Ease the mind of another; And hopefully the financial crisis

Xtreme Kitten
Extremely Ordinary
[ * * * ]
[The scene is Xtreme Kitten and Lucy sitting on a couch in a locker room. Xtreme Kitten has on a white business shirt, expensive black slacks that go with the black waist coat he has on as well as the loosely done black neck tie and the suit jacket that rests folded on the arm of the couch, his feet are bare and as usual he has his mask on. Lucy is dressed some what unusual in a red version of her big match attire. The pair look at the camera]

XK: That was quick.

Lucy: Well when you don't speak for a week, leave a member of the roster bloody and grasping for breath then wait days to speak I guess the suspense starts to build up making people more anxious to hear what you have to say.

XK: Excellent, I must shut up more often.

[Lucy glares at Kitten, that obviously wasn't her point]

XK: Okay then, where to start so much has happened. Adelaide United lost another final.

[Lucy's glare grows more intense]

XK: How about we talk about the event?

[Lucy ever so subtly nods. Kitten looks at the camera]

XK: Sunday is the one hundredth ReVolt, of course that first ReVolt never should have counted because it had no real audience appeal, I wasn't booked in a match. I did manage to get some camera time to save the show but really, I should have been on the show.

[Lucy grabs Kitten's attention]

Lucy: How about we talk more about that is happening on the event?

XK: You mean the battle royal that will sort out the card?

Lucy: Yes.

XK: The battle royal that will guarantee the winner a shot at the Dual Crown Championship?

Lucy: There is only one battle royal on the show.

[Kitten thinks about it then nods slowly]

XK: Indeed. Well what's there to talk about? I guess you want me to talk about all the rumblings coming from Smarty Smark and Smark?

Lucy: Yes, otherwise all that footage we watched will be for nothing.

XK: Can't have that now.

[Xtreme Kitten looks at the camera again]

XK: For starters Prime seems to be fretting about not knowing who his challenger could be.

[Lucy nods]

Lucy: It could be anyone in the ReVolt Rumble.

[Watching Lucy, Kitten shakes his head]

XK: But it wont be anyone.

[Kitten turns to the camera and points at himself]

XK: It'll be this one. Does that make it easier for you Prime? Does it ease the mind to know that the person you'll be standing across from is me? It should, no more unknown and the certainty that the next time a situation like this pops up you won't have to worry about who it could be, I will.

Lucy: Depending on what number you pull there is a good chance it won't be you.

[Kitten rolls his eyes then turns to Lucy]

XK: I'll get to my problems in the match later but let's say for the sake of argument I don't win the battle royal.

[Kitten looks at the camera]

XK: And it's only for argument sake because it will be me Prime. You will know who the challenger is at the same time everyone else finds out, even the challenger. I can tell you most participants aren't getting ready for a match with you, they aren't preparing for you, they are setting themselves up for battle royal, after all it is the biggest hurdle. When the battle royal is over they will have as much time to get ready for the championship match as you and they will have the disadvantage of having gone through the battle royal. Of course when I make my way through that match and onto the championship match, it won't matter that I've gone through a battle royal of the scale of this one because I'll have you as my opponent.

Now Smarty said something interesting, not what you do best is winning and that's what'll happen at the end of the show, that was funny in a sad kind of way. From recollection, what your best at is posing, recovering from plastic surgery and being at the mercy of the officials while I continually pummel you.

Lucy: Selective memory.

XK: No, I remember getting pinfalls on him as well as him winning that tag match once after shady happening and that unfortunate incident where he won a singles match against me by no action of his own. All I'm saying is posing, plastic surgery and relying on officials to save him from the big bad Kitten bashing him are the things he is best at.

[Lucy lets it sink in]

Lucy: Fair enough, that's your opinion but what about this interesting this Smarty said? Because it slipped by me.

XK: That people will be fighting desperate and taking desperate measure for any better odds at success and it got me thinking about two things. Firstly of something I'll discuss later and secondly of just how desperate things have gotten. Economies all around the world have faltered, the financial numbers are dipping everywhere and so has the stock of the Dual Crown in an eerie parallel. Since Phil lost the Dual Crown to Kiyoshi everything has slipped, Nakahaha tried his best but like the economy so many countries he faltered and it's been a fast ride down hill with nary sign it'll stop. Liam 'Ducky me' Mortell, Ethan Adams, Grant 'Got out of Dodge' Rice and now the latest lame duck. FIW is desperate for a champion of stature, a champion of skill like the Politicians are desperate for anything to turn financial figures around.

