Kimberly: Pyotr! You would lower yourself to fight at some bar?

Sadovsky doesn't remove his glare on Mr. Blond, even though what Kimberly is starting off with is making perfect sense to him right now.

Kimberly: These types of matches will only keep coming if you are set on fighting just about anyone.

I don't know, but I think there was an insult laced in there toward Mr. Blond referring to him as being among the faceless mass that has attended this party thus far. But she doesn't care, all she's concerned about is getting Sadovsky calmed to the point where she can get him away from the bar and this troubling scene.

Kimberly: Now, come with me if you want your career to live.

Heh heh, movie references. Sadovsky steps away from the bar still keeping a constant lock on Mr. Blond to the moment he arrives beside Kimberly who leads him out of this place. Another time maybe.

Emily: Where is she?

Ariel was so mesmerized by watching Blink dance that she completely lost track of everything that's been going on around her so she's surprised when she turns to find Emily standing by the table glancing around the party goers looking for her student.

Ariel: May I enquire as to who you are referring to, Mi--

Emily: Don't waste my time, maid, just point me in the direction Blink has gone so I may retrieve and return her to what she should be doing instead right now.

Ariel: Are you certain she's here?

Emily: She's not running the training regimen I've given her and as you are here...

Ariel: I'm just calming my nerves. It's restless work what I do, you know.

Emily: Don't change the subject either. Just tell me where she is so I can hear her try and explain her absence.

She actually allows time for explanation? Ariel almost buys into that but even still the chances of her actually pointing out where Blink went are non existent at the moment.

Ariel: The last time I saw Miss. Madison, she was leaving the arena to get in a late night run. I'm sorry if I can't be of more help to you, Ms. Startfield.

Emily looks down at the maid as though considering what she's been told. Eventually she slides out a chair and takes a seat, much to Ariel's surprise and dismay.

Ariel: What are you doing?

Emily: Calming my nerves. I'm certain Blink will undoubtedly be here soon.

I don't think she bought Ariel's story. The main clue being Blink running her own training program when she's already been given one by Emily. Thus she sits and waits.

Blink looks around a little worried over where it is she's being led. She knows she shouldn't be worried as it is Kamen Ranger being the one leading her, of course it doesn't cross her mind that just about anyone could just wear a mask and imitate him, but still to be led out of Ariel's line of vision is still troubling to her. Ariel. She looks over to get one last glimpse at the maid to make sure she's alright with them dancing off to the side and just as they begin getting in behind the pillars she notices the colour red and immediately figures the source. A surprised gasp of delight as Blink looks back up at her dance partner.

Blink: [size0]Lady Emily's here right now! We can go and talk with her about the system! C'mon.

This is it, no more procrastinating, SKR. Time to make a decision and stand by the consequences. Mind you...

Blink: Leave. All of you get out. Out of my sight and life and never try to crawl back in.

Lucas: Summer...

Far greater ones are on the horizon.

Super Kamen Ranger senses something, something off about Blink; it's in the way her body's reacting to his lead now. Is she worried? Why would she be worried about them dancing now all of a sudden? Did she realize he's trying to lead her to behind the pillars? If so, maybe he should say something, explain why he's going to...no, he can't, it'll complicate things and tip his hat.

It would be too dangerous.

For both of them.

Better to try and wait just a few more moments...

Blink's gasp of delight startles him out of his thoughts and his eyes follow her eyes, trying to see what she's looking at. The pillars obscure his view a little though not enough to avoid seeing a very familiar shade of red hair across the dance floor. No, not now, he was so close, please Blink, please don't do what his first thought of what she intends for them to do is after seeing Emily. Please wait a few more moments, this is important; he isn't sure if he's ever going to get another chance to...

SKR: Summer!...

The mouse masked nun breaks their dance and she leads them back the way they came, straight towards the table they were sitting at. Kamen's stomach is doing back flips, repeatedly; he is trying to his best to think of some reason to delay this. It isn't a matter of them talking to Emily about the system; he knows what his course of action with that is going to be already. He simply wanted to give Blink one last gift before...just in case...

Too late.

Maybe some other time.

So close, he was so close.

Lambs to the slaughter...

Too late? Blink comes pauses when she returns to her senses. What's running through her mind now? Emily's seated right there and Kamen Ranger is in her grasp. Her plan, her sudden dream is being realized. But she stops herself from executing it to its final stages. Emily isn't eyeing toward them and it's a lucky thing because Blink takes the sudden relief and brings Kamen Ranger back behind the pillars before letting go of his hand. Why are they back here all of a sudden? And why does Blink sound so upset? She's not looking at Kamen Ranger, instead her head is lowered and her shoulders are trembling as she reaches up for her mouse mask sliding it off of her face.

