With the latest issue of Vogue resting gently in her grip, Emily rests back in the pure white couch of her hotel room inside of the Hotel Meurice. She calmly flips through the pages catching up on the latest fashion tips showing slight disgust toward the multitude of ads placed inside. But the articles, in her opinion, seem to be worth the price of purchase. Her gloves are resting on the table along with her cosmopolitan drink. This seems like the perfect environment for her; a good read, great drink, comfortable setting, a couch she could fall asleep in, and a struggling to breath Blink lying in a pool of her own blood on a plastic sheet in the front room. Yes, things couldn't be more perfect for this redhead...all she needs is a student who's both competent and capable of following the simplest of guidelines and rules.

Emily: Archibald won't be too pleased when he finds out you've been skipping on your training for your match with him. [size0]Not that I care what he thinks.

Blink: I...I...I...I'm sorry...Lady Emily.

Emily: Would you mind not coughing out your apologies to me, Blink? It really is dampening my mood.

Blink: I'm sorry...Lady Emily...I-I'll...I'll try.

Emily: You will not try, Blink.

She responds thrusting the magazine down over her lap as she gazes over at Blink still lying there clawing the sheet underneath her hand as her eyes stare directly ahead of her at the stand beneath the flower pot.

Emily: To try means that you are expecting failure, something that in your position you shouldn't even bother thinking about. Do you not know how annoyed I was when you first came in?

Currently unable to move due to the pain coursing through her body with her own blood acting as a pillow...yeah, I think Blink knows how annoyed you were.

Emily: This tournament now offers you the chance to remedy two mistakes you've made in the past. The first was losing to that Christian person, and the second was losing your title opportunity. I understand that losing to Christian no longer holds merit in this tournament to yourself, but when you win this tournament you will be given a chance to succeed where he has failed and therefore put you in a better position at besting him. That is what you want.

Blink: Y-yes...Lady Emily.

Emily: Then why are you gallivanting around with those pathetic people who hold no bearings to your match this week? Why are you ignoring your duties? Why are you ignoring your training? Why are you ignoring me?

Those are too many questions for Blink to answer, especially in her current state, and thankfully Emily realizes that as she places her magazine down next to her drink.

Emily: I believe I've given myself a long enough break.

Emily grabs hold of her gloves and rises up to her feet sliding her hands inside each making sure they're in nice and snug. She then rounds the table making her way toward the already beaten and battered student who can only eye up at her fearing the worst. And it comes without warning as Emily thrusts the toe of her shoe deep into Blink's ribs ready to resume the correcting.

It's been some time since Blink had undertaken the first part in her punishment for constantly and deliberately disobeying the orders given to her. She doesn't look too bad anymore as she's had a chance to clean herself up so all we really see are a few scrapes across the face.

She's confused now. Confused, nervous, and a tad bit frightened over the second, and final, portion of the punishment. Why is she seated at the dining room table and why is there a thick pad of paper in front of her? Things become a little clearer to the Bad Girl when she hears Emily approaching holding onto a notebook and a small case of pens. She slaps the notebook down in front of Blink, causing the Bad Girl to jump with fright, and gently places the case of pens down beside it.

Emily: Open the book.

Blink obeys the command and opens up the book. Inside is basically what she had expected to see; words. Words written in Emily's writing that cover up the entire page. Blink lifts up the corner to peek at the next page and sure enough it's just as full. In fact, judging by the side of the pages none of them look fresh, they all look like that could be filled like these first few pages.

Emily: They're everything you've done wrong in the past few weeks. You are going to sit here and write out a full apology letter for each one. And when I say “full”, I mean full. I don't want to receive a letter that says “Dear Lady Emily, I'm sorry for such and such and I promise I won't do it again.” You will write out in full detail what you have done wrong, why you thought it would be a good idea to do it, the consequences you have learned from it, and everything that went wrong to everyone around you because of your actions.

Then Emily places something else down on the table; a box of envelopes.

Emily: When you have finished each letter, you are to seal them inside an envelope placing my name on the front of them. And if it so happens that your actions have wronged someone, you will write them a similar letter. Is that understood?

Blink: Yes, Lady Emily.

Emily: Good. I expect to see you finished with these by the morning, at which point you will present all letters to me.

Emily turns ready to leave Blink up to her writing but stops when she remembers something. She turns back around and places down a small slip of paper on the table beside the book. A receipt?

Emily: You will pay me back for these materials in full by the end of the week.

Blink: Yes, Lady Emily.

And that's that. Emily leaves Blink to it as she heads into her room to get some much needed rest. Blink slides down the first piece of paper in front of her and reads the first thing she's done wrong. Approaching Sarah Twilight. So this will be a two letter problem. Ignoring the urge to see just how deep these problems go in the book, Blink begins writing first to Emily.

It's morning as Emily opens up the door of her bedroom only to spot Blink resting down on her knees with a series of envelopes in her hands. For the briefest of moments Emily is a little surprised to see that Blink was able to complete the task. But did she? She takes hold of the envelopes and begins flipping through them to see not only her name but a variety of others. She takes these into her room where she'll begin reading them through, but instead she throws them amidst the burning logs of the rooms fireplace. Quick to leave her room, Emily looks down at Blink on her way toward the kitchen.

