Ash
Capt. Ash Kapow~!
[ * * * * * ]
I love this city always.
The scene fades in from darkness to a poorly lit corridor that travels upward into shadows. The walls are narrow and decaying, whilst above is a ceiling made from rotten wooden slats, through which natural sunlight is barely peeking through. Trailing down the corridor toward the camera, clinging to the rope supports either side of him, is the Fighting Spirit Champion. Wearing black cargo pants, a white t-shirt and a long, brown trench-coat - which the Fighting Spirit Championship belt barely peeks through - Ash greets the camera with a smirk and comes to a stop a few feet from the lens. Touching the wall to his right, Ash looks around and admires the scene.

Ash: "Mary Kings Close. The underground slums of Edinburgh."

Turning his gaze to the camera, Ash shows a serious expression on his face.

Ash: "Constructed in the seventeenth century as mass accommodation for the growing population of Edinburgh. At some point in time, they were built over so that the Royal Exchange could stand on level ground. Key phrase being 'built over', rather than replaced. Literally, a roof was built over the streets to create an entirely new level. The tenements remained intact, as they do now. And up until one hundred years ago, they were still often occupied by the poor, the homeless and the diseased. In near constant darkness, with the only light coming from between the cracks in the wood and the occasional gas lamp, you could imagine it being referred as Hell on Earth."

A slight smirk creeps onto Ash's face.

Ash: "Like everything historical, it's been exploited for commercial success. People actually pay to come underground and look around these rooms. People pay to get a guided tour of a history that very few people can comprehend, let alone describe to other people in a number of different languages. From far and wide, people pay for something impressive and unique."

Admiring his surroundings, Ash nods to himself before turning his focus to the camera once more.

Ash: "Much like people are going to see Prime as Dual Crown Champion. Paying to see something impressive. Something unique. You will be hard-pressed to find anyone like Prime in the wrestling industry. Big. Strong. Agile. And just like Mary Kings Close, being manipulated for marketing purposes. And that's fine, because I support the idea of small businesses in the community. If Smark wants to be shepherd to massive, freak sheep, he's more than welcome to them. I'm not here to tell you to change your lifestyle coach, Prime, or to get a bigger slice of the pie for yourself. To be honest, if I were you, I'd listen to Smark more often. He guided you to the Dual Crown and, so long as he is in your ear, you have a much greater chance of retaining it."

Trailing off for a moment, Ash considers his words before looking into the camera.

Ash: "Not against me, of course. I pose no threat to your reign as Dual Crown Champion. Not this week, at least. I am not in line for a shot, so that will not come into the equation on Sunday. However, if ever I am granted an opportunity to add more to the collection.."

Pulling his coat aside, Ash reveals the entire centre medallion of the Fighting Spirit Championship, though it barely shimmers under the dim light.

Ash: "I do, however, have a question for you, Prime. Your name. It seems to carry a message of uncertainty. Perhaps even confusion with a hint of irony. Prime can be defined as being that of utmost excellence and quality. Essentially, Prime can be defined as being the top dog; being number one. And with all of your abilities, your belts and your management team, I'd say that could well be true. Everything is on your side and the world is an oyster in your back pocket. All in all, Prime is number one."

Holding up his right hand, Ash extends his right index finger, indicating number one.

Ash: "But."

And with that, a big smirk spreads across his face.

Ash: "But it can also refer to prime numbers. And I hate to break this to you, big guy, but one is not a prime number. Theoretically, you cannot be divided by two distinct numbers; only one. The first prime number is two. Prime is number one, yet by the laws of mathematics, Prime cannot be number one. A contradiction in terms. A riddle wrapped in muscles. And that leaves me wondering, are you number one or are you number two? Prime; one or two? One or two?"

Keeping hold of the rope support with his left hand, Ash buries his right hand in his coat pocket.

Ash: "As Dual Crown Champion, are you the feather in Smark's cap? Are you number one, Prime? Or are you just playing second fiddle to your super agent? Is Smark number one? Are you number two, Prime?"

With a smirk on his face, Ash takes a few steps forward.

Ash: "More importantly, I think, am I number one or number two? Our match on Sunday will determine your number, Prime. If you can beat me, I guess that makes you an illogical number one, whilst I wallow at number two. But, if I can beat you - make you tap all over again - then I will be number one and you will be number two. I will stand tall upon Castle Rock, admiring the view from Edinburgh Castle, and you will wallow in Nor Loch below. You will be my second, Prime. And my first."

Moving closer to the camera, Ash forces the lens to zoom back in order to keep his face in the shot.

Ash: "My second in comparison to my abilities. And my first notch. You say I am a man who happens to just 'be'. Here because I was picked by your agent. Here because you have beaten the rest. Some call that being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Some call it fate. I, however, call it your own bad luck. It is you, Prime, who will be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It is you who has been placed in my path of destruction. You are on my road to glory and I will knock you off course, Prime. Regardless of what your agent feeds you, be it words or magic beans, there is nothing you can do to quell my Fighting Spirit. The belt lives in my soul. And my soul lives on my fists."

Continuing to move closer still, the camera lens is unable to zoom back any further, resulting in Ash's face taking up the entire screen.

Ash: "I wish you well, number two."

With that said, Ash stifles a chuckle and forces a smirk instead. He holds his gaze with the camera for a few moments, then reaches out with his right hand and grabs the rope support before continuing his way down the narrow corridor of Mary Kings Close and out of sight.