Blink: [size0]So close...

Can she read minds now? In all her teachings has Emily unlocked the secret in turning Blink into a psychic? A true one? Not one of those call in infomercial types? She finally eyes up at Kamen Ranger doing once more what she spends most of her life doing; she cries.

Blink: [size0]I'm so sorry. All I've been thinking about these past few hours was myself and my plan. My stupid plan. I almost became a monster, everything Lady Emily despises in a person. I'm sorry beyond everything that I nearly forced you to do something.

That cut by her eye isn't nearly as bad as some may have thought, sure it's near a dangerous point but if anything it just looked like it was a warning of sorts. After years of correcting Emily has certainly taught herself well.

Blink: [size0]You shouldn't have to forgive me this time, I'm just an awful friend. Someone who needs to find a rock and live there until Lady Emily calls. I mean all I ever do is cause problems for people.

We've stepped back in time, haven't we? In Kamen Ranger's attempts in showing Blink something, she's gone back to being disgusted with herself. The classics, as some would say.

Blink: [size0]It's why Lady Nikita left me and why Lady Spice never calls for me. It's why Lady Pixie hates me and why Lady Catherine doesn't want me around. I've done horrible things to all of them, even lady Emily is starting to despise me.

Starting? Where the hell has she been?

Blink: [size0]Soon I won't have anyone left and it's all because of moments like this. I get one idea in my head and soon believe everyone wants to be a part of it. Things were so much better for everyone when I wasn't such a burden. When I was just standing to the side and taking Lady Emily's training. Watching her fights, learning her moves, and now I'm here...being yet another dis-ap-point-ment. You bring me here for a reason, and all I care about is seeing Lady Emily. You have a plan but that isn't enough for me, I act on mine first. I'm sorry. I'm beyond sorry. I'm...I'm whatever's above sorry. I'm...that.

Yeah, what is above sorry? Apologetic? Nah, that sounds too much like the same thing.

When Blink brings the two of them to a stop his relief is short lived, it is soon overtaken with confusion. Why are they stopping now? Why are they going back? Blink's already taken them away from the pillars and she had them about half way across the dance floor to the table. It's amazing Emily hadn't noticed them, with how close they were though it looked as if her mind was on other things at the moment.

Kamen is about to ask her why they're back behind the pillars and then Blink speaks, sounding so upset. At the same time it gives the masked man a few chills, unsure what to make of her repeating what he was thinking a moment ago. He knows the two of them care about each other alot and they're close, are they so close she's started to think like him? Or maybe she's gotten such a good understanding of him she is able to guess what he's thinking?

He hopes it's a creepy coincidence.

As soon as she looks up to him his heart begins to break for her, he can't stand the sight of Blink crying. She's far too innocent and pure of a person for it to seem okay for her to cry, it feels like something or someone making her cry should be a crime. His hands reach up and they gently try to wipe away the tears from her masked face, listening to what she's got to say to him. He shakes his head, of course she'd open with an apology, what else would he expect from her?

It's hard to listen to her talk like this about herself, refer to her plan for the new system as something that's stupid. He doesn't think it's stupid at all, he thinks it's sweet; he has his doubts Emily's ever going to approve its existence though. The concept of Blink as a monster is such a sadly funny one that he almost wants to laugh at it. This is something that seems impossible; he just doesn't think she has it in her DNA to be anything like a monster.

He's seen real monsters. She isn't one.

Everything keeps pouring out of her, stuff that sounds like it's been building for a while inside of her. It's difficult to stand there and not say anything but he wants her to get everything out before he says anything to her. He wants to her to vent as much as she needs to, and it does seem like she needs to, and he wants to be the person she vents to. It doesn't matter to him, he'd rather she get all of this off her chest than bottle it up, like he knows she does sometimes with things.

Admittedly some of it is hard for him to follow though he gets the gist.

SKR: I don't think that's the case at all, Summer. Anyone would be lucky to have you as a friend. You aren't the reason why Nikita left, she had her own issues she needs to work through. I can't speak for Spice but from what I can tell, Pixie feels anything but hate for you. And we both know Catherine loves having you around and she cares deeply about you.

