Lara’s Stunner on him may have hurt Orion and he rubs his jaw to highlight the fact but for now he is driving a car along what appears to be a passage between two large mountains. His passenger is his attacker, the Hellcat no.1 contender, Lara Toni.

Lara: We have to talk about this. I mean, taking me away from the school? That’s just not rational Orion. It’s not logical. You said I have one more phase to go, that’s soul Orion. I can get in touch with religion in the school, there’s a priest there and a church.

The manager’s expression does not alter. His eyes are firmly gripped to the road much as both of his hands are to the steering wheel. Orion suddenly turns the wheel and brings the car to a stop at the side of the road on a bridge over a lake.

Lara: Why are we stopping?

Orion: You ask a lot of questions Lara.

Lara: That’s how I learn.

Orion opens his door and steps out into the road. He walks around the front of the car as Lara peers out at him. She removes her seatbelt as Oldriod opens her door for her. He motions for Toni to also step out. She is reluctant.

Orion: You drive for a bit. You determine our destiny.

Lara: There’s a lot of difference between my destiny and a car journey.

Orion: There isn’t. In fact, they are one and the same. You are out in the cold. You are somewhere you don’t want to be, both now and in FIW. The school, well that’s your Hellcat Championship. You need to go the school.

Lara shrugs her shoulder and grins. She pushes Orion aside and goes to get in the car, thinking that this task is rather easy but Orion puts his foot against the door to stop her opening it. He shakes his head and again she shrugs. Lara walks beyond Orion but he grabs her shoulder. Orion waves a finger in her face and Lara gets frustrated.

Lara: So how do you want me to get back? It’s two miles to the school at most.

Orion: You’re starting from the wrong place.

Before Lara can consider Orion’s statement, he slams fist into her body! Orion pushes her back to the edge of the bridge, her head strikes the fence and boots her in the stomach; he then drops her neck onto his shoulder in Lara’s Instant Classic! Lara stumbles back and topples over the fence! Lara falls from the bridge down into the lake about 10 foot below! Orion leans over the fencing to see Lara resurface spluttering. Oldriod straightens his clothes and as casual as you will ever see, hops back into his car. The engine starts and he does a 180 into the road to head off as Lara below treads water.

Lara: What the hell????

She swims over to the edge of the lake and struggles onto the embankment. Dripping wet she shakes the water off her, Lara starts to walk but her leg gives way and she hits the ground. Lara drags herself up, she touches the back of her and finds blood on her fingers. She recalls the back of her head hitting the fence. Lara scowls and pulls herself up to her feet but something drops out of her pocket in the process. She looks down to see a plain white soggy envelope. The Hellcat Sensation looks up at the bright blue sky and blazing sun before opening it to reveal a piece of paper inside. She begins reading it…

Lara,

If you are reading this, I am sorry to inform you that your match with Roxie Galanoochie at Anarchy in the UK has been cancelled. You just simply aren’t ready Lara. You have been replaced by a former FIW Hellcat.

                          Apologies
                            Orion

Lara’s face drops and she places the letter in her lower back, catching it between her skin and belt. With a renewed sense of anger, she sprints away from the lake and climbs a tree. From there she jumps from a sturdy branch back onto the road. Lara takes off in a sprint in the middle of the road with cars going past her on either side blaring their horns at our Hellcat.

Lara: Must…get…back…

The heat soon sets in on Lara, she begins sweating and her run soon slows down as she basks in the scorching sun. Five minutes later and Lara is still running. Her feet must be hurting but she pounds on, committed to returning to the school and confronting her manager. Lara’s road takes a turn for the worse, it begins to slops upwards and Lara’s pace plummets. She stops and doubles over, putting her hands on her hips and then her hands go on top of her head (away from the wound) to assist her breathing. After just a few minutes of rest she attacks the slope once more, this time making significant progress before the road twists around a bend into a steeper climb. Lara comes to a stop and eyes the task ahead of her.

Lara: Oh fuck!

She starts to run again, still placed in the middle of the road.

The school where Lara was doing her final training under the tutelage of Orion Oldriod is a rather peaceful place. The car Orion was driving is parked in a bay close to the entrance, judging by two more care parked behind it…it’s been back for a fair while. Orion himself is leant on a wall with his arms folded, he is watching the road beyond the grounds.

Orion: Come on Lara!

He keeps watching but is shaking his head not long after. A man dressed in black with a white collar (the priest) approaches Orion with the bible in hand. He engages in conversation with Oldriod but Orion stops listening to the priest. His eyes are wide, he has seen Lara Toni at jogging pace making it to the school!

Orion: Impressive.

He continues talking with the priest as Lara passes through the gates into the property. Her pace picks up and she gets to within striking distance of Orion…Lara leaps through the air and knocks Orion to the ground! Orion seems winded and Lara looks up to see the priest frowning in disapproval.

Lara: Sorry.

She looks back down and starts to punch Orion in the face! Orion can hardly defend himself against such a motivated Hellcat.

Orion: What are you doing?

Lara: Taking me out of my match! How dare you?! You son of a BITCH!

Lara wails away at Oldriod with both arms but the travel has made her weak and Orion pushes her off him. She jumps right back on and chokes Orion!

Lara: You leave me out in the heat with nothing but a letter???? You didn’t even have the balls to tell me to my face?! This is MY Hellcat Title! I need this! It is my destiny! I’m going to win that belt at Anarchy, nobody else! I AM READY! I AM GOING TO WIN THIS BELT!

Orion: I…don’t…*gags*…know…what…

Lara: Oh yeah?! Well what’s this?!

Lara reaches around to where she put the letter in trapped in her belt…but it’s not there. The belt is practically stuck to her skin with all her sweat so it can’t have slipped out unnoticed. Lara can’t believe the letter isn’t there and she looks down at an equally confused Orion.

Lara: Where’s the letter? You must have taken it!

Orion: I didn’t take anything and what letter????

Lara: It said that you had taken me out of the match! I had it right here I swear! I would have noticed that going missing.

As Lara is talking, a drop of blood falls from her head onto the outstretched hand of Orion. He shows Lara his hand and then touches the back of her head, which draws a wince from Lara.

Orion: You were disorientated. The wound, the heat and everything else this week.

Lara lets Orion get up to his feet. He dusts himself down and then peers at a still-confused Toni.

Orion: So what happened?

With the events of the day and as Orion pointed out, the week, catching up on Lara she takes a seat on a bench close to where she had Oldriod pinned to the floor.

Lara: I swam out of the lake. I found the letter. I ran back. That’s it.

Orion: Well you definitely swam out of the lake and you definitely ran all the way back but this letter must have been a hallucination.

Lara: But it felt so real…

Orion: I’m sure it did. But we’re done here.

Lara: We are?

Orion: You said you were ready and I believe you. Your soul is ready. We go now.

He stands up, something of a smile on his face as he picks up his pair of car keys that must have been dropped during the scuffle.

Orion: Get your shit together now. You’ve got a plane to catch and then a title win.

Lara walks off still rather puzzled at the events of the afternoon. Orion slowly strolls to his car but his satisfaction is interrupted by the sound of a ringing phone, his phone. He pulls a mobile phone out of his pocket, glances at the screen before shaking his head to himself. Orion pulls the phone apart, stopping the ringing, and picks out the SIM card. He reaches down to place it in front of a wheel before leaning casually against his car and folding his arms in wait for Lara.
