Lara Toni may be the Hellcat Champion but she’s a beaten-up titleholder at the moment as she has a large bruise on her face where a Gatito jacked her jaw. Lara is entering a hotel accompanied by her manager, ‘Jericho’.

Jericho: I would like to be in the presence of your company at eight ‘o’ clock tomorrow morning. Is that acceptable?

Lara: Make it ten. I want a lie-in.

The Hellcat Champion feels a hand on her shoulder and her manager pulls her around to face him, Jericho does not look impressed with Lara’s quip.

Jericho: Let me tell you something, my sweet. I am a very rich man. I go where I please and I do whatever takes my fancy, savvy? Do you think that I became the character that I am by being late for scheduled events?

Lara: No. You got there by backstabbing and ass kissing.

Jericho: That may be true, my sweet, but I started those things promptly at eight. The same time that you will grace me with your…

His head tips down to take in Lara’s appearance and he breathes in loudly. His Southern accent does not endear him to the Hellcat Sensation.

Jericho: …intoxicating enchantment.

Lara: Ew. New low.

Jericho: What is my rule about sarcasm? That little tap on your chin only buys you a certain amount of sympathy after you struck my project’s opponent with a chair and thus have forfeited me a winner’s share of a purse. I had something of a bad night tonight but in the cold light of day, we shall review the occurrences. Now you disappear off to your room and when the sun comes up we’ll see just whether you can compete this week on ReVolt.

He tilts Lara’s head to the left as he reviews the large mark on her face. She knocks his hand away.

Lara: Number one, unless I’m dead I’m competing next Monday. And number two, as it happens I’ve got to go see somebody right now so I’ll see you tomorrow.

After giving Lara a small bow, Jericho heads to reception to pick up his key. Lara heads up a flight of stairs and finds a corridor of numbered doors. A maid pushing a trolley full of towels approaches.

Lara: Excuse me?

The maid stops and Lara produces a scratty piece of folded paper from her back pocket. She opens it and shows it to the maid.

Lara: Do you know where this room is?

The maid points a few doors down the corridor. Lara thanks her and rushes to where she was pointing. Apparently finding the room she’s after, Lara waits for the maid to disappear around the corner. The young Hellcat takes in a deep breath and knocks on the door. After a moment without an answer, she knocks for a second time and then leans close to the doorframe.

Lara: Jaime? Are you there? It’s Lara. Jaime?

The door is abruptly pulled open, causing Lara to jerk back in surprise. Not surprisingly though, it is Jaime Lee standing on the other side. The former champion looks the current champion up and down, greeting her with a less than friendly expression on her face. Does she have resentment towards Lara losing their match? Or is it jealousy over that championship?

Jaime: Hey.

The nonchalant welcome seems to be all that Jaime has for Lara before turning back into her room and stepping away from the door. It’s then that we notice she’s got her cell phone in her hand. She glances at the menu screen before pressing a button and closing the phone up. Was she just in the middle of a phone call with Adam Wilson? Or maybe she was trying to get a hold of one of her opponents this coming week?

Jaime: You coming in, or what?

Jaime finally glances back towards the door, spotting Lara still standing in the hallway. Too polite to come in uninvited maybe? Either way, Lara take the invitation after it’s extended and steps into the room.

Jaime: So I’m guessing you’re here to discuss our match this week? And I really don’t have a lot to say about it.

She tosses the cell phone onto the bed and turns her full attention to Lara. She crosses her arms over her chest and takes a deep breath.

Jaime: Best I can tell, Xtreme Kitten is obsessed with me. I didn’t ask for this match and I most certainly don’t want this match. Not sure where people got that misconception. I don’t like Xtreme Kitten but I also don’t want to beat the crap out of him.

Interesting. Then why did the card say Jaime asked for this match? Interesting indeed.

Jaime: You see, I don’t know what’s going on with Lucy and Xtreme Kitten. I think they’re both pathetic and I’m actually sick and tired of them altogether. Lucy tried to step up to me and got her ass handed to her because… well, she sucks. Xtreme Kitten doesn’t like seeing his ring rat getting kicked around so he comes and kicks me around. But I’m not looking forward to circling around and around again. Because you see, either I lose to Xtreme Kitten so that they’ll finally leave me alone, or I kick the crap out of him once more and he just continues to be obsessed with me.

Wow. Some options. But that’s pretty much the case when it comes to fighting Xtreme Kitten, isn’t it?

Jaime: Regardless of the circumstances, Lucy isn’t going to be happy unless Kitten knocks me out. And Kitten isn’t going to be happy if his piece of ass isn’t happy. So…

Jaime simply shrugs her shoulders. Is she trying to tell Lara in so many words that she’s throwing the match this week? And why did she purposely ignore the topic of Xtreme Kitten’s tag team partner?

