All members of Faceoff, including members of the staff, are to abide by the following rules for the complete duration of each and every visit. The rules and regulations apply to all methods of posting, including private messages sent, and action will be taken against any member found in violation of our rules.

1. Posting

Post's containing the following will be deleted/moved and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken if deemed required. Members can appeal disciplinary action handed out by staff at the time a member is informed they have been found in violation:

  • Profanity.
  • Racial, ethnic, gender insults, or discriminatory material of any kind.
  • Rude or inflammatory behavior toward members and staff.
  • Posting private conversations including, but not limited to: personal messages, instant message conversations or e-mail conversations, hidden, altered or removed content.
  • Short, useless posts or excessive repeated posts—i.e., spam.
  • Pornography, warez, or any other illegal activities.
  • Personal or contact details of yourself or anyone else. This includes, but is not limited to, email addresses, telephone numbers, etc.

1a. Plagiarism:
You may not post articles from outside sources (ESPN, TSN, etc.) without giving proper credit to the source. We also ask that you do not copy the entire article (the first two paragraphs usually suffice), and then post the link back to the original article.

If it is an article created by you, originally posted on another forum/blog we ask that you DO NOT post the link back to the original article, the exception being if you're a blogger who has affiliated with Faceoff and wish to use this method to draw more views to your site.

1b. Advertising:
You may not advertise by means of links, signature, or PM (Private message) unless you have come to an agreement with Faceoff.

Sending Private Messages, advertising is strictly prohibited even if an agreement is reached (as all partners will be informed upon agreement of a partnership.)

Links, by means of creating a thread or replying to a thread, with the sole intention of placing a link to another site to draw members away from Faceoff (even if a partnership if formed) will also be prohibited, with the exception being posted in the affiliate section.

Having a signature that promotes another site will be allowed (as long as it is done in a tasteful manner, and a partnership has been reached.) Whether or not a signaturel falls under the definition of "tasteful manner" will be decided solely by the discretion of Faceoff Administration.
