Catherine: Previously…on Bad Girls

Blink: This attire produces maximum flexibility because there’s no restraint. It’s…small, yes, but it’s better than running down a street through the sun in sweatpants. Every now and then when we were walking down a sidewalk in the city, Lady Emily would tell me “Suicide”. I’d then have to run to the end of the sidewalk, touch it, then run back to the other end touch that and be back by Lady Emily’s side before she got to the end.

***Backstage***

Catherine: So I’ll always be here, by your side whenever you need me, to protect you against those who would do you severe harm here, those who would try and hurt you out there, and those who would hurt you without reason.

Catherine notices Anna walking in her direction. Anna only gives Catherine the same kind of attention she would give your average, faceless stagehand but that all changes when she passes in behind Catherine when time seems to slow down. During this moment, Catherine silently speaks out a single word; “Challenge”. Without stopping or even turning her head, Anna replies with a smile “accepted”.

Nighttime at the Bad Girl estate. Well, not really estate, more like a single floor house without a basement. Yeah, that probably works better. I mean I could call it the Roadkill Café, but that’s not really a house. Okay, I’m kind stretching it for jokes, aren’t I? Apologies for the shoddiness.

Blink rests on her side half covered by her white comforter with one hand resting under her pillow and the other somewhat sent out in front of her. Yakuhara rests with no covering, other than his boxer shorts, on the floor mat set up in the laundry room snoring loudly with all four limbs sprawled out in different directions. Meanwhile, Catherine is sitting upright in her bed half covered herself by her sheets. Her eyes wincing as they stare ahead and teeth gritting with deep breaths seething through them, Catherine grips at her chest through her nightshirt in pain. She remains like this for a few moments until the pain subsides enough for her to relax a little.

Catherine: Damnit…not again.

The sun hangs high in the sky and without a cloud to block out any light, the rays shine down without any form of interruption on the busy sidewalk where amongst the crowd of people we find both Catherine and Blink walking. Blink is in her standard short-shorts and pink shirt depicting the words “Hot Stuff” in hand written glitter. Beside her, with arms hanging together behind her head, is Catherine back in her standard PVC attire. Just a tight fitting skirt suit, studded collar, and goggles keeping her bangs up out of her face. Shoes? A man once said that you never really notice the kind people are wearing until you absolutely think about it, or something like that. But since the topic is up, Catherine is in her pumps with spike attachments over the toes while Blink goes for a more formal look with sneakers that have little pom poms attached to the back…oh wait, they’re attached to her socks, sorry. Certainly if Blink had a more “normal” hair colour people would suspect that these two have nothing to do with one another. Yet there they are, walking the same pace side by side. Catherine watches Blink and Blink watches her pink cellphone with a little plastic cow chomping down on a chain wrapped around the phones little bit of plastic sticking out from the “top” of it.

Blink: Done.

Blink announces with self-satisfaction as she pockets her cellphone.

Catherine: Once again I’m really sorry for trying to delete those messages.

Blink: It’s okay, I think I understand now. They weren’t really the most flattering messages from Lady Emily. Just a bunch of notes on what I should have done to win the match sooner.

Catherine: Hey,

A simple flash back of their contest against one another ended quickly with the scene of the empty chair that had been left for Emily.

Catherine: Never mind.

Blink: Hm?

Catherine: I was just gonna say…

Catherine eyes to her right, away from Blink, pretending to look into the store windows but knows that she can’t really cause this much of a stall for very long. Finally she comes up with something and looks back toward Blink with a smile.

Catherine: You really let Lara have it, didn’t you? I mean that’s like the second big match you’ve eliminated her from in a row. She’s probably really hating you right now.

Blink eyes as much of Catherine’s back as she can without leaning in any way before eyeing back down at the sidewalk.

Blink: Like everyone else these days.

Catherine: Hey, don’t get like that again! I mean it’s just Lara we’re talking about here. And besides, have you already forgotten what I told you before?

Blink: Is that why…you challenged Anna?

A look of astonishment on Catherine’s face as she looks down at the sidewalk along with her partner.

Catherine: You heard, huh?

Silence from the two until Catherine suddenly decides to perk right back up with a smile.

Catherine: Well I guess that just means this week’ll be interesting then, huh? Think she’s the kind of woman who’d try and gain an early advantage or something?

Blink: I really don’t know what kind of woman Anna is.

Catherine: Huh?

Blink: All of the reports collected by Cyndi and Kaido-kun were made before she left, so there’s nothing really recent on her.

Catherine: So you can’t get Cyndi and Kaido to do another report?

Blink: Kaido-kun hasn’t been around lately and Lady Emily requests I not use her own resources.

Catherine: Yet she can use her to spy on us, right? Great.

Blink: It’s not just that, even if Cyndi were to gather new information on Anna it would only be obsolete the following week, if that.

Catherine: The woman changes around that much, huh?

Blink: That’s what frightens me most about her. Leading into our first match she was bent on getting some form of retribution on Lady Emily and she was doing exactly that until…

Catherine: …until you managed to get a decent shot in causing her to bleed from the mouth or whatever and just walk away.

Blink: I’m afraid that’s the kind of woman she is. I’m also afraid of what she might try when one of us is on the apron alone with her. If you’re alone she might try something and if I’m alone with her…

Not exactly a thought Blink wants running through her mind right now as Catherine seems somewhat calm about the whole situation.

Catherine: So then we just leave her high and dry. I mean when you think about it, it’s kinda dumb setting us up with her. What are they expecting? That we suddenly put aside our differences and fight for virtually nothing?

Blink: Lady Emily expects that.

Catherine: What? Is she an idi—sorry.

Blink: Lady Emily expects us to keep the fight going until the end. She says that if we just leave Anna to fend for herself she’ll…she’ll…

Catherine: I swear, sometimes I think that woman is just creating ideas to beat you around. What good would it do us to team with Anna the way she wants? It’s not as though we have anything against our opponents or anything. Well, except maybe Max. But Rufus and Rick I’ve personally got nothing against. They’re just a bunch of ring workers like the rest of us. *sigh*, I suppose it’ll be the honourable thing to give them a fight.

Blink: You don’t have to worry about Max; he’s on my list after all. Besides, I think it might be better if it’s just myself and Anna. That way only one of us would be on the apron.

Catherine: Are you kidding? I can’t just leave you with her. Seriously, did you honestly forget what I promised you?

Blink lets out a gasp as she’s still not used to the whole idea of being protected.

Catherine: But while we’re here…

Blink: Huh?

Blink turns her head to find Catherine stopped and staring back at her with a smile on her face.

Catherine: Suicide?

For a moment Blink stares at her but eventually comes to a determined nod. With that, both girls ready themselves before giving out the standard “ready, set, go” routine as they begin running down the sidewalk. Both girls are currently neck and neck as people jump out of their way as Blink lets out a giggle.

Blink: I don’t know why you challenged me! With those big, hulking boots and that outfit there’s no way you can beat me!

Catherine: Then won’t you be surprised when I lap you ten times over!

Both girls continue running to the end of the sidewalk where they touch their fingers down and turn to run back up. However it’s Blink who runs up alone as Catherine slows down to a halt watching her partner go with a smile. However, that smile disappears when she feels the tight wrenching in her chest once again. Catherine grips hold of the area and tries her best to subdue the pain as she continues to watch Blink run off in the distance.