The Inter-Galactic Hero shakes his head again at the pink haired girl and he tries to soothe her by rubbing her face. His fingers run along her cheeks and his thumbs gently massage the area under her eyes, each of his fingers trying to avoid any bruises or cuts. Desperately he wishes she'd calm down, not because she's being a burden but because she was so happy only a few moments ago. Now she's hurled herself from one extreme to the other, looking like she's about ready to crumble apart.

SKR: I can't speak for others but I know you'll always have one person by your side, Summer. No matter what happens, I am always going to be there for you, should you need me to be, I promise that to you. You are not a burden to me, you are a blessing. In fact, it's kind of why I brought us over here...

More shaking of the head and he speaks again, sounding somberly reassuring to her that he isn't going anywhere. There's sadness in his voice over how she's feeling right now yet conviction in what he is telling her, that he's always going to be there. His words grow more & more passionate till he swears to her that he's always going to be by her side, she'll never be truly alone. This conviction is gone and replaced by nervousness when he confesses this is partially why he brought them over her.

SKR: I have something for you, a gift...

His words grow steadily quieter with each one said, due to him leaning closer towards the pink haired girl. One of his hands leaves her face so that it can grab hold of his Deku mask, sliding it up onto the top of his head, pushing his cap back. The combination of his mask, her mask and her hair obscures his face from the camera though it's clear to see what he's doing. Kamen is passionately kissing Blink on the lips, for the second time in the few months they've known each other.

His hand slips away from her face and both of his hands wrap themselves around her thin waist. They gently pull her in close, closer than his leaning towards her already brought the two love birds. He isn't satisfied keeping his fingers still and so they carefully massage her lower back while the two are still kissing each other. It looks like any second now one of them is going to run out of air from it, probably Blink, seeing as she was caught by surprise with it.

SKR's head pulls back ever so slightly, his lips still hovering over the pair they just kissed moments ago. It looks like by the slight motions of his head like he's whispering something to her though what is anybody's guess. Whatever it is, he looks both sincere and passionate by what can be seen of him in what he's telling her. Then the moment passes and his hand reaches for the Deku mask, it slips back over his face and he goes back to a normal posture, no longer leaning forward.

There.

It's been done.

Nothing can keep them apart now.

No one either.

Blink stares at Kamen Ranger silently. That was indeed the second time he's kissed her, key word there: he's. Does this mean she hates him because she's never herself made the move? No, she just never saw the opportunity. She lowers her head a little in attempt to hide her blushing cheeks while resting a fingertip across her lips wondering if maybe he tasted Kimberly on her lips. Then she looks back over at the table wondering if Ariel will be the next to kiss her tonight. She doesn't mean to think of herself as a kissing slut but she likes the passionate feeling of being loved.

Loved. Is this what it feels like? Lucas tried his damnedest to explain what love is to her but she left more confused than ever. Now it's here, standing with her in behind the pillar. Will he be the one? The one Blink will set herself to spend the rest of her life with? What about Ariel? Honey? Pixie? How could she tell them? “Thank you for your time and effort but I'm going with another”? Something about that just sounds...rude, like the past few months have been nothing but a game to her. It hasn't been, she's been completely sincere with her feelings for everyone.

A startling thought comes to Blink's mind; Kamen Ranger is going to continue protecting her. Is that where her feelings are coming from? Her admiration to his protection? It's how it was when Blink thought she loved Catherine and she thought that's all it was when she first fell in love with Pixie. Now Kamen Ranger? That can't be how she feels about him, even though most of the things were done via Emily's requests. Like going on the patrol, seeing his face...wait, was that what Emily told her to do? Or was that simply Blink wanting to see for herself? Her eye dip down once more. She needs to think this through and talk with Catherine. She seems to be the one to know when Blink's in love or not.

Uh-oh, better answer. Blink gives her head a quick shake and smiles once more toward Kamen Ranger. Or, as requested through speech between the two;

Blink: [size0]I-I will...

She stops to girlishly blush as her eyes look down at her feet as the right one sways to the side. She looks back up and smiles finally continuing on with what sounds like the letter “K” before a hand firmly grips hold of Blink's pink hair jerking her out of the way for Emily to walk in. As usual she doesn't at all look too pleased.

Emily: When I told you “no” to your idiotic “Sir” idea, I meant it.

Blink: Lady Emily, I-I wasn't--

Emily: You weren't? So you're saying that I'm wrong? That this little hidden meeting the two of you are having isn't about a pact deal? Perhaps instead you're professing your love for one another.