Lara: Look, I just wanted to clear things up just in case there’s some misunderstanding about what I said last week. My words were twisted, somehow things came out wrong and it wasn’t my intention to say that you were old news as far as the Hellcat Championship is concerned. I’m really sorry about any misunderstanding.

Jaime hardly looks bothered, her stance has not altered since she herself finished talking and Lara took up the verbal baton.

Lara: I’ve not really had much experience talking to the interviewers around here. It was like my third ever interview on my own, I’m starting to learn when to say things and when not to but I’m not good at this talking thing. So far Orion’s been there and now Jericho to make sure I’m saying things that I should be but…

The Champ trails off, she’s even unsure what she should be saying right now which is a shame and the poor girl shakes it loose. Although not literally, the bruise on her face from where a Gatito planted his foot is still rather visible.

Lara: The match against Surreality TV, all my fault. I am so sorry that I let us down, I even let the entire Hellcat division down but I guess that’s just us two right now since Roxie is away licking her wounds and Hembra kind of disappeared. I don’t know it happened, one minute we were looking good and working well but the next thing I knew I was down for the count.

She shrugs, not in a ‘caught between a rock and a hard place’ way like Jaime but more of a frustrated shrug like she’s a bit confused with how things went down on Sunday.

Lara: I know I’m still pretty new around here and you’ve got loads of experience but if you want my advice…don’t give up! Yeah Lucy’s got a thing for you getting beat up and Xtreme Kitten will do whatever he can to make his special person happy but you’re Jaime Lee. You’re the former Hellcat Champion and the one who put this title on the map.

It might be an attempt to play to Jaime’s ego, it might be genuine but Lara has conviction in her voice and she sounds like she really believes what she is saying.

Lara: So what if Xtreme Kitten wants your blood? Take his! The moment you give up the fight is the moment you get seriously hurt. I’ve only been here a couple of months but even I know that. He might come back time and time again for you but who’s to say it’ll be him knocking you out? And who knows whether a loss is the answer? He might not even leave you alone after that!

The Hellcat Queenpin throws her arms out to her side to put an exclamation her point, hoping that Jaime will rediscover motivation for their tag match.

Lara: If I were him, I wouldn’t be thinking that you’ll be an easy knock out and I guess soon I will be him. I’m a complete idiot. I’ve got the belt and it’s eventually going to come down to a match between us because right now we’re the only two left. This week, like last week, we’re tag team partners and hell, you may just be the best tag team partner that I’ve ever had but it’s one match at a time.

A slow realisation has set in on Lara that she will have to defend against Jaime and while that’ll probably be the toughest match of her career so far, for now it’s much better to have a team effort rather than divide and fall.

Lara: You’ve got your issues with Xtreme Kitten and from what I hear, Extreme Ninja #2 aswell and I don’t even want to get into those. All I know is that I don’t want you to pull a Prime on me and not show up for a match. I’ll back you up all the way and I’ll between you and XK if I have to but I need to know that you’re gonna be out there fighting hard for our team. Can I at least have your word on that?

Toni holds out her hand for Jaime to shake, whether she will or not is up in the air.

After much consideration for everything Lara Toni has just rattled off as it concerns Xtreme Kitten, Team Hellcat, and the championship, Jaime actually reaches forward and shakes Lara’s hand. The moment is quickly ended though as Jaime grips her hand tightly and jerks the champion towards her. Keeping a firm grasp on Lara’s hand, Jaime stares her partner in the eyes.

Jaime: First things first, you’re nothing like Xtreme Kitten. When you and I meet for the championship, I’ll have the comfort of knowing you’re not a hypocrite. I know you won’t preach one thing and then do the exact opposite to me.

Obviously that would be a shot at Xtreme Kitten constantly saying that he doesn’t agree with the use of weapons and then using a steel chain to batter her at Anarchy In The UK.

Jaime: Because regardless of the many reasons he can muster up to explain himself, none of it changes the fact that he is a hypocrite. I’ve never trusted him and I’ll never trust him. But you…

Jaime finally releases the hold on Lara’s hand with a touch of aggression as she pushes Lara’s hand back towards the champion in the break.

Jaime: You’ve still got my trust.

She turns her back on Lara, making her way back over to the bed and snatching up her cell phone. A quick glance of the screen later, she casts a stare at Lara over her shoulder.

Jaime: For now.

Jaime flips the cell phone open and punches in a quick text message before sending it to it’s destination. To Adam? To Ninja? Perhaps to someone else entirely? She snaps it closed and turns back towards Lara.

Jaime: I don’t blame you for our loss last week. But this week is going to be entirely different. I know I didn’t request this match so my money is saying that Lucy had a hand in it. And if that’s what she wants then I guess I’ll follow suit with Xtreme Kitten and make her happy. But it won’t be because I let Xtreme Kitten rough me up again. The scars fade as you can see. But the fact that I beat him, that’s not going away.

