Long after Lara Toni has retreated to her own hotel room (after all, she has a meeting with Jericho bright and early) and long after everyone else should probably be nestled warm in their beds, Jaime Lee is far from dreaming of sugar plums dancing in her head. The former Hellcat Division Champion is fully dressed in blue jeans and navy blue midriff top, slipping her jean jacket over her shoulders. Her boot-clad feet carry her from the room after a moment of hesitation.

With the door closed tightly behind her, she makes her way down the hallway towards whatever destination she has in mind. Maybe she’s just heading out for a midnight stroll. Either way, she wraps her arms tightly around herself and heads for the elevators… that is, until something catches her eye. A door? With another moment of hesitation and a deep breath, she moves over to the door and gives it a hard knock.

The Hellcat is left standing there before the wooden door for what seems like eternity. However just before she might get the idea 'no ones home,' the door slowly pulls open. Who is it on the other side? Probably not who you think as the door pulls open enough to reveal the occupant of the room. Grant Rice. He stands before Jaime in his 'wifebeater' and jeans. He's somewhat puzzled by the person before him, raking his brain for a reason why the young lady could be knocking on his door. He doesn't ponder long though, he doesn't want to be rude, so he decides he should speak.

Grant Rice: Jaime?

Jaime: Hi.

Her greeting comes rather sudden and sounds maybe even a little last minute. Did she have a reason for knocking on this particular door? Did she maybe think it was someone else and is now having to rework what she was going to say?

Jaime: I’m sorry if I woke you. I just wanted to say… be careful.

If Grant was puzzled by her appearance at his door, that statement certainly didn't help piece the puzzle together any better. He hesitates to respond, perhaps trying to piece said puzzle together in his head before going any further, how much luck he's having with that is uncertain however. Though, he speaks, don't want to have some long awkward pauses now do we?

Grant Rice: No worries, I was actually still up. However, what is it I'm to be careful of?

Jaime: Vinj. I mean, I know you can probably take care of yourself and everything but just… so could Adam.

The last statement, after yet another a moment of hesitation, draws Jaime’s gaze downward. Doing her best to avoid those same long awkward pauses, she immediately forces her eyes back up to Grant.

Jaime: He’s just a dangerous person. And I know I didn’t exactly help you out with Tier like I wanted to, but I still thought I should at least try here.

The mere mention of Tier and Grant involvement with him sends a tinge of uneasiness through Jaime. Could she be finding it not so pleasant to be in the presence of a killer?

The topic of Tier doesn't exaclty make Rice jump for joy. Does he still feel bad for what he was basically forced to do? Maybe it's not Tier who hangs over his head but rather the upcoming meeting with Vinj.

Grant Rice: You don't have to feel bad about the Tier situation. While your attempt to help me may not have shown an effect on the events that followed, it still meant something, meant something to me at least. I would like to think that if not for someone showing they cared enough to say something, I may have been standing here today bragging about what I was forced to do instead of feeling bad about it. For that, I think I should really thank you.

Grant takes in a deep breath, slowly letting it out. Perhaps he tries to let some of the guilt he feels for his actions in regards to Tier fade away with each square inch of used air that escapes his body.

Grant Rice: Even though many would feel I have nothing to be afraid of given my recent actions, Vinj actually does scare me a little. It's hard to look past what he's done to Adam, heck, what he's done in general.

Grant stops, I don't think he was done with his thought as he didn't say much about the Vinj situation, but he stops no less. Why? Maybe he just wanted to take a moment to take in the sight of the attractive young lady at his door, maybe he realized that he's rambled and given how late it is he might be keeping Jaime from other things such as sleep, maybe he just simply lost his train of thought.

Once again Jaime finds herself unable to look up at the proclaimed Kansas City Killer. Is it because he’s now considered a killer, or because Adam’s name has once again be brought up? Perhaps every mention of that name forces back the memories of what transpired the last time she was with him. That’s not exactly something to be forgotten about, one would assume.

Jaime: You’re welcome.

Forcing herself to look up, she puts a smile on her face. Whether it’s forced or not, there’s a smile there. But her body language does everything to try and convince us that it’s indeed forced.

Jaime: And I do have somewhere to be so, I just wanted to make sure that you’re careful. I’d hate to see this match end the way Vinj’s attack on Adam ended. Or the way…

Instantly she regrets whatever it is she was going to say and cuts herself off. The smile we all questioned was forced, it because obvious that it’s forced as it blatantly grows into it. Was she going to say she’d hate for this match to end the way Grant’s did with Tier?

Jaime: I have somewhere to be.

She repeats herself as it seems to be the only thing she can think to say and backs away from the door in the process. With another “cheery” smile she turns away from the door and heads down the hall, still having unfinished business tonight?