A quick laugh about that one as she tries to think about Blink actually falling in love.

Emily: Now, tell me what you were really doing with this man, hopefully you aren't continuing your report. I told you I got everything after that patrol I sent you on with them.

Well...isn't that mildly interesting. Blink had hoped to keep that from him, it shouldn't be enough to have him walk away feeling betrayed the second he pieces the puzzle but it might be a feared first step. It's this fear that unfortunately has Blink go silent until Emily has had enough and shoves her back first against the pillar releasing hold of the pink hair as she turns toward Kamen Ranger.

Emily: Now I don't care what you're doing, but perhaps you will aid me once more. I'm sure by now Blink has tried to get you into this “Sir” system of hers. She keeps coming to me about it and I keep having to bat her away, so I'll try a new motive and ask you to tell her. Refuse her offer and discourage her from using it on anyone else. Now.

Well this night just seems to be getting better and better, doesn't it? And Emily hasn't even begun on her tirade of yells and physical “corrections” on Blink for skipping out on her training and sneaking away from her and spending time with someone she shouldn't be and trying to get him to a system she's already told her not to use. I guess it's time to see just how good of a protector he's going to be.

Though just because things aren't bad enough, a hopeful Blink stands in behind Emily glancing around her silently pleading that he do what she believes to be the right thing. Perhaps it's clear to Kamen Ranger by now that a savage beating is imminent between Emily and Blink but maybe he can find a way to make Blink happy and lessen the chance of the redhead becoming violent. Something no one has shockingly tried before as it's been right there the entire time. Too often have people taken Blink for granted, if Kamen Ranger truly wishes to protect her...

Oh...getitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetitgetit! Put Emily in her place by showing your loyalty to Blink.

Beneath the mask Kamen can't help but smile at Blink's reaction to his little gift to her, possibly the last one. Their second kiss, her second time seeing his face and one other little thing he's willing to give to her, showing her how much she means to him. This is even more than that, showing her how much he is willing to trust her with his safety. She very well could hold his fate in the palm of her hands, if she so chose to look at what's transpired that way. Now nothing is capable of hiding them from each other, should something or someone try to do that to them.

Kamen isn't stupid; he's noticed how Skull's become progressively more on edge when the cameras are away. It wasn't so bad at first but since the incident with Hammer & Sickle, it's really started to become noticeable in his actions. He knows Skull knows something, he isn't sure what, he hasn't asked him and Skull hasn't told him what it is yet. There's isn't any doubt in his head Skull will tell him as soon as he has confirmation, he's known him long enough to know it's how he operates. Something's coming, for him, maybe for Skull...

...Maybe for Blink too?

It's why this was so important to him.

He reflects on the kiss they shared, this one was a little better than the first one, he knew more of what he was doing. Also the two of them know each other better and this one was more than simply trying to go by dating customs at the end of a date. This one Kamen wanted to do because he wanted to kiss Blink, not because of some dating custom that it's important to end the date with a kiss. Albeit he didn't put too much thought into it but her lips tasted ever so slightly different this time around.

Maybe something she ate?

When Blink speaks up he almost jumps, forgetting he had been talking to her and that usually in that situation a reply is desired. He can't help but find her adorable with the way she blushes and looks at her feet, swaying the one left to right a little. It makes him happier than she'll ever know when she looks back up at him, smiling at him the way she does. This one isn't anything like the one he saw earlier at the table when he first came in; this one's an actual smile.

Shame the song has to change on them.

Hurricane Emily comes in and ruins the moment the two were having, abusing Blink in only the way she can. His head jerks to find the source of the person who's grabbing his friend like that and it isn't hard for him to find who it is. It isn't like Emily's keeping her presence a secret, she's out in the open and she's looking less than pleased. His instincts tell him to jump in though he tries to respect the fact that she's Blink's trainer and Blink's feelings for that, and so he lets it play out a little more.

Too bad he does, because Emily drops a bomb that shakes him more than he'd care to admit, the patrol. Skull was right, after all the defending of Blink to Skull about her intentions, after the doubt Skull put into him about her. It doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of his travel to Nevada, to see who Blink associates herself with, to renew his faith in her. In the end, not getting quite what he wanted though deciding to keep his trust in her, having trusted her this far already.

There's no lying, he's hurt from this revelation, his trust is chipped at in the very least, and he feels something of a fool. It doesn't change how he feels about her though; something much bigger would have to happen for that to change. Kamen cares about her too much; he's invested in her too much to simply be pushed away by this. Even if that wasn't the case...he'd disgust himself, walking away from this when she's so clearly in need of his help right now with Emily.

