At first there was darkness. And then light…with an undershot of Yakuhara’s grinning face? Soon he reaches a hand down toward the camera.

Yakuhara: Hm, hm, hm…

Finding what he’s looking for, Yakuhara holds a pair of white cotton panties high in the air over his head as he shouts for all the world to hear.

Yakuhara: Yes! Catherine, your secrets are no longer covered up!

Yakuhara begins rubbing them softly against his cheek.

Yakuhara: With these I’ll keep your memory alive, my sweet. How could I forget the woman who would be found in these babies?

Yakuhara begins laughing as he continues rummaging through the drawer with the speed of a kid ripping open a Christmas present. That is until he hears a feminine cough coming from the doorway. With panties stretched over his head, Yakuhara turns to find Cyndi standing there glaring at him.

Yakuhara: What are…you doing here?

Cyndi waits to give her answer as she simply begins cracking her knuckles inside the palm of her opposite hand.

Cyndi: Keeping Summer safe.

A smile on Cyndi’s face as she steps toward the silently screaming Yakuhara letting the door close behind her.

Blink sits alone on the back patio with bare feet grazing the soft grass and a finger tracing down the glass covering of the frame right down to the shattered portion in the corner. The picture itself is still well intact, but still Blink can’t help but feel like some kind of disgrace over her failure in protecting it. Maybe it’s because her mind is so wrapped up in this that she doesn’t even hear Emily stepping on the wooden boards behind her. Though when the redhead slaps the frame out of Blink’s hands she certainly takes notice. Not of her mentor, but of the photo as she quickly rushes forward trying to grab at it. However, before she can she feels a sharp tug on her pink ponytail as Emily rears her back up onto the patio letting the frame fall on the grass.

Emily: I’m tired of this.

Blink: Huh?

Blink looks up from her back at Emily who simply glares down at her.

Emily: All this wallowing in self pity, it’s pathetic even by your own standards.

Blink: I’m sor—!

Emily silences her student by stomping her foot down hard beside her head.

Emily: Stop apologizing!
Catherine: Stop apologizing!

Blink: What?

Emily: Gah…Cyndi! Pick this mess up, we’re taking her as far away from here as possible.

Cyndi, who had just stepped through the patio doors, drops Yakuhara on the ground and responds with a nod before reaching down for Blink. The blond falters for a moment but after quickly regaining composure grabs hold of Blink and pulls her up to her feet before helping her through the doors as Yakuhara crawls himself forward using the separations between the boards for leverage.

Blink: Where are you taking me?

Yakuhara finally gets his fingers over the edge of the patio and crawls himself over looking over his shoulder as if swearing revenge before taking sudden interest in the photo on the grass.

Heavy bass notes, funky trance music, lights flashing all over the place in colours you could only find in places like this, people crowding a bar competing with the musics volume and of course people who have given in to the rhythmic tunes jamming down from the DJ’s position. That’s right, we’re at one of Las Vegas’ many nightclubs. Not a strip club, Emily hardly seems the type, but a dance club that seems to be at the height of its popularity. Because of that, the tables are all jammed packed and the only place left for room happens to be a small area on the balcony looking over the dance floor. Emily comes in grooving loosely, you really have to look, to the music as Blink steps in keeping her arms as close to her body as possible with one hand resting across the side of her face while Cyndi looks as out of place as can be as she simply overlooks the dancers on the floor as if expecting one of them to pull out a gun and take a shot at her redheaded mistress. Luckily everyone here is either too drunk or too into the music to notice the entrance of three lovelies as they keep in their small patch of space by the banister. Of course every now and then Emily inches herself a bit more room but it all seems for naught as Blink continuously closes the gap not wanting to lose sight of her teacher.

Emily: There! Isn’t this a much better place to be?

She’s yelling, by the way, even though Blink is standing about a foot away it really gives the visual aid of just how loud the music is in this place. Once again, not to mention the couple hundred or so other people having their own conversations. Emily has to compete with all of this, but luckily she’s beaten it bloody into Blinks head that she’s the only person she has to listen to so…yeah, her pink haired student finds little trouble in understanding. At one point Emily has even tried to train Blink in a little sign language so she could send out signals whenever she was in the ring and Blink was on the outside. It never really got very far, especially when Emily found out how much extra work it would take just to first learn it herself.

