Sweatier than a Japanese beaver (you know, ‘cause it’s hard working? Get it? Yeah, we’ll move on.) Toby Bostock hurries through the backstage area looking for those last minute interviews. Luckily for him that tonight will be an especially busy night as almost everyone will clearly have those last minute comments about who’ll do what and retorts to who said something and all that other last minute stuff. I guess that really means it’s almost time for Kai to get serious then, huh? What? He did? It’s an early Christmas miracle! Though feeling as pressured as ever before, Toby stops and looks in wonderment at what he finds sitting on the floor in front of him. With all the running around of making sure that this hundredth edition of ReVolt goes off without a hitch mixed in with the superstars getting in their last minute stress filled comments, is Roxie seated with her back against the floor and her ass on the floor. A small bottle of apple juice (yes, Snapple brand) rests by her as Roxie eyes around the busy hall keeping her feet close to her as she sits cross legged next to a pile of wound cables. Toby has to see just what this is all about as he manages himself through the sea of anxiety attacks and near nervous breakdowns to get to the one calm element in the area. Roxie doesn’t notice Toby standing by her until she turns to take a sip of her apple juice. A small smile appears on her face as Toby looks down at her possibly wondering why she’s chosen to sit here of all places…outside her locker room no less. In fact, Toby turns his head to the left and sees the locker room assigned to Roxie and a few other members of the roster. But instead of in there, here she is in front of him sitting on the floor. I’ve emphasised that quite a bit, huh? “Hi.” Finally managing to be the first to get a word in, Roxie plants the glass bottle down beside her and continues to smile. “Are you going to interview me?” Roxie’s question, as innocent sounding as it is, has Toby taken aback momentarily before he fully regains his bearings. “What? Oh, yeah.” A slight shake of the head seems needed as Toby waits for Roxie to rise up to her feet. A slight dusting on the ass, from herself, and she seems ready enough for an interview. Toby has to take a few more moments to come back to senses before finally managing to squeak out a question. “So as you can tell it’s gotten pretty busy here and—“ “Are you busy?” Roxie asks back suddenly. “Well, yes, as a matter of fact I’m quite busy. Rebecca’s working the draw and V’s with her and not many people seem to like talking to Jeff so I’m here pretty much all alone getting in last minute interviews. You know, asking people what they feel about their match and what not.” “Is that what you’re asking me now?” She’s a smart cookie, this one. She’s managed to take the notice of Toby saying he’s going around asking people about the match, added in the bit about this being an interview and came to the conclusion that he would be asking her about her thoughts on the match. Wow…if there were only a million more like her. “Yeah, um, if you don’t mind that is.” “Hm.” Roxie starts pressing the inside of her index finger to her chin. After a while though, Roxie turns toward Toby and shakes her head enough so he can see her ponytail fly from in the back. “I don’t really want to talk about the match right now.” “Oh.” And that’s all he can really say at this time as Roxie shoots down his question attempt. “Okay…what about opponents? Jenny? Brianna? …Macey? Any other participants you’d be watching out for?” Again Roxie has to think about it before returning with a shake of the head. “Nope. I just want to sit down and relax.” That little add on is pretty much spoken as Roxie turns to the rushing crowd where she alone seems to stand alone in the field of calm and serenity. Watching all of this has Roxie letting out a sigh as she slowly does indeed start to sit back down leaving Toby standing somewhat in disbelief. Though as she gets back into her previous position, Roxie slaps the hard tiled floor beside her offering Toby a spot. Toby at first seems rather hesitant to sit on the floor, especially given such a hectic night, but soon takes Roxie up on his offer. Besides, this’ll be the closest he’s ever been to her since being introduced with the handshake. They might actually look like a couple to the local area passers by. As soon as Toby sits down he instantly gets it, the reason why Roxie has chosen to sit here of all places. If she were sitting inside her changing room the word would go around that she isn’t ready and will be easy pickings. Sitting alone in some back corner will issue the same content about her stylings for the nights contest. But here, it at least shows that she’s more ready than ever. To sit and watch a frustrated group of people and softly drink apple juice while doing so? This way it’s rather hard to dictate just how ready she actually is. Is she ready to win? Or has she already accepted defeat? Toby has to look at Roxie in solid amazement. Never in a million years would he have suspected this kind of mental preparation from Roxie. The complete showing of calmness on her face, the eyes that slowly look from one person to the next, the moist pink lips as they round the edge of the Snapple bottle…oop, sorry. Got a little too much into Toby’s mind there for a moment. Toby looks back to the flurry of activity from his calm position knowing full well that soon he’ll become engulfed into its streamline of activity. Yet for now, he works peace into as much of his schedule as he can sitting next to Roxie. |