Emily: We'll start your days training with a hundred or so push ups. Begin.

Doesn't Blink get to rest? Of course not, it's a new day and as a new day it's time to begin training. Emily isn't about to adjust the schedule for a woman that's just gotten out of her punishing details. Hey, I worked in the title.

While Blink begins the push ups, Emily watches her from behind the counter before deciding to take interest in the one envelope in her hand. It's addressed to her and sealed a little weakly. One of the final envelopes Blink sealed, maybe. So with great ease Emily manages the envelope open and proceeds to look over the note inside. Two pages, single spaced, double sided. A letter apologizing for nothing Emily wrote in the book, in fact it's an apology letter for the fact that Emily had to write the book in the first place. Emily lowers the note after reading the first few paragraphs.

Emily: Blink, come here.

A whole new beating is ready to ensue as Blink once again did something not asked of her to perform. Blink approaches her mentor a little nervously, given the events of the day before, but is surprised when she feels Emily patting her head a few times. Too surprised to feel the usual melting sensation or to even purr with delight. She's just...surprised.

Emily: Now resume your push ups, but restart the count at one.

Blink: Yes, Lady Emily!

There's a smile to Blink's face as she drops down and restarts her work out.

With another days training session coming to a close, Blink feels now is the best time to mention it. They just returned from a stroll around a couple of districts in Paris, by which I mean Emily strolled and Blink suicided, threw herself from wall to wall, and a variety of other exercises performed in the name of training. They're now standing before Emily's hotel room ready to go in but first the redhead needs to get her card out. No rush, Blink's only holding the several packages you've bought yourself.

Blink: [size0]Um...Lady Emily?

Emily: Blink, I understand those packages might have a little weight to them but somewhere in your empty head there must be a little patience. Access it, hm?

The look that Emily gives her student is one that demands silence. Blink obliges as the redhead turns back toward the door letting out a sigh as she begins muttering to herself about the ineptitude of her student. Once she gets the door open, Emily steps off to the side and makes an over reacting gesture for Blink to enter.

Emily: There you are, your majesty, the door is open for you.

Blink: [size0]Th-thank you...Lady Emily.

Sarcasm, why doesn't Blink get it? The Bad Girl enters the front room with packages ready to be placed down on the coffee table. Though just as she gets close, Emily calls out while hanging up her coat.

Emily: Blink, how often can you say the staff of this particular hotel have come to waltz through your house kicking dirt around?

Blink looks over her shoulder a little confused. They don't normally have visitors at the manor, but she hasn't been there since the tour began so...

Emily: Since the beginning of the week I have respected the work done in this room by the house keepers employed. You seem to have a total lack of regard for my own level of respect and the work put into keeping this room presentable.

Blink: I-I'm sorry, La--

Emily: Take off...your shoes.

Blink does a little double take between the coffee table and her mentor wondering what to do with the packages in the mean time but in the end follows through with the order and comes back to the front room stepping out of her sneakers before padding in her socked feet back toward the coffee table to rest the packages down. Now would be a good time to slump down on the couch but instead Blink stands by the table with hands resting over one another at her front.

Blink: Um...Lady Emily?

Emily: Yes, Blink,

The redhead begins dropping herself down on the couch before taking hold of her fashion magazine.

Emily: You may have some water from the tap.

Blink: Um, thank you, Lady Emily.

That's actually pretty kind of her but unfortunately that's not what Blink was after. She needs to talk with Emily about what Sarah told her. Not in the Brady Bunch tattle-tale scandal way, but in the “she actually has some good ideas” sort of way. Not hearing the faucet running, Emily lowers the magazine a little only to notice that her student is standing there looking like she's uncertain of what to do with herself.

Emily: Blink?

Blink turns her attention toward Emily. Yeah, there's something she can do.

Emily: While it might be hard for you to understand the concept of water to cup, please at least try and surprise me by performing the task for yourself.

Blink: Y-yes, Lady Emily.

The Bad Girl turns making her way into the kitchenette taking hold of one of the glasses left in the room for hotel visitor use. Emily has only watched up to this point as she arches up a brow in disbelief of Blink's stupidity before looking back at her magazine. Only a little thirsty, Blink has herself a small drink and spends an even longer time than prep staring down at the faucet. Why isn't she saying anything? Doesn't she want to be with Sarah? If she shows up at the date saying “I haven't talked to her about it yet” then who knows what the reaction might be? For one thing they certainly wouldn't be able to move forward and the date would become an awkward affair. Blink doesn't want that, she wants Sarah to feel as comfortable as she can around her. It's another quick drink and then she's off to tell her. No, that's not a plan, it's action there as Blink has her drink and makes her way back to Emily.

Blink: Lady Emily?

Emily: Mm.

