The scene fades in on the ding of elevator doors opening and Joe Stanton stepping into them, slinging his gym bag over his shoulder. The glass elevator draws his attention to the hotel lobby's fountain so that he doesn't even notice someone else scoot into the elevator to share it with him. Least not till the doors close and he turns around to come face to face with Anna Bowie, she smiles at him.

"Mr. Stanton."

Anna says with a growing smile, fake as the day is long. Joe offers her back a polite smile.

"Ms. Bowie."

Nodding, Joe offers an acknowledgement of her existence. Obviously he plays coy about why she's decided to catch him here.

"Making friends already with some of your opponents this week, did you happen to hear Rob Garcia's response to your advice?"

The interviewer and the wrestler share a look, one that's a clear communication that Anna wants a juicy scoop and Joe thinks she's stirring the pot. He rolls his shoulders into a shrug of his shoulders, glancing up to presumably his eventual destination.

"Yeah, I caught what the guy had to say. He is the Rising Champion, and he does have a pretty decent win loss record to his name. Goofier than the Brit I hang around with that wears a mask and loves the USA, but I never said he lacked talent inside the ring. The two don't directly correlate. If they did, maybe Nathaniel would have more luck against Dream."

The Scarlet Speedster concedes and even sounds vaguely congratulatory for Rob Garcia and his career in FIW thus far. He waves a hand at the notion that goofy means a lack of skill, gesturing at Anna about if so how things might be different for the Diamond Standard. A comment that plainly gets a look out of Anna that she doesn't want to touch that with a three foot pole.

"But..."

A sharp inhale, Joe's nostrils flare and he mulls over something in his head. Reaching up with his right hand, he scratches at the left side of his chin in thought.

"If he's under the impression that he can make a declaration that I'm first man out of the battle royal by his hand, he might be in for a little bit of a rude awakening. And, if he tries to make good on that declaration...well..."

A sharp exhale through his nose and Joe smirks grimly.

"He's in for a bad time."

That dark smirk turns into a smile and he holds up his hands as if to say what're you going to do at Anna.

"Could be a valuable life lesson for him. If he remembers it. A well placed punch to the jaw can do nasty things to the memory. A tumble out of the ring can too."

Nodding his head with a smile, Joe stops when he recalls what can mess with the mind and he faux cringes. Anna nods and the look in her eyes says she's not done yet.

"And, his comment about Kim and you?"

Anna is looking like a shark that smells blood in the water, so one can imagine her disappointment by the lack of a reaction from Joe. He shrugs his shoulders and he plants his hands on the railing behind him, leaning back against the wall of the elevator.

"He can think what he likes. I know how things went down, a lot of people do. Thing is, unlike two thirds of the opposing team in the trios match I'm in, cuckold isn't my kink."

Grimacing at the thought of it, Joe shakes his head and Anna looks infinitely more pleased at this response. Instantaneously Joe holds up a hand, as if to hold her back, a look of concern on his face.

"Not that there's anything wrong with that."

Sternly Stanton confirms that he doesn't begrudge Nathaniel's or Stephen's fetishes.

"Different strokes for different folks."

Holding out his hands, Joe gestures to show that everything's kosher. The interviewer on the other hand is looking confident.

"Speaking of the Coulter Crew, you've had some run ins with them. Between Nathaniel taking his shots a few weeks ago in a tag match and last week when you tried to help save your friend, thoughts of pay back on him? And, what of Stephen? He's the Fighting Spirit Champion, the trios match provides a good opportunity to work him over before the title match and maybe soften him up for yourself?"

Somewhere in the midst of Anna's speculation Joe's taken to very over the toply stroking his chin in thought, nodding along with her narrative. Slipping out a few "Mhmm"'s and ""Ah, yes, quite"'s, as if the Watson to her Sherlock.

"All great ideas!"

He gets a great big smile and he slaps her on the back, catching her off guard and sending her staggering slightly.

"Truth is, sure, I could. And, if the situation plays out that way, I'll crack Nathaniel's chiseled jaw into powder. If Eversol and I are in there, well, I'll do the same to him too. I'm not going to spare their feelings, or their bodies. But that's not what I'm really hoping for with this match."

Wiggling his hand, Joe looks very eh at the thought.

"Firstly, I'm not the type to lessen a challenge. I'd like Eversol as much at his best as possible for the main event. Makes the whole thing less fun if he's limping into it or nursing a wicked headache."

He looks over at Anna, awaiting an agreement that never comes. Namely because she's starting to doubt she's dealing with someone completely sane.

"Secondly, way I see it, my team mates and those two have a lot of issues. A lot. Of. Issues."

Dipping his head, Joe's green eyes stare into Anna's eyes as if to emphasize the gravity of bad blood between the Amazing Dream Team & the Coulter Crew.

"And, I would not be the gentleman I am if I were to deny those folks and the fans an opportunity to see some level of resolution to the whole bloody affair."

Placing a hand on his chest and outstretching the other to the skies, Joe does his best Bill & Ted impression when he reveals his motives. Anna's skepticism comes through in her expression, staring at him.

"You just want another round with Freakshow, don't you?"

Stanton looks simply offended at the very notion!

"Why, Ms. Bowie! How could you suggest such a thing?!"

Scoffing in disbelief in a questionably ridiculous way, Joe looks at her aghast!

"I mean, certainly the last time we met was one of the funniest matches I've had here so far. And, of course I would not reject another helping of that kind of challenge. Especially if it meant that I granted my team mates, my friends the chance to handle their business. But I would never engineer such a scenario!"

The faux horror can only sustain itself in his body language and tone long enough to finish his little spiel at her. A sly smile creeps in on him and his phone goes off, making him glance away from her at it just as the doors ding again. Still looking down at his phone, he bolts out of the elevator, turning around in time to look at Anna as the doors are closing.

"Who do you take me for?"

The fake pleading tone isn't nearly as convincing as the doors close and the piece ends, all the moreso cause of the giant grin on Joe's face.