Cyndi: Miss. Emily, this is hardly the place to train for a match.

Emily knows she can simply chalk ignorance up to the loud music but if she were to do that, Cyndi would show her persistent side and agonize Emily’s eardrum all night about this. Therefore, the redhead listlessly turns her head but still upholds visual contact with the compact Blink.

Emily: It is training, you dolt! If Blink can understand me here, it’ll become a piece of cake for her to understand me in the ring!

A half assed answer, but Cyndi knows not to question it as she instead eyes over the redheads shoulder at Blink who looks around over her shrugged shoulders hoping she’s not getting in anyone’s way from where she’s standing.

Emily: So it looks as though we’ll have to play the actual tag team next week! Anna-darling seems to be wishing for another of my beatdowns and I would surely hate to disappoint the loony lass. But I’m not going to lose my focus on that conniving bitch Lara Toni, who’s probably off polishing that fake belt of hers…among other things.

A little side trailing there that’s covered up by the music mostly but soon Emily is right back on track.

Emily: Therefore it seems you’ll have to do far more work than I expected of you in this tag match and…are you even paying attention to me?

Blink jolts her eyes back toward Emily’s and nods rapidly a few times.

Emily: I don’t think you were, I think you were still daydreaming about that dyke of a partner you had. Had, Blink, that’s the key word. I mean honestly, are you really planning on staying this way during the match? Need I remind you that this is a memorial match for your dead partner and all you can do is wallow in self pity.

Thank you.

Emily: It’s amazing really how you plan on cherishing whatever memories you have of her to yourself, you greedy bitch!

Cyndi goes to land a hand on Emily’s arm trying to tell her she’s getting a little too upset but the redhead slaps the hand away and takes a step closer toward Blink who stands there feeling every bit the target to her teachers anger.

Emily: She may not have made many memories with anyone else, but this company seems to respect her enough to have made this match. Why I don’t really know and all you can do is sulk. That’s really how you want to remember her? Really, I don’t understand why you’re crying. Was it because of something she did like this?

Emily grips the sides of Blinks face and kisses her lips briefly.

Emily: Well? Now if I died would you act the same?

Cyndi nearly passes out onto the ground but regains composure just in time to grip the rail and steady herself back up.

Emily: Or was it because you miss the embraces?

Like before, Emily just acts as she pulls Blink in for a hug. At the start Blink has no idea just how to react other than to await confirmation from her teacher.

Emily: I really don’t see what’s so special about this. You can apparently kiss and hug anyone. Or are you simply crying because you can never do this anymore with her? Well, the hugs, I would certainly hope not the kisses.

Emily pulls Blink away from their loose little embrace.

Emily: So don’t cry over the memories you can no longer have, laugh at the ones you’ve had. Let her know you appreciate everything she’s done and while you might not have been content with the time the two of you have shared, you still couldn’t ask for any more.

Blink: Lady…Emily…

The redhead doesn’t respond, she seems more eager to hear what Blink has to say now. It should hopefully be obvious, but Emily seems ready to knock her upside the head should she say the wrong thing.

Blink: Yes. You’re right. I—

Emily: Good, all I need to hear. Now why don’t you go and fetch me a drink?

Blink: Lady—

Blink is unable to finish as she’s spun around and shoved toward the bar area into the crowd that had mingled in their own little circle beside the trio. Blink quickly exits the crowd stopping to look around like a lost child seeking out her mother.

Cyndi: Those were charming words, Miss. Emily.

Emily: Stuff it, blondie.

Cyndi: Huh?

Emily turns away from where she had sent Blink and leans her arms on the railing fixing her gaze now on the dancers below as her bodyguard/assistant/servant/gopher/whatever watches her.

Emily: I’m only repeating the words she gave me when my uncle passed away last year.

Cyndi looks down at Emily’s hand and is at first astonished to see the ring still there resting over her wedding finger.

Cyndi: You still have his ring?

Emily: Of course. Next to my reign as Hellcat champion this ring is the most important thing to me.