Moment of truth.

SKR: I have an alternative suggestion.

The Inter-Galactic Hero is unfazed by Emily's little rant about the system & what she wants him to do. His voice is cool, calm and respectful when he begins to walk around the red headed woman, keeping an eye on her the entire time. In fact, this conversation almost makes it look like Blink doesn't exist at all, it's just Emily and Kamen that are there. Course, his intentions tip the hat that Blink's there, he's doing this for her, he's trying to grant both Ariel's and Blink's wishes of him.

SKR: Equality, it's something that I've seen throughout my travels...been fought after, and very rarely an actuality. Even here, on Earth, there are always more battles to be fought for it, more wars that are never on the battlefield. Women, people of different skin color, people of different sexual preference, all of them have had or are fighting their battles. So that they can be seen as equal, and not some sub-human species like so many would like to think of them as.

His hands find themselves behind him, resting on his lower back while he takes a few more steps around Emily. Each one is precise, cold, calculating in how he moves his leg, when his knee bends and where his foot lands on the floor below. If one didn't know any better, one could mistake it for one of those animal kingdom documentaries where a predator circles it's prey. Course, in reality, the roles are the opposite of how it would play in that scenario, Emily's the predator here.

SKR: Personally I see people as people, nothing more, nothing less, it doesn't matter where they came from or what gender they have. I could care less who it is they like or are attracted to; none of these things affect my life and me. It's with this in mind that...Blink's system is a logical one; it restores equality to those that she interacts with. It is putting both male and female on equal footing that both genders are much deserving of being given. To deny this request, why, you're no better than human males who once told women they should stay in the kitchen.

The masked man gives a small shrug of his shoulders and he admits to how he sees the world. His childhood was an innocent one, in that respect, he had never been taught anything racist or sexist or ignorant by his parents. It came in handy in his travels with Skull, where he met numerous races that might've seemed strange but they were just people. Not humans, but people nevertheless, they had thoughts, hopes, dreams and feelings just like anyone else, just like him.

SKR: She came to me with the idea and she did encourage me to try to help her debate the pros of it to you. She never offered me a position in it though I don't mind either way; it is something that would be her choice to make. I had my doubts you would listen if you've already decided on the fate of the system. Though I would think someone as intelligent and as progressive as you are would see the benefits of said system.

It's true, Link isn't lying to her, Blink never offered Super Kamen Ranger a pact deal in this proposed system. This information had been leaked to him by Ariel though Blink doesn't even know Ariel told him about the system before she did. Not like he really had much of a chance to mention this, and so he's playing things close to the chest with this. His footsteps are now bringing him fully around Emily, so that the two are face to face and he's directly in the way of her getting to Blink.

SKR: If you still feel that strongly against it, this is where my alternative is to come into play. It means I've wasted your time, talking to you just now, and it means I'm the source of Blink's time being wasted tonight. She only came to this party to talk to me about the system and to try to see if I would help her. So I encourage you, should you feel the need to punish anyone tonight, punish me to correct her on this mistake, Ms. Stratfield. It will make the lesson more potent of one, if she is able to watch it and I will humbly atone for wasting your time tonight.

The Hero of Time's put his cards on the table at long last; this is his plan though it hadn't happened quite as he had imagined it. After he had agreed to help Blink, he had decided upon this course of action, to make good on both wishes he had signed on for. Kamen would try to help Blink convince Emily about the good her new system's capable of; try to turn her around on the concept. If it failed, he would make good on the reason behind Ariel's favor, he would protect Blink from harm.

It is an odd sort of stance the Interstellar Insect's taken between the teacher and the student here. His body looks relatively relaxed, calm, and ready and willing to accept any abuse that's about to come it's way at the hands of Emily. Yet his positioning, it's almost like a defensive stance, one that's shielding Blink from the sight of her trainer, Emily. It doesn't look impossible, merely extremely difficult that Emily would be able to get to Blink with the way he's shielding her right now. Likewise, and probably the scenario he finds more likely, he's made it a little more challenging for Blink to get around him to try to stop Emily from punishing him in her stead.

What's Emily Stratfield going to do?

