A cold breeze is heard whistling through the air of an open emergency exit door of an unknown building. The large, red interior yet black exterior, steel door is propped open only by a round garbage bin with a single person standing next to it. Their hand flicks swift from their lips to the open hole in the top of the lid-covered bin and slaps back to their side against their hip. We pull back and see that Chris Cage has just tossed a cigarette into the bin and leaning up against the red brick walled building behind him. His head creeps from looking down at the paved ground forward to the camera and then to his right as Toby Bostock comes into frame, hesitantly, but with a mic extended in front of his mouth. Cage squints, glaring at him, as Bostock takes his place next to him against the wall. Toby Bostock: We're here with Chris Cage who has requested this time to speak once again. Mister Cage, you asked to have this time to yourself but I was requested to be here as well by FIW Management. Do you mind? Chris Cage: I care less. Cage removes the foot he had pressed up against the wall to the ground and brushes himself off. Wearing a black business suit, white undershirt, black tie, pants and shoes was not the greatest thing to lean against a wall with as he brushes the dust from both his shoulders then turning back to face the camera, Bostock holding the mic in front of Cage's mouth. Chris Cage: I'm not going to take as long as most people tend to do right now as I only have a few things left to say to my opponent. The first being... good luck. Good luck, XK, because what we have here is the "norm". A normal grudge match between two parties with a mutual hatred for one another. And the courteous thing to do is extend an offering of good luck. But then again, looking back at what I've done as of late it's not really in my character to do so. I guess you could say I lack something called "moral fiber". But the thing about moral fiber is that I don't want it. It's something that holds someone back from truly unleashing themselves in a tough situation. It's something that... that makes you pull your punches for the sake of not wanting to push the envelope too far. When you know what you've done is enough and should back off to let sleeping dogs lie. But thing is, I don't plan to let them lie... I plan to wake them and continue to bite, scratch and claw until there is nothing left. But as I've said before... I'm not in this to win or physically harm you... I'm going to break your very soul. I will make you do things and experience things that you never thought possible nor ever deemed ready to accept. I am going to warp your mind to what it should have been your entire life. Always parading around trying to do what you want to, yet always pulled back to doing "what's right". Like the hero everyone has molded you to be. But you're not a hero... you're not! We both know what you truly are... And that's a caged beast. I hold the key and am ready to open and look that beast dead in the eye. Knowing I'm responsible for finally letting it out. And when the time comes... I'm going to kick it straight square in the jaw and then, only then... will I seek out victory. Because I will know then that I have beaten the TRUE XK... not this knockoff superhero for millions of kids bullshit gimmick. Toby Bostock: I would hardl- Chris Cage: Keep your mouth SHUT, Bostock. Not because you have nothing worthwhile to say or because I hate your sniveling and shredded voice. But because you need to begin to take a page out of XK's book... Learning your place and keeping your voice to yourself when you know the truth is being spoken. Why else do you think XK has yet to say anything in public? Why else do you think he has secluded himself in the comfort of his trainers, friends and family right now? Why else do you think he's tucked his tail between his legs and fled beneath the dress of his precious Lucy? What you, Lucy, FIW... and most importantly the world need to understand is that the true XK is hidden beneath that shallow and weak exterior he calls a man. He is but a Kitten when deep down inside... holed up in the deepest caverns and recesses of his heart... a Lion roars and yearns to be let out... It tears at the back of his mind and artificially designed heart by the millions... It wants out, Bostock... It needs out... And I'm going to help it... Whether XK wants to or not... I'm going to finally turn him into what nobody wanted him to become... or ever wanted to see. I'm going to turn him into the monster... and then I'm going to slay it. And show what I've said all along is truth and reality. Cage grins at the camera before letting out a stiff, underlying and silent snort and inhale. He turns to Bostock and pats his head, tugs his suit down and fixes his tie up a bit before brushing his shoulder off of apparent dirt. Cage taps the side of Bostock's face before moving in to look at him eye to eye. Chris Cage: I am the hero of this fairy tale... And unfortunately... it's going to end just like every other has in history... with the hero victorious. Cage backs off and straightens himself up before taking a deep breathe, looking past Bostock and walking off screen leaving Bostock and his mouth agape before turning back to the camera. Toby Bostock: Good night...? The camera finally fades with Bostock looking back in the direction Cage walked off in and then takes off after him, possibly for additional words. |
