"The Man Of The Year"
[ * * * ]
Snap! Just like that we're backstage with Toby Bostock in the generic interview set area. Dressed in a quite classy and crisp black suit, Toby has a big grin on his face as he holds his mic in hand to his lips to welcome us to the scene.

Toby Bostock: "Ladies and gentlemen allow me to intro-... er... RE-introduce you to 'The Man Of The Year', himself... Coming back from a horrendous knee injury by the hands of Terry Cane... Chris! Cage!"

The camera now pans back just a bit more enough to fit in Chris Cage standing beside Bostock in a white t-shirt and blue jeans, street attire for sure. But most noticeable is the fact that he's on crutches and does not look to be all that pleased to be back at all.

Toby Bostock: "Mister Cage, at Summer of Sin you made your... well, to be honest and fair, not very anticipated come back to FIW. But you refused to participate in any form of interview with me but you requested this time to say some things?"

Cage stares a gaping hole right through Toby before he lifts his head and takes in a deep breathe... and then he smiles? Yes, Chris Cage himself smiles an actually joyful and pleasant smile to both Toby and the camera. Cage reaches out and pats Toby on the shoulder and shakes him a little playfully before even chuckling a bit.

Chris Cage: "Oooh, Toby. My old friend. You have to realize that last night? I was pre-occupied by a large amount of things. I mean, you have to admit. If the man responsible for crippling you temporarily and shelving you away while you're at the pinnacle of your career... you might be a little sidetracked by the fact he's in the same arena as you and want to avenge the wrong. But regardless, as part of The Brotherhood, you all saw how honorable I was to let him slide by me. I never laid a finger on him nor do I plan on it. However the other matches...

Y'see, here's the thing. You can call it cheating. You can call it interference. You can call it a lot of things. Over the course of the last few months The Brotherhood has stood for the utmost virtues of this industry and business and respected the sanctity of it. But time and time again the people I sought revenge on last night were always behind the disrespect and lack of rule-abiding that has tried to topple our well oiled-machine. As you heard me say before, I don't forgive. And I don't forget."

Toby nods somewhat in actual agreement with Cage for once as Cage cracks another smile at the end of his sentence and looks at Toby waiting patiently for the next question.

Toby Bostock: "Well next week you'll once again be ringside for two of your Brotherhood's matches. And one question now lingers, do you plan to get involved in those matches as we-"

Chris Cage: "Let me stop you right there, Toby. See, after what I did last night at Summer of Sin it's natural for the people to think I'm going to do it again when I get the opportunity to. But the thing is... I'm part of The Brotherhood. You know our code of ethics and I plan to abide by them just like everyone else. Last night was merely just retribution on two of the souls that crossed The Brotherhood all this year. As of now, I consider us even. And hey, hell. Congratulations to Neo Carner for his big win over Krychek. Even with my distractions he still managed a victory. So kudos, he's living proof even if The Brotherhood plays by the rest of the FIW's rules they can still come out on top. So you can't say we're not fair."

Toby Bostock: "Okay, okay. Well just one last question. On the subject of Terry Cane."

And now is the point in time when Cage slowly puts up his hand to stop Toby in his tracks and continuing and reaches over lowering Toby's mic. Cage stares off into space beyond the camera before taking a deep breathe, closing his eyes then opening to just walk away from the scene. Toby is somewhat left hanging as he looks at us and simply shrugs at what that may have even meant at all.