Too long, I don't know if Emily was even really listening. She looked like she was but maybe that's just because she was awaiting his point. Blink, on the other hand, hangs on his every word because, and it takes her a bit to realize, it sounds like he's sticking up for both her and her new proposed system. When he's finished, Blink is forced to stand up on her tip toes to see just how Emily has taken these arguments. At first not very well as there appears to be the hint of a scowl in her features but very slowly it disappears to her usual calm demeanour as she lets out a sigh as she reaches into her jeans pockets finding something that first surprises her then pleases her as she eyes Blink who quickly goes back to hiding.

Emily: You would let this man shield you, Blink? Hm, how low will you sink?

There's one thing Kamen Ranger can't protect Blink from; Emily's words. These ones just so happen to cut right through Blink's heart as she does feel the huge tinge of guilt for allowing him to take the abuse to come, especially when she notices Emily pulling out her black gloves from another pocket. She's really about to do this and is Blink really willing to just stand there? Doesn't look like Kamen Ranger is giving her much choice or even say in the matter as he's finally willing to take a stand and take everything Emily has to give Blink.

Blink: [size0]Lady Emily...please don't. I'm sorry, it was--

Emily: Mm-mm.

She responds cutting Blink off by also shaking her head as the gloves are slowly sliding over her hand. Something tells me Emily is going to enjoy this.

Emily: If you truly respect this man you will not argue his position, Blink. Nor will you argue against me.

Was that an order? Surprisingly it didn't sound like one. Instead it sounded more so as a reminder to Blink over how things have played out and apologizing is really only just a waste of time. And speaking about time, it's almost that as Emily adjusts the gloves over her hands now for comfort.

Emily: Before I do this, I wish to say something while you are still conscious.

That...doesn't sound good. Kamen Ranger may have been expecting as such, but Blink is still terrified of what's to come. Is this how others feel when she puts her life on the line?

Emily: Regardless of your speech, I still disapprove of the system. It distracts Blink from what it is she really should be doing; training. So long as she's with me that is what she will focus on. Those were the conditions of our pact deal, weren't they?

From behind Kamen Ranger a voice that really plays well with the mask worn comes up.

Blink: [size0]Y-yes, Lady Emily.

Emily: As her mentor it is my duty to discourage her from outside interferences such as romance, humour, or anything that clouds the mind. It shouldn't bother Blink that I hit you, yet it does. Because of you her focus is no longer on her training, her matches. Because of you she is losing and my patience with her grows thinner every day. If you truly wished to protect her, you would leave her and let her train. Now,

It's so sudden that even if Kamen Ranger was prepared he might not have been ready for when Emily decks him across the face knocking him back into Blink who lets out a sharp gasp catching him. Really if it weren't for the pillar behind them then chances are Blink's loss of footing would've been responsible for causing them to crash land on the floor. Kamen Ranger steadies himself but only for another shot, this one a true Paradise shot that knocks him down. Not out, just down.

Blink: Stop it! Please!

Blink is standing above him feeling utterly exposed now as Emily smiles at her. Though she doesn't send a shot, instead she just reaches into her first pocket just as Kamen Ranger begins picking himself up. Blink's attention is no longer on him but on Emily's hand that's gripping something. To Blink's horror, it's a stuffed body part torn off a teddy bear. Emily tilts her hand just enough to allow it to roll into Blink's who stares at it. The longer she does the shallower her breathing becomes until it turns to a sob and then an all out bawl as she drops to her knees burying as much of her masked face as she can into the stuffed bear arm. Emily now turns her attention toward Kamen Ranger sliding off her gloves.

Emily: There's more to protecting than just being a shield for physical attacks. Remember that if you truly wish to get between me and my student again.

Just a warning, not a friendly one but one that's certainly a cap to Emily being here as she walks from the scene of SKR recovering from two Paradise shots and Blink down on her knees crying heavily and apologizing greatly into the torn limb of her Cheer Bear.

The scowl is expected, he thought as much would be her reaction though he is surprised it is short lived. She goes about her business of retrieving her gloves from her jeans' pocket, and he stands tall, steadying himself and readying himself. He's quite confident she's accepting his offer, if not; he's got to be prepared to throw himself in the line of fire for Blink here. Emily isn't going to harm a hair on her head, not tonight, not over this matter of the Sir system again at least.

If his face was visible, we could see he matches Emily's earlier scowl when she slips into that dig at her pupil. It's a two folds effect, where it bothers him because he knows it's going to get to Blink, nearly any insult thrown her way can, how she is. Then there's the matter of how sexist Emily herself sounds, making it a point that it's a man and not just another person shielding Blink from this. This shouldn't matter, let alone be seen as sinking to low depths as Emily implies so heavily that it is for Blink.

