Alek

He cradled his cheek in his hand. Tears streamed down his face. "NO!" he roared, "YOU'RE LYING. IT'S NOT TRUE. CHARLES IS STILL ALIVE. HE WANTS ME TO COME HOME, THAT'S ALL. HE'S NOT DEAD. IT'S JUST A DREAM." Alek walked backwards, trying to escape from the truth. "NOT DEAD, ONLY DREAMING. NOT DEAD, ONLY DREAMING." His crying intensified and he fell onto the floor. He pulled his knees up to his chest and rocked himself back and forth. Soon, he found himself lying cheek to floor, still crying.

"Not dead, only dreaming. Not dead, only dreaming. Not dead, only dreaming," he chanted.

Valeria

Valeria clenched her fist. It really did pain her to see him this way and she felt there was nothing she cold do for him. He had lost the only person he had left that he was close to.

Valeria knelt down beside him on the floor. She lifted him up into a sitting position and then pulled him into a hug. Even if this was a seemingly small gesture, she wanted to try and at least help him in some way.

"...Alek...About Charles...I'm so sorry.Truly, I am."

Alek sniffed, trying to keep both Grey's pajamas and Valeria's outfit, but he seemed to be failing miserably. It had only been a minute, but already Valeria's dress seemed to be a nasty, snotty mess. Alek didn't care. He merely snuggled closer into her and said, "Take me home, Val. Take me home."

"Alright, Alek."

She stood up and went to tell Grey she was sorry but she needed to take Alek back to the circus.

When she returned to where Alek was sitting, she helped him but kept her arm wrapped around his back. She feared that if she removed even a little of the support she gave him, he'd only break down again. She walked him gently out the door of the shop and into the cold morning air and lead him down the road back towards the circus.

"Is...is there any specific place in the circus you want me to take you" she asked?

"Home," he replied once more. "Just home. Home, home, home, home..."

Valeria

A slight sigh escaped her. Home. She couldn't take him to the C&P house. That place was off limits now while Perin and Zane was investigating Charles' death. His body hadn't even been removed yet as far as she was aware.

The only place she knew to take him was her tent.

They entered the circus grounds and she walked Alek to her tent. One they where inside, she sat him down in a chair and left for a few minuets.

She soon returned with a cup of coffee and placed it on the table in front of him. "Here. You should drink something. Hopefully it will help calm you down a bit."

She then paused trying to think of what to do next. This was a hard situation so she was sure he probably didn't want much company. He needed to get a grasp on what had happened after all.

"I'm sure you want some time to yourself to sort things out so if you need anything, I'll be in the acrobatics wing." she told him as she turned to leave.

"NO!" he screamed. Alek grabbed hold of Valeria's dress. Clutching it, he pulled her close to him. "Don't leave me. Please don't leave me here by myself."

Valeria

She looked at him a bit bewildered. His reaction had been the complete opposite of what she had expected

"Alright."

She looked at him a bit thoughtful before giving him a comforting hug. What was with her and trying so hard to comfort him today? Not to mention all the hugging. Somehow, she had turned into Alek's emotional crutch.

"If you don't want me to leave then I wont. I wont leave you here by yourself. I'll stay right here so calm down. Everything's going to be alright, okay?" she told him calmly.

Conrad the Clown
"Siiiiirrrrrrrrrr-PRIZE!" Conrad cried as he stepped into the tent. He blew a party horn, causing the paper to unroll and the end flicked Valeria's head.

He giggled as he pulled up his own chair, sitting in it backwards. "We didn't get to finish our discussion, didn't we, Georges? Feel like it now? You know I don't want there to be any hard feelings between us."

Alel blinked at Conrad's antics. This was not the right freaking time. He did not need Conrad bothering him now; things were bad enough without him already. "Go away, stupid clown. I don't have time for you right now. Leave me... us---leave us alone."
