We fade in to find Grant Rice making his way through one of the many hallways in the arena, he looks to have just arrived as he carries a bag with him, the Undisputed International Championship along for the ride as it rests on his shoulder. Step after step, he comes closer to his destination which is, well... I would assume the locker room seeing as he still had his bag, doubt he would carry it around all night. He slows, unclear why. Well, at least until the camera man that was back stepping with each forward Rice step stops as well as pans to the side, we're met with an extreme close-up of one Jeff Noon, anxious he is. As the cameraman pulls back, we can see that Jeff Noon has camped out in front of the door that leads to Grant's locker room. We pan back over to Rice and he's clearly no pleased. Push him out the way why don't you! Okay, maybe not yet. Grant Rice: How long have you been waiting there? Jeff Noon begins to count on his fingers before he shrugs off his counting attempt. Jeff Noon: Couple hours, maybe more? With reason, this draws a shake of the head from Grant Rice. Grant Rice: ... and I thought I had a psycho stalker in 'Blood Red Sandman.' Damn. Grant takes a few more steps forward with a roll of the eyes, he clearly would like to get into the room, but the hint goes right over Noon's head. Jeff Noon: Well, I've been waiting here to ask you about your actions and words from last weeks ReVolt. A sigh is released by Grant as he realizes he's not getting into the room anytime soon unless he physically removes Jeff from his way. Grant Rice: I'll make you a deal, I'll give you a little bit, but you will then have to get the hell out of my way. The proposed deal brings a look of confusion from Jeff Noon. He then turns his head, his body following suit, until he catches a glimpse of the door behind him. I think he forgot that he was standing in front of the door. Jeff Noon: Oh, right. Okay, sounds good to me. Jeff smiles, happy he'll be getting a scoop from Rice... or maybe he's just happy that Rice didn't just push him out the way like I suggested he do earlier. Grant Rice: One of the factors behind my attack on Kiyoshi and subsequent challenge goes back to words I spoke after A Very ReVolting Christmas, after the Grand Prix. I pointed out that I hadn't become complacent with my position as the Undisputed International Champion. That still rings true. I work to improve myself, what better way to do just that then to challenge the Dual Crown Champion? Rice looks to have thoughts running through his head, is he thinking of a better way? Maybe he's thinking of something else. Grant Rice: My challenge to Kiyoshi does leave a rather sticky situation. What becomes of Colbert's opportunity at my championship, at the same Pay-Per-View I've challenged Kiyoshi no less. I can honestly say I could care less what management works out for this little problem. Hell, double book me, I'll do what Prime couldn't. Whoa, bold statement. Certainly a cocky one, perhaps that's why a grin crept onto his face. Grant Rice: That's all in the future though, ReVolt is right in front of us. Kiyoshi & Grant Rice, right there, Colbert & Rice, right there. He pauses for a moment. Grant Rice: Jeff Noon, right there... Grant Rice stares at Jeff Noon. Grant Rice: You've got your taste of my reasoning, you've gotten a taste of my feelings on Colbert & his title shot. The 'sampler' has been dropped, the full 'album' is yet to come. Maybe it drops this Tuesday alongside the Jaime Lee DVD, though that would be tough competition seeing as 'Everyone Loves Jaime Lee,' the DVD would probably follow suit with it's subject and beat me so that might not be the best date to go with. However, one thing is for certain, you're still in my way. Jeff Noon stares back at Grant Rice nervously, Rice takes a step forward and Noon flinches, when he realizes that Rice isn't trying to strike him, he jumps out of the way of the door which makes Rice happy. Jeff Noon: Okay, when you want to talk further, you can always come find me. Noon smiles, though it only draws a roll of the eyes from Rice as he walks past Jeff and into the locker room, finally. I guess we might as well fade. |