She casts a quick glance down at her phone, slightly disheartened to find no immediate response from whoever she sent that message to.

Jaime: And as far as Extreme Ninja #2 goes…

Eventually Jaime brings her eyes back up to her tag team partner and reigning Hellcat Division Champion.

Jaime: You deserve to know that I’m not going to throw the first punch. I asked him to give me space and he decided that meant we shouldn’t be friend anymore or something like that. He’s given me nothing but space, even when I’ve tried to rebuild our friendship. It’s become obvious he doesn’t want to be friends with me anymore. But he’s not my enemy. Not unless he decides to fire the first shot this week.

Lara: I respect that. Here’s hoping we have a great match this week. I’m gonna head off, I’ve got an early start tomorrow morning. Stay safe.

Jaime nods her head and looks down at her phone once more anticipating something but based on a small sigh, she’s not got anything back. We follow Lara out of the room, she closes the door behind her and walks right into Jericho!

Jericho: Easy on the goods, darlin’.

The Hellcat Champ can’t help but crack a smile at the Southern pervert before her.

Jericho: I knew you’d warm up to me eventually.

She shakes her head and laughs before side-stepping her manager and heading off down the corridor. He turns on a six-pence and follows close behind her. Playfully she rushes her feet and the man known only in FIW circles as ‘Jericho’ has to hustle to keep with his athletic charge. Lara turns around and confronts Jericho, who takes up a casual pose leaning against a wall.

Lara: Can I do something for you?

Jericho: Well, now you mention it my sweet…

Lara: You are disgusting.

Jericho: Yes I am, thank you very much. But right now, I’ve got something to show you.

Lara: I don’t think so somehow.

Lara turns to walk away but Jericho grabs her by the arm and manouvres her into a conveniently placed hotel room. She rears back to hit him but instead pulls back. Her attention has been caught by a flickering television, on it is a still of the tag match featuring Jaime & Lara vs. Surreality TV.

Lara: What’s this?

Jericho: Evidence. Now I’m not one to develop a singing voice but…

Lara takes a seat as Jericho picks up the remote. He clicks it into play…

Quote:

With Oro shaken, Jaime wrenches his arm, and goes to hook her leg over it, when Oro once again takes her legs out, tagging in Negro, who once again launches himself off Oro's shoulders with a somersault leg drop. The two men raise her to her feet, and whip her to the ropes, only for Jaime to duck past their double superkick, and Lara makes the blind tag, bounding over the ropes and clotheslining the two of them to the mat.

Jericho pauses the tape at a moment when the camera is focused on Jaime Lee’s face, she looks little miffed but surely that’s more to do with the fact that her time in the ring was over rather than the blind tag.

Jericho: You can feel the jealousy. The bitch is boring a hole through your pretty face!

Lara: But I don’t think…(cut off)

Jericho: You do not need to think! I am the one who the thinking should be a common denominator for. You, my sweet, are the wrestler. I didn’t want to have to tell you about this…

Lara: What?

Lara is suckered in by Jericho’s effort of mystery.

Jericho: My sources around the backstage area have revealed something very surprising to me. Jaime Lee has become obsessed with regaining the Hellcat Championship! She will do anything to win it back, including turning her back on you this week on ReVolt!

Lara starts to laugh. Wondering what’s funny, Jericho looks on with a puzzled expression across his weathered face.

Jericho: And what might be funny?

Lara: We just talked about that very thing! Jaime was very honest about it, she said that we would eventually fight and she could rely on me not to be a hypocrite like Xtreme Kitten.

Now it’s Jericho’s turn to laugh in his snide Southern drawl.

Jericho: And you believed that did you? My sweet, you are the most naïve person I have ever come across. Jaime Lee can’t be trusted. She has been all over the backstage area lobbying for a title shot.

Lara: So what if she has? Jaime deserves another chance at this belt and when the match is made, I’m sure it’ll be a classic wrestling match.

Jericho: Oh, of course! But did she tell you that she has been saying that she could beat you anytime and anyplace????

Lara is taken aback a little. Sensing that Lara is hesitant, Jericho pounces on her…figuratively.

Jericho: See now that is the type of underhanded individual you will be teaming with this week. But if you want my advice…

A confused Toni nods, slowly and meekly.

Jericho: Stick with her this week. You don’t want to end up like that Kennedy doll almost did this past week do you? Look, we can deal with her mistrust in the future.

The Hellcat Queenpin looks a little hurt as Jericho helps her to her feet and shows her to the door.

Jericho: I’ll be seeing you tomorrow, my sweet.

He opens the door for Lara and she slowly walks through it, still unsure about who to trust. Jericho closes the door and grins a toothy grin.