Lucy: Phew, for a second there I thought you were going to blame the global financial crisis on the fact that you aren't champion.

[Kitten stares at Lucy]

XK: Well me not being champion hasn't helped, at least with me as champion there would be more butts in seats and everything that goes with that like transport costs, merchandise sales, concession sales, even maintenance would benefit, they would have more to clean up meaning more money in their pockets. Plus with more people at shows that means more word of mouth, more people wanting to attend but do get tickets, more people watching at home, higher ratings means more money through advertisers and those advertisers would see greater return because of the number of people watching.

[Kitten turns to the camera]

XK: Okay people I'm sorry for the recession, economic slow down, economic down turn or whatever else people are calling it but be assured I will do everything I can to make sure it gets turned around.

[Lucy rolls her eyes]

Lucy: As if turning this company around could help.

[Kitten looks at Lucy]

XK: You wait and see I'm getting good at predicting things.

Lucy: Name one thing you've predicted recently

XK: The warm and fuzzies I got from beating Jim, which reminds me.

[Kitten turns to the camera]

XK: Jim, I'd like to thank you for putting up a rather minimal fuss, I mean trying to get yourself disqualified was a bit silly, I mean if I hadn't got what I wanted then I would have just continued after you. Eventually you came to your senses and took what you had coming and showed me that despite you being a despicable human being who doesn't deserve even a share of his lot in life that sometimes you are capable of doing the right thing. Which brings me to my next thank you, I would like to thank Jim and company in advance for doing what is right for business and possibly the world economy and staying right the fuck out of it.

Speaking of out of it, I see getting the kicking he deserved last week hasn't shut Chris Cage up any, that's good because it wasn't what I was going for. I mean he came out of the gates this week and gave Prime a verbal slap in the face. It didn't make him any smarter though which perhaps means I failed with what I was trying to do, time will tell. What makes me think you didn't smarten up Chris, is your words. See I wish I was the façade of what FIW is, I wish I was a archetype on which this company was built but right now I'm only the model for what it can and should be. Unlike most of the Smarty Smark and Smark client list, I'm not some hack that has to rely on allies, weapons and generally underhanded tactics to win matches. I'm a professional, I fight clean and I fight better then anyone else in the company, the world for that matter.

I know what you're thinking Chris, if I'm the poster boy for fair play and clean fighting doesn't last week prove I'm a hypocrite. Well I am but not about this, I wouldn't have had the chain with me if it was a match, it wasn't though. What that was is the consequence of harming Lucy. It wasn't about me, it had nothing to do with you jumping me. People jump me all the time so much so that I stopped bothering to watch my back for punk bitches like you trying to get a leg up. I mean eventually everyone gets put in front of me and I get to have my way with them in my favourite setting, the ring and I get my personal revenge there.

Lucy: What about Ethan Adams you went after him a few times outside of matches?

[Xtreme Kitten glares at Lucy obviously not wanting to talk about Ethan, he looks back to the camera]

XK: Chris, your attempt to make a name for yourself, your little stunt and your threat of reprisal don't phase me. Eventually it'll end up you standing in front of me, no sneak attacks, no chairs, no chain and you will be the one hoping for mercy, lucky for you the referees around here have plenty.

Lucy: As for the comments about my place Chris, see I don't mind being around the conflict and I don't mind being in the thick of it, in fact, I rather enjoy seeing consequences for people bringing me in it.

XK: Now back to Prime in this game of one-upmanship you imagine going on between you and Chris what is it you see him aiming for being more pathetic than you? Because I mean I've only known of him for a week and in that week he attacked Lucy and I and I still think he's a better person and competitor than you. Full disclosure, I haven't actually seen Chris compete.

Speaking of competing, the first this that Smarty's statement made me think about, my problems with the match. Desperate people do desperate things and will forge alliances that were unlikely or weren't of for any chance to get closer to winning the match. That desperation and the things it causes people to do is my problem. Some of you might not know this but I have a lot of enemies and I don't play well with others-

[Lucy cuts Kitten off]

Lucy: No, everyone knows that.

[Kitten turns to Lucy]

XK: Chris Cage mightn't, he barely even knows the people he is associated with.,

Lucy: Believe me by now, he'd figured it out.

XK: Whatever.

[Kitten looks back at the camera]

XK: But don't worry, I have a plan to stifle these issues and give me the greatest chance of success. Oh, Chris and Smarty, don't forget the meeting this week we will have a lot of business to discuss.

[End of footage]