Bathroom. It's Blink's sudden destination of choice as she purposefully looks for an escape. This is indeed one of the hardest things she's ever had to do. It's alright to talk about making her own decisions with friends like Kamen Ranger and Ariel, but when it comes to doing it with Emily? Blink's a little hesitant, afraid even of what it just might lead to. Not another correcting, but an immediate dismissal. As much as Blink may like Sarah, she won't leave Emily for her. She won't leave Emily for anyone. Believe me, Catherine has tried that persuasion route having grown just as fed up with the beatings on her partner as anyone. But no, this is something Blink believes in. It's just a minor adjustment, Emily shouldn't feel too bad about it because hey, it's all about training and making Blink out to be the better student in the eyes of everyone else. Then what comes of that? Emily looks like a freakin' genius with her training methods. Alright, Blink's going to do this. For Sarah, and Emily.

Blink: Lady Emily?

She asks after approaching the redhead once more. This time she gets more than just some noise response, she actually gets her full attention as Emily lowers the magazine to look up at her student standing there by the packages once more.

Emily: Blink?

She returns almost mocking Blink's tone of voice.

Blink: Um, well...I-I was, um, thinking and...

This is quite enthralling. Emily closes up the magazine over her index finger and rests her chin in the palm of her other hand looking as though she's going to try her hardest to keep up. Of course it doesn't help Blink seeing Emily like this, not to mention that she's questioning on whether or not she should bring up Sarah's name. Chances are Emily would only take it as pillow talk between the two if she did mention her, so Blink just goes ahead with it in her regretting fashion.

Blink: I sorta figured that, um, the, uh, the...corrections were actually...hindering my performance?

She didn't mean to finish it off like some question, it's just how it came out. And she certainly doesn't mean to take credit for the idea, it's just so that Emily takes it a little more seriously.

Emily: So...

The redhead begins trying to see if she can get this right or not.

Emily: You believe that when I correct your errors...that makes you worse? Does this mean you're against the justice system as well? I'm sure any enforcer of the law would--

Blink: No, no, Lady Emily, I...I mean it just sort of makes me look weak to...other people.

Now the magazine goes down on the coffee table. Blink wishes it hadn't been placed there but she's in far too deep into this, she can't just apologize for bringing it up. Emily is bound to do some more correcting here.

Emily: So spotting an error and correcting it, that is what makes you appear weak to others?

Blink: No, it's the...the...

There's a word here Blink wants to use and she knows it. She should, she hears it used by so many others in regards to the corrections that it's now being the first to pop into her head. She's never thought about them this way, she's never accepted that this is what they were. But in order to get her point across, Blink feels she has to use it. Sarah give her strength.

Blink: [size0]Beatings.

Blink looks downward as Emily, well, she's just flabbergasted.

Emily: Beatings? Is that what they were to you?

Blink: No, Lady Emily, it's--

Emily: You've been speaking with those people again, haven't you? The ones you've tricked yourself into believing were your friends.

Blink: No, Lady Emily!

Emily: How many times have I told you that friendship is worthless? It'll never get you anywhere.

Blink: No, Lady Emily, it was me. It...it was my idea.

In a way it's already been mentioned by Blink, but still Emily is surprised to hear this. Clear case of insubordination, disobedience, ungratefulness. After everything that Emily has done for her, this is how Blink reacts? How long has Blink been thinking this way? Since the beginning? Emily clenches up her fists.

Emily: Dismissed.

Blink heard it but she can't believe it.

Blink: [size0]What?

Emily looks up and for the first time in a long time...is crying.

Emily: Dismissed! I said you were dismissed! Get out! Get out of my sight!

Blink: Lady Emily, I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!

Emily: Out! Get out!

Blink doesn't oblige these orders, instead she anchors herself by dropping down to the floor on her hands and knees crying out apology after apology after apology. Emily only stands, glaring down at her former student as tears still find their way to well up in her eyes. She shakes her head muttering something incoherently about being betrayed. Finally, Emily just points to the door yelling out.

Emily: Out!

Blink's response is to grip hold of Emily's ankle not wanting to leave this room or, more importantly, her side. In response to this, Emily begins shaking her foot trying to get Blink to release her grip.

Emily: Let...go!

Blink shakes her head and desperately begins kissing at her foot. Ordinarily Emily would find this enjoyable, but right now isn't that time as she finally breaks Blink's grip regaining her foot stepping the other one back before Blink can get that one. Having failed there, Blink rests her forehead to the floor and continues sobbing.

Emily: Out.

As simple a demand as one could give, Emily follows this up by turning away from Blink. Hearing her footsteps growing fainter and fainter, Blink looks up shaking her head. One last chance to set things right as Blink pushes herself to her feet catching up to Emily forcing her to turn around before kissing her. It's only a short kiss as Blink is shoved away by her former teacher.

Blink: I love you, Lady Emily, please don't--

*SLAP!*

Blink stumbles back resting a hand over her cheek watching as Emily gives one final glare her way before turning to leave into her room slamming the door shut behind her. Blink slowly begins crying out again before turning for the door following Emily's final order and taking her leave. Quietly.
