food I pigged out on today. Again, I hope you had a great day, see you at ReVolt.