Cyndi: Hm.

Emily: With Blink a distant third. A very distant third.

Cyndi: She’s certainly distant.

Emily sifts herself to the side resting the side of her face over her hand and looks toward Cyndi with dreary eyes.

Emily: Don’t you get all metaphorical on me.

Cyndi: I’m not. She’s down there on the dance floor.

Emily: Hm… … … WHAT?! Where?

Gripping the railing with both hands, Emily begins scanning over the fifty or so person strong dance floor wondering first where Blink is and why it’s so hard to pinpoint pink hair in that crowd.

Cyndi: She’s right there.

Emily: Why in the hell is she down there? I told her to get me a drink, not shake a tail feather!

Cyndi: She must have gotten lost and somehow made her way down there.

Emily: Who knows who will try what to her down there! I won’t allow her the chance to gain a reason to avoid this match! Let’s go!

Down on the dancefloor, Blink tries as hard as she can to be compact on her way through the throng of dancers while at the same time not wanting to get in their way thus ruining what good time they’re having.

Blink: Ex-excuse me…I’m sorry…excuse me…do you know where…I can’t find the bar…can somebody help me?

Eventually overwhelmed, Blink drops to her knees and rubs the bangs from her face while looking down at the dance floor.

Blink: I’m sorry, Lady Emily. Maybe if I just stay here you can find a new—

Before it drops back down, Blink’s hand is caught by another womans hand and just as quickly as that happened she feels herself being pulled forward. Not into an embrace, but on a trail leading her off the floor and through the people surrounding it. Due to the lights and everything and everyone else around her Blink has a hard time really getting a look at her saviours face but at the same time can’t help but feel a familiarity with her. Emily? Cyndi? Neither as Blink catches them in the corner of her eye on the other side of the curved rampway leading down. Here though she gets a good look at the back of the womans head and finds her with green hair. Maybe it’s just the lights, but as the woman pushes open the doors leading Blink outside it’s definitely confirmed the woman has green hair. For a moment the two stand there on the outside, the saviours back still turned with her attention drawn to the street ahead.

Blink: Um…

The woman releases her grip on Blinks hand as though surprised she was still holding it.

Blink: Thank you for, um, saving me in there and…

Blink trails off into silence not wanting to miss the moment now presenting itself as the woman slowly begins to turn around. No features revealed though as the door instantly bursts open with Emily and Cyndi stepping out. Emily, gripping hold of Blink’s arms, begins giving her a little shake but nothing near ragdoll like.

Emily: Summer! Are you okay? I was so worried about you!

Blink: Lady Emily…you were…worried for me?

Emily: Huh?

Emily quickly releases Blinks arms and steps back before coughing into a loose fist.

Emily: Um…well, if you were hurt in any way then there’d be trouble in trying to find a replacement. This is an important match after all.

Blink: Oh…yeah, I’m okay.

Cyndi: How did you manage to get out here?

Not as frantic sounding as Emily, at least at the redheads beginning, Cyndi simply eyes Blink up and down wondering if maybe something kicked into gear inside of her.

Blink: That’s right, she saved me from the crowd. Thank you again and--huh?

Emily steps to the side as Blink lowers into a brisk bow before realizing that the green haired woman is already a couple of blocks down the sidewalk. Would’ve been more mysterious if she had just disappeared, but that’s been done to death by now. “Carol? She’s been dead for twenty-five years! She just loves teasing jocks and stealing their varsity jackets.”

Emily: Oh, she’s gone. Do you have any idea who she was?

Blink: I…

Blink looks down at her hand, the one used to pull her out of the dance club, prior to looking back up down the sidewalk.

Blink: I don’t…know.

Emily stands there for a moment in silence waiting for a little more detail before,

Emily: Oookay…Uh, let’s head off then.

Emily turns making her way down the sidewalk a few steps as Cyndi watches Blink who watches the other side of the sidewalk (so many actions, or not really). Eventually Blink turns and smiles toward the blond before catching up with Emily, or as the redhead would rather, one step behind Emily.

Follow Pet's Twitter if you don't mind...you know, Pet being Pet. Also, she tends to mention it a fair bit. (NSFW)
