The scene opens and here we are in the parking lot of what is known as "Da Garden" by the citizens of New York City, and what is also known as the most famous arena in all of sports by many others. Madison Square Garden, where legends are made and destroyed, where history happens and championships of all kinds are won and lost. It ALL happens here. It's certainly an imposing sight, standing tall and looking over the city with almost a glare of sorts. Our attention though mainly is not on the awe that the Garden instills us, rather it's the figure standing before us, his dark suit being illuminated by the single floodlamp that lights the parking area, that we are focusing on. His eyes are hidden by an equally black wide-brimmed hat, not unlike one you would see on a traveling missionary or somebody who just wants to keep their head warm. The figure remains motionless for a few moments... "Baptized by flame. Disfigured at the hands of the foulest evil that Lucifer ever has dared spawn. Humbled and humiliated at the hands of the supposed downtrodden in society. All of these things have happened to me in months past, but now...NOW....I descend upon thee once again." That voice barely above a whisper, that Irish accent that pours through to our very hearts and warms them like a mouthful of hot soup...could it be? The figure's head raises, finally showing us all those smoky grey eyes, and now we know that yes, this figure is Priest, the Irish Warrior of God that we all gave up for dead or permanently crippled after his unfortunate run here in FIW. His long snow-white locks once again tumble forth from underneath the hat, as we can also see the peice of his ear that was removed by Mr. Giggles, as well as the finger that was removed in FIW have been restored to him, although each have a gratuitous amount of scar tissue surrounding the wounds, as we can see. Priest: "I know now that what happened to me in all those months...I should not have survived. I had burns over ninety percent of my body. My finger, my ear were taken from me. However...I did not easily "roll over and die", as the Western term goes. Instead of sitting at my home in County Wicklow, nursin' my wounds, takin' my sponge baths and feelin' sorry for myself...I began the road to restoration. The best doctors in all Ireland worked tirelessly on me day and night to heal the burns, repair the wounds all over my battered form. As well, thanks to their deft hands and the kind hearts of brand new donors, my finger AND my ear were both restored to me. The last and most important thing however that I had to restore before I could make my return to the wrestling world where I truly belong...is my connection to God. Now.." Priest nods submissively for a moment, knowing 'God' is a word not welcome in some people's ears, crossing his arms lightly over himself. Priest: "Before I am judged, judge thyself, FIW. I know many of the competitors and fans who frequent this arena before me are not, nor do they ever want to be, those who hear God's voice and feel God's love. And I shall not hold them in contempt for this. But once I reawakened myself and heard God's call again...it was as though I was reborn. I was blind before. Arrogant. I considered myself God's most revered warrior and looked down upon those that I did not feel God blessed. 'Twas a grave mistake that I made, friends, for those misdeeds and mistakes that I made in FIW silenced me to God's word and deafened me to His True Instruction. The first thing He instructed me to do once I could hear him again was come HERE, come HERE and entertain those who come to watch this great promotion, as entertaining the masses and giving them a man to look up to was why God placed me upon this Earth. Though...He instructed me this time not to come alone. And that is why I have prepared the men that are closer to me than any human being has been in my lifetime to accompany me here. Men who will never betray me, never desert me, men who will stand beside me and fight to the utter, bitter end. My younger brothers. First.." Priest gently spreads his arms, as off to his right a man steps into view that is about as tall as Priest but he is absolutely ripped, wearing a sleeveless hoodie over a t-shirt and jeans with a cross around his neck. He pushes the hood off his head and now we can see his striking ice blue eyes, as well as his frosted blonde hair. Priest: "The littlest of our flock. Young Eoin McConnaigh...though those who don't quite have a grasp of the Irish language may call him Owen. I knew that when I was ready, when my body was healed enough to suffer the assault of the wrestling business again, the first thing I had to do was impart my knowledge to my brothers, so that when I am gone, they can carry on the McConnaigh name without fail. Eoin is the young master of the wrestling mat now--No man in Ireland, or Europe itself can match my little brother now hold for hold, reversal for reversal, strike for strike. He is already impressing me with his recent success in NGIW and in APW where he competes on a regular basis against some of America's best...and now I would suffice to say I would enjoy seeing who here in FIW can accomplish this feat, for as prepared as I have made Owen...that will be a Herculean effort in and of itself." Owen pounds a fist into his palm, smiling proudly at the camera as now it refocuses on Priest, his smoky grey eyes glinting with a fire of excitement almost as he rolls on with his charismatic speech. Priest: "Now...moving right along I would be honored to introduce our middle brother. He isn't older than me, nor is he younger than Owen, but he is certainly bigger than both of us. Finnegan?" On his request, a FREAKING IMMENSE human being steps into the camera to the left of Priest, a man standing just about seven feet tall and wearing black jeans and a black muscle shirt with a gold cross around his thick neck, the man is big enough that the camera has to tilt up a little bit just to catch the man known now as Finnegan's knowing grin, though even if he doesn't mean it, it looks absolutely sadistic. Priest: "Indeed, this man is the biggest of all the McConnaigh boys...Finnegan McConnaigh, or 'Big Finn' to his friends and fans. All over Ireland tales are told of my brother Finnegan's inhuman strength, from the time he bodyslammed two men at once** in one match, to the time he lifted the front of a bus just enough to allow a man who had been hit by the bus to escape. His power is not to be trifled with, FIW...especially when infuriated. And nay, I do not have any amusing anecdotes as far as that goes. If you wish to truly see the height of Finn's strength, then I empower you to anger him and see what the consequences are." Now that the three are visible before us, Priest steps forward slightly, getting all three in the shot as he flourishes behind him. Priest: "Together, we are hailed as The Saints of South Ireland. Not only for our legendary accomplishments in Ireland and the rest of Europe, but also for the fact that no matter what lengths we go to, no matter how much blood we spill, whether 'tis our own or the blood of our adversaries, we will fight for what little that is good and right in this world. We promised this before our Lord, we promised this with our hearts, minds, bodies and souls, and we shall upkeep this promise, so help us God." He smiles a fanged smile, those sharpened canines once again visible in Priest's jaw as Owen and Finn share a cohesive high knuckle touch behind him. Priest: "I have returned to the wrestling world, I have been reborn into this warzone of competition, bloodshed, warfare an' glory...and this time I am not alone. We now leave ye' for the time being with the one request we ask of all of FIW, whether they do it willingly, or we do it for them." Now, he steps back, and all three together raise a fist and slam it against their hearts. The Saints: "Faugh an Beallach!!"*** Fade. ** - This was during a contest in an independent Irish promotion, where Finn was involved in a triple threat match. His two opponents were tangled up in a sleeper hold, and one had jumped onto the other's back to intensify the pressure. Finn staggered over as it had been a physically taxing match indeed, and with every last bit of strength he could muster in that huge body of his, he scooped both men up and slammed them down with the attacking wrestler still hanging onto the hold. *** - "Clear The Way!". This saying has been made famous as the motto of the The 69th Infantry Regiment (Light), or the Fighting 69th. |
