(The scene begins from a FIW house show in Portici, Italy where Roberto Sanchez is seen making his way back to his room. Anna Bowie approaches him and stops him in his tracks.)

Anna: Roberto, I’ve been trying to get a hold of you all week for an interview.

Sanchez: Sorry, I’ve just been busy. I really let myself, the Black Label Society, and more importantly Father Mad Dawg down when I lost my match on Sunday. So I have been trying to do what I can to make up for my failings last week.

Anna: A lot of people thought you really had a chance to win the match but you were unable to capitalize on El Tremendo Number Two.

Sanchez: I could have that chance all I want but the fact still remains I was unsuccessful. I allowed a disgrace to my culture to best me and it’ll take quite a bit for me to make up for it.

Anna: Well you have a huge chance to make up for it this Sunday when you will compete in your first main event match for the Fighting Spirit Championship.

Sanchez: It’s just further proof that our Lord works in mysterious ways. I let a lot of people down last Sunday by not winning my first tournament match, but He had a plan for me all along, and that plan could very well be for me to win the Fighting Spirit Championship before the tournament is even over.

Anna: Well can you give me your thoughts on your opponents? Let’s start off with Blink..

Sanchez: You’re straight and to the point aren’t you? I like that mami

Anna: Let’s just say I don’t like to beat around the bush and play around for too long. Now back to your opponents.

Sanchez: Right, right. Well Blink, I have nothing against her really. I respect her for her achievements so far in her career and the fact that she’s done it in a profession that isn’t tailor-made for her. But I also know the advantage I hold over her because of her size. I’m looking to fulfill my destiny and I’ve had enough drawbacks already that I’m not going to be discriminatory about what it takes or who must fall in order for me to reach it.

Anna: Well I will note that Blink did fail to mention you at all the entire week. Do you feel it may be some sort of snub towards you?

Sanchez: I’d like to think it would be due to slight of mind because I hope she wouldn’t be foolish enough to underestimate me. I’ve had a rocky start so far but it doesn’t mean I couldn’t turn things around and put things right on track at any given time. So whether it was a snub or not, I don’t know. The only thing I know is she would be making a mistake to look past me.

Anna: Well next would be El Cuervo Blanco. You made some comments about El Valiente and El Tremendo and how you found their representation of lucha libre as a disgrace to your heritage. So would El Cuervo Blanco be placed under that same umbrella of disgrace seeing as he is from Spain?

Sanchez: Was that supposed to be some sort of joke just because both of our people speak Spanish? The only parallel we share was blood before the Spanish Conquest. In case you forgot, my people gained our independence from his people because of their pompous ways towards us. But El Cuervo Blanco would make a good example for the ignorant people who still haven’t figured out the difference between the Spanish and the Mexicans. So there will still be some positives in crushing him in the center of that ring.

Anna: Well even though El Cuervo Blanco may not speak, his manager Rick Nuller did warn him to not underestimate you. Are you surprised to hear that bit of recognition, albeit small, from such a respected man?

Sanchez: Not exactly surprised but happy to hear that he does at least respect my abilities to tell his client to not take me lightly. As such I’m not taking Cuervo Blanco or anyone else in this match lightly either. I may detest what he represents, but I still do respect his abilities in the ring.

Anna: Well last but not least you have the current Dual Crown and Fighting Spirit Champion, Christian Cruz.. To be facing such a high caliber opponent, are you having any serious doubts whether you can defeat the top man in the company?

Sanchez: Like I already said, I know I haven’t had the greatest success so far, but my career is still young and it can skyrocket at a moment’s notice. Christian Cruz is the man right now, there’s no denying that. But he’s certainly not unbeatable and seeing as it’s one fall to a finish, I don’t necessarily have to beat Cruz. I just have to make sure he isn’t able to stop me from getting the victory.

Cruz has been at the top of his game for a while now but where does he have to go from there? The only place he has to go now is back down, and the eventuality of it makes it an even bigger probability. And add in the fact that it’s for a title that he considers meaningless and I think things look pretty possible for the young long shot to come out with the gold.

(Sanchez smiles confidently towards the camera.)

Anna: So any final words before Sunday?

Sanchez: Just that I’m ready and as hungry as ever for a victory this Sunday. I know I have my doubters, hell even Lee Mason was pissing and moaning that I’m in this match and he isn’t. But I was given a second chance for a reason and I am determined not to let this one slip through my fingers.

Anna: Thanks for your time and good luck on Sunday.

Sanchez: No problem, mami.

(Roberto winks at Anna and grins before heading back to his locker room.)