Kamen respects the student/teacher bond enough to let the exchange go without interjecting himself back into it. It doesn't mean he's got a lack of wanting to though, he really wants to very badly, to speak up for the pink haired girl. Though he knows he can't fight Blink's battles for her, merely help her avoid danger as much as he can. Chances are, if he did speak up, it would only mean this gesture's become void and Emily would punish Blink for it afterwards.

He nods his head when Emily turns her attention back onto him and she tells him she has something to inform him of. It's scary listening to her, scary because he very well could see these words coming out of Skull's mouth, directed at Blink in reference to him. The only real difference is that while Blink's had some hard luck lately, Kamen's still been fairly successful in his FIW career so far. Still, he can't shake the eerie feeling it gives him when he realizes how much alike Skull & Emily are in their views on training.

Good thing Kamen eats a punch to the face to snap him out of those thoughts, and make him fall backwards. He admits, he had lost some of his readiness for the abuse by his wandering thoughts but still, he isn't sure if he could've been too ready for that. It felt like a truck hit him in the face going 80 mph, for such a tiny frame, Emily Stratfield packs quite the power behind her punches. Skull is probably one of the few persons he's ever encountered that he knows hits harder than her, and that's a compliment to Emily.

In an odd sort of way.

There's a momentarily pleasant sensation he gets when knocked a little dazed by the punch and he falls back. It's the familiar soft flesh and nice scent he's grown fond of over the past few months, Blink trying her best to catch him, sort of. He tries to ease some of his weight off of her but he's too out of it to really pull that off as well as he'd like with the first try. It's after they almost fall, but don't thanks to the pillars, that he's able to ease some of the burden off of the pink haired girl.

His eyes glance up at the mouse holding him, she looks so distraught, and it makes him feel a little guilty that she has to watch this. It also renews his resolve to do this, this is for her, this is for Blink's safety, so she doesn't get a new bruise or new cut. So she doesn't have to limp around or worry about her wrist, she can go without heavy duty make-up on her face if she so chooses to. This is so that the people she cares about, and care about her, don't have to worry when they see the state she's in.

Get up.

It's what Skull would tell him to do.

Get up.

The Inter-Galactic Hero steadies himself and he pushes off of Blink gently, so that he's back on his feet. He doesn't get long to ready himself for the next punch, being even less prepared than the first time and this one is delivered with more precision. Most likely because Emily's had more time to hit this one and she's now warmed up, and so it rocks the masked man more than the first one. His legs buckle underneath him and his body hits the floor with a thud, and he looks like he might be knocked out.

Link isn't, he tries to ease the landing the best he can and that is rather unsuccessful, and he takes most of the blunt of it. The fall is little more than insult to injury at this point, and he coughs a few times, gasping for air after the shot he took. He forces himself to fight through the pain he's feeling, he's fought through far more severe pain & wounds before, he can do it with this. Part of him expects more to come while he's on the floor and yet Emily never does attack again, maybe waiting for him to stand.

Blink cries out to her teacher, pleading her to stop this correction that she's dishing out on her friend. Kamen hears it, and a part of his heart breaks for her for this, it really is hard for her to watch this happen by the sounds of it. It's almost enough to make him regret his decision, the plan he laid out that all led to this in a worst case scenario. Hopefully she can forgive him and hopefully she can understand why he is doing this.

Once on his feet, he realizes that Emily's no longer interested in him, perhaps growing bored with her little lesson. She instead is reaching for something in her pocket, something she pulls out and she shows Blink, who looks horrified by it. The way they're standing, it blocks Kamen's view of whatever it is that the teacher puts into her student's hand to show her. Soon enough he no longer cares about it is, he's far more concerned with how Blink is reacting to what she's seeing & being given.

The Interstellar Insect is barely paying attention to Emily when she turns around and warns him about doing this again. He's far more interested in Blink, or rather, worried over her breaking down and crying uncontrollably right in front of him. It's then that he sees what she's cradling, a stuffed bear limb, one that should be on Cheer Bear's body. Whatever anger he has for Emily doing this is overwhelmed by the sorrow he feels for how badly this is affecting Blink, and how much he feels bad about it.

SKR: Summer...

With Emily gone, Kamen moves closer towards Blink, he calls out to her softly, sounding about as sad as his demeanor looks. He crouches down beside her and he tries to wrap his arms around her, pulling her in for a comforting hug if he can. His hands trying to rub her back, trying to soothe her from all the crying she is doing after what's been given to her. This didn't go as well as he had hoped; due entirely to him failing to consider Emily would go after Blink in other ways than physical.

