Ash
Capt. Ash Kapow~!

Come on bring it.
The scene fades in with all the usual flash and flare of a commercial ending - as in, none at all - and opens to reveal Ash Koopa stood in front of the camera. Dressed in a black tank top and cream three-quarter lengths, Ash would look typically casual if it wasn't for the glimmering Grand Prix Championship resting on his left shoulder. And a strange, black and yellow sweatband covering his forehead. The location is relatively non-descript; it appears to be a service corridor in a building, as it is lined with metal pipes, electrical wiring and numerous warning signs. Looking to the floor, Ash sneers as he rubs his chin with his right hand, then brings his gaze up to the camera.

Ash: "We've been down this road time and again, Keith. It's not going to happen. There have been times in the past where I have been weak and probably a little foolish, but I can assure you that Phoenix is not coming back. Maxx failed to bring him back, and you will too."

Staring into the camera, Ash cracks a small smirk.

Ash: "Maybe you're right, in that I need to let Phoenix rise from the proverbial Ash. After all, he was ruthless, violent and vindictive. He'd have the edge over everyone and everything in that ring, stopping at nothing to get the Dual Crown Championship. But then, it wouldn't be Ash Koopa winning the Dual Crown. It'd be someone else. Another person. Same looks, same voice, same wrestling ability. But a very, very different person. Aggressive. Psychotic. Merciless. It wouldn't be me. It wouldn't be right. And more importantly, it wouldn't be fair on you."

Still staring into the camera, the smirk on Ash's face grows ever bigger. Suddenly, he tilts his head back and looks down his nose at the camera, before flaring his nostrils and taking a deep breath. Rubbing at his mouth with the back of his left hand, Ash lowers his head and narrows his right eye, creating a slight smirk in the corner of his mouth.

Ash: "As much as you talk a big game, Keith, you don't want Phoenix. You couldn't handle Phoenix."

Again, the smirk grows across his entire mouth.

Ash: "You're the coward here, Keith. You're the one who jumps people from behind, using steel chairs rather than fists. You use your brain, rather than relying on your heart to carry you through. And that's only because you know you haven't got any. No heart. No guts. No balls. And, as a result, no Dual Crown Championship. I don't condone using your brain, as you've got to be smart to get in the ring and have the success you've had. But brains only get you so far; you need that heart to take you to the very top. And I may have eight years on you, Keith, but I've got way more heart and determination to succeed in the ring than you."

As the words escape his mouth, Ash clenches his fists and his entire body tenses. He stares into the camera, then sneaks a glance at the Grand Prix Championship on his shoulder, before focusing on his original target once more.

Ash: "This is my yellow brick road. Home for me, is capturing the Dual Crown. And you're Tin Man, Keith, looking for some heart. But I'm not Dorothy, before you say anything. And I'm not Phoenix, either. I'm Ash Koopa."

Glancing to the floor again, Ash takes another deep breath and steps toward the camera.

Ash: "The reason you want Phoenix, Tin Man, is not so you can have the fight of your life. I know you too well. It's because you know Phoenix is unstable. He might be most the dangerous of the four of us, but he's also the most prone to distraction. You've done me a lot of harm, Tin Man, and I can't guarantee that Phoenix would rather go for the Dual Crown than hurt you. That's not a risk I'm willing to take, because I want the belts. I can't risk someone else winning because of the purple mist. And I definitely don't want you standing tall, claiming to have beaten Phoenix. I'm not in any position to give you that little victory. You just aren't worth it. So I can assure you, hand on heart, that Phoenix is staying put in his little purple box at the back of my mind for the rest of my days."

Getting even closer to the camera, Ash brings his eyes back up and locks them onto the lens.

Ash: "And you had better thank God for that, Tin Man."

With that, Ash screws his nose up again and sneers at the viewing audience. He adjusts the belt on his shoulder, then turns and walks to his left, heading down the corridor into the darkness. The camera opts against following and watches until Ash disappears around a corner, then the scene comes to a close.
