Sorry to disappoint, but there's no catchy tune to serve as the intro for this. Rather, we see The Dream sleeping on a couch, remote control in his hand. The sounds of Joe Stanton's victory are heard coming from a nearby television as Dream shifts subtly, the sleep overtaking him.

BOOM!

The door swings open as Michael Hayden looks around, a slight grimace on his face. Hayden walks over to Dream, stop sleeping and unaware of what's going to happen next.

"DREAM! WAKE UP YOU DEGENERATE!"

After what can generously be called a gentle nudge (see: kick to the shins), Dream wake up, startled and in pain.

"Ouch dammit! What the f- oh hey Michael. Why'd you kick me?"

"We need to talk."

"That doesn't explain the assault, but okay."

Dream shifts to a more comfortable position as Hayden takes a seat. Hayden looks directly at Dream, the serious look in his eyes killing Dream's quips before he can think of them.

"For the record, I'm not speaking to you as the Head of Talent Relations. I'm speaking to you as a friend. So with that said, there's been some talk among the staff. Some concerns were raised, and I'm here to get answers and put them at ease."

Dream nods along, choosing to stay silent.

"Lets cut to the chase: I know you. I've known you for years. And I know when you're not motivated. I know when you're just going through the motions. Even worse, no one seems to be able to find you until you show up to the arena for the show.

With that said, I'm going to ask you a simple question. Are you on drugs?"

You can hear a pin drop as Dream and Hayden look at one another. Dream looks puzzled; Hayden remains stoic. Finally, Dream cracks a smile.

"Hey man, I've cleared my medical marijuana with Doc Stevens. And even then, I made it known when I signed my contract. There's no pills or heavy drugs in my system, just legally prescribed marijuana."

Hayden nods, mulling over Dream's words.

"And the disappearing act?"

"Ah. Well that takes more explanation.

I'll say it like this. You can have steak every day, right? And steak is delicious, so you don't complain. But after a while, it stops being special. You get used to the steak, and you don't appreciate it as much because you're so used to it.

I've fought the Coulter Crew man. I've said a million different things a million different times, and I'm still fighting them. I know they're a problem I do. Hell, I've been fighting them since this whole mess started. But at a certain point.... I don't know. I just need a break from them throughout the week."

Dream shrugs before leaning back in his seat, apparently satisfied with his explanation. Hayden seems to mull over his words before standing up.

"I'm gonna say this once, and I'm gonna say it slow.

Get over yourself."

Dream sits up, a serious look on his face.

"Do you know how many names I see come across my desk? How many hopeful wrestlers are begging to join? I'm up to my neck in videos and applications, and yet I still show up and do my job. I don't complain, I don't ask for a different position, I do what I need to.

You're in the best position of your career right now Dream. You just fought for the title, you won the Revolt Rumble, and you're consistently in the main event. Who cares if you're fighting the Crew from now until February, you're among the best FIW has to offer when you decide to give a damn. I can tell you right now I've lobbied for you, April's lobbied for you, but if you're complaining because you want table scraps instead of steak then our words don't matter.

You need to decide right now if you're going to get out of whatever pity party you're in and man up, or you can put in a shit performance and lose your mask. Your choice."

Dream shoots up, a mixture of anger and confusion on his face.

"Lose my mask? Why would I lose my mask?"

"Kim made the match. Don't you watch the show?"

Dream's hands fly up to his mask, the reality setting in.

"I can't lose this mask. I can't. I've had this for years!

I gotta go. Gotta train. Gotta do..... well I don't know yet, but I'll figure it out!"

Dream runs out the front door, only to appear a few moments later

"I just realized this is my place. I need you to leave."

Hayden looks as though he's going to speak, only to pause and shake his head.Hayden pats Dream on the shoulder before walking out the door and heading out.