SKR: It's okay. Sh, shh, shhh. It's okay. I'm sorry, Summer.

The Hero of Time pulls her in even closer and he rocks her a little in his arms, he's trying his best to calm her a little. His words are soft, barely little more than a whisper in her ear when he tries to settle her down from the near hysteria she's going through. He hangs his head a little and he apologizes to the girl, his attempt to protect her might've hurt her worse than any punch might have. This is why Skull's the brains of the two; he would've considered that option immediately & found a better solution.

It takes Blink a while to finally calm down. Well, calm down enough that she isn't blubbering against a stuffed bear paw anymore. However, even after she stops crying she waits a moment or two before speaking. Probably not something Kamen Ranger wishes to hear, but certainly something Blink wants to say so maybe if he thinks of it that way...

Blink: [size0]I...I should continue my training. Lady Emily has become far too upset with me already.

So she's willing to just up and leave this scene? Well, not as quickly as that as she's slow to erect herself and even slower to continue speaking as she eyes down at the torn limb of her Cheer Bear.

Blink: [size0]Th-thank you for everything you've done...but...I-I don't think we should see each other again this week. I'll still go with you again next week, but this week...I think I should just train.

By “train” she means “think”, but she tells Kamen Ranger “train” because it's just easier, less questions. So that's it then as Blink steps away but stops abruptly. She turns and bows still holding the bear paw as if it were the entire thing.

Blink: [size0]I'm sorry to have gotten you mixed into this...K-K-kun.

A small smile on her lips before she turns and continues forward toward the exit just as Ariel comes into view pressing a hand aside her face looking a little troubled.

Ariel: Sorry. I tried stalling Emily as long as I could but that woman was determined.

A wince of pain in Ariel's expression when she checks her hand, in what appears to be from a multiple time, for blood from the scratches across her cheek that she covers back up with her hand.

Ariel: Anyway, almost afraid to ask, but...how'd Miss. Madison take it when you told her?

Kamen doesn't fight Blink's departure from the scene, he knows what's going on and it's best to leave it as it is. Some might be quick to forget but just last week he had been the one with alot to think about, and he recognizes that same quality in her. It scares him a little, he has to admit, but he understands why she's got alot to think about, alot of things just happened at this Halloween party. There's been even more than those present at the party know of, things only Blink and he know of.

He's simply thankful she stopped crying.

The one thing that does cheer him up a little is when she wishes him farewell, the nickname she uses for him. If we could see beneath the mask, there'd probably be a smiling, and maybe blushing, face looking at Blink as she leaves. There's so much he wants to say to her and yet he doesn't, he simply nods a few times & he lets her leave. It's for the best; she's already got alot to think about, no sense in piling on more to the already quite large heap.

Well, this didn't go as he had hoped.

Just the way it is.

When Ariel arrives and she tries to apologize to him, he simply shakes his head at her apology. It's his quiet way of letting her know it's okay, there's no need for an apology, she did far more than he could've asked of her. Her wounds, as minor as they may seem, are still ones he feels regret over, regret that she had to get hurt in her attempts to help. He can respect her degree of loyalty to Blink, it's commendable, in fact, he'd go as far as to say that level of devotion is impressive. She is merely Blink's maid afterall.

SKR: Badly.

It's the one word he's willing to toss Ariel's way to answer her question, albeit there's a chance there's been a misunderstanding. As by the sounds of it, how sad he sounds, Kamen is talking about something very different than what Ariel is asking him about. It begs the question, what does he think Blink took so badly, his gift, his standing up for her after Emily's final refusal, what?! Ariel and the viewers don't get an answer to this question, because the Hero of Time walks away, leaving the party.

Also present at the Halloween Party, but mingling off-camera, are...

-Rick Nuller, dressed as the Penguin; last seen chatting with the caterers.

-El Cuervo Blanco, dressed as Star Man; last seen dancing to the music in the ballroom.

-Jefe, dressed as himself, sitting at the bar and drinking beers because they're free.

-Felipe Smith, dressed as Chewbacca but without the head portion of his costume, looking incredibly lost.

-Black Mage Dexter Cloud, dressed as White Mage. At one point he tried to hit on Sarah Twilight. For his sake, she completely missed the pick-up line, and he was able to go about his business unscathed.
