LUCAS Lucas walked through the hallway and he was suddenly startled by a women who yelled "MY SAVIOUR" He stood back hesitantly on his guard and analysed the women. She looked up at him, her eyes seemed tired as if she was just through a long journey. He decided it couldnt hurt to help her, although he was never really good with human interaction. "see, I was looking for my room...", "...but then...uhhh...I got a bit lost...could you please help me...?" Lucas took the peice of paper she was holding and stared at it hard. He was suddenly surprised. This women wasnt lost, her room was in the same area as his. Did Lady Claire maybe do this on purpose? "Follow me, i'll take you there. Dont lose sight of me though, or you'll really be lost." He led the women off, and due to his bad manners had forgotten to ask her name. He would save it for another time, he thought. Colette Victors Colette gave another of her charming fake laughs. "Why, I don't know what you're suggesting, Lady Claire. Come along, Pan." She set off at a brisk pace, while Pan trailed behind her, looking absolutely distraught. Colette considered dropping her off at the baths the children had to use, and then going to clean herself up, but then she quickly realised that would be a bad idea, Pan would have disappeared by the time she made it back. The only reason she hadn't tried escaping yet was because Claire had permitted it. She sighed to herself; she'd actually have to supervise the girl, and in order to do that, she'd have to take her to her rooms, which of course would run the risk of letting the girl get amongst her belongings, which included her private books, some of which were rare and expensive first-editions, and her own writings, which were either of the "weird horror" genre or...a more smutty romance nature. Colette turned around, glaring briefly at the girl, who didn't seem to notice. If Pan laid her grubby little fingers on them she'd burn them off. When Lady Claire had asked her to join the Shelter, she had leapt at the chance, thrilled at the chance to teach about something she was passionate about and also help younger children gifted with powers. That had been about six years ago. And nothing had changed. The students were miserable depressing children, with no respect for their education, and no gratitude for the fact the lived like royalty compared to every other orphanage and workhouse in London. And as well as that, there were the children that just seemed...off, like that strange girl Irina Sidha. It was utterly depressing at this point, and frankly, Colette was sick of giving her life to these ingrates. No. She'd leave soon enough. But first, she'd pay them back for six years of her life. But for now, she realised, as her door loomed ahead, was the time for a more childish revenge. "Once inside, you will not touch anything unless I tell you otherwise, especially none of my books. Understand?" Colette said to the girl. "I have a private bathroom and you will use that, rather than your usual baths. You will be grateful. And when you leave these rooms, you will come out looking like a much more respectable and presentable young woman." "I'll of course get you some clean clothes befitting a girl your age. And as for your current clothes- well, I don't think any amount of cleaning could save them at this point. I'll destroy them for you." Her eyes flashed red with her heat vision. Pan looked like she was about to -loudly- protest at that point, or maybe try and use her powers to try and escape, but Colette had already grabbed her arm and dragged her inside. Luke Sven "Agree? When isn't Miss Claire up to something?" He paused. That did sound a little bad didn't it. "No, I don't mean that at all. Of course, Miss Claire is out saviour, and is really doing a lot for us, but sometimes, I know that she is not telling us a lot of things! We're old enough, correct? But, oh, do I want to go to a normal life again. I could be normal enough, I can hide these wings pretty easily. But, you do have a point, I do not want to stay here forever. Anyway, you're probably bound to stay here forever, I can't think of any person that would marry you! Anyway, no dowry, and what fun is that?" Sven thought about what he had said. He could hide his wings, right? Fold them and have them under his shirt? Sometimes he wished that he could be like so many other opf the children at the shelter, including Miss Gabrielle. Most of them could hide thier powers away, or thier powers weren't having to do with thier appearence, so after they learned to control them, they could supress them, and live practically a normal life, except for the fact of thier terribly low social class. He couldn't hide it though, and for when the time when he was to marry approuched, he couldn't hide his wings. But then, he thought, Am I really so caught up on low we are in class? I can't forget, someday, somewhere, one of us may be able to meet our parents. And then, depending on how he or she was, one of them could live a perfectly normal life. But, if he did meet his parent, what would they say? No, in many ways, he didn't want to meet his father, because, he couldn't imagine the emotional stress of it all. ((When Sven says "I can't think of any person that would want to marry you" he is speaking of the children, ebing in an orphanage, are sort of low in social status.)) |

Pan Pan was slowly watching her life fall apart before her eyes. Life without a healthy layer of dirt and grime coating her was hardly a life at all, not to mention the shock from the sheer mention of sticking her in a dress was far too much to handle. Pans eyes were opened wide and her mouth unable to form more than a shocked 'o'. Then, Pan had a plan. Yes, it was deliciously evil and caused a low blow to her pride, but Pan's acting skills were top notch, and she could lie like nobody's business. Colette was dead. Standing rigidly in the middle of the spit-spot clean room, Pan feigned complete nervousness and even, for a second, tossed Colette a scared look. Then, Pan sat down, brought her knees up to her eternally-bound chest, and began to cry. "Ms. Victors you're the nicest to me. I'm so so sorry I got your pretty clothes so dirty. I- I-" She let out a blubbering sob to heighten her effectiveness, "I'm just sad because you're so pretty, and I don't even know how you do it. It must take hours to act so graceful and elegant, and, and, and My ma dropped me off when I was real, real little and I never knew what it was girls acted like." That's right, Pan was going to take every ounce of satisfaction out of this for Colette. Stifling tears, she looked up at Colette, her face the perfect mixture of beseeching adoration, "... Ms. Victors, will you teach me what Ma never did? Will you teach me how to act like a pretty elegant girl, just like you Ms. Victors? That'd make me very, very happy!" Pan channeled her 'enthusiastic cute puppy' act, the one Lady Claire bought hook, line, and sinker, the one that, when coupled with the plea to actually help Pan act like a girl, was designed to zap every ounce of sadistic joy out of Colette's nefarious plans. "Can I have a really pretty purple dress, like the one you wore yesterday?" Pan even tossed in some cute sparkling eyes at, yanking off her hat and vest enthusiastically and tossing them in the trashcan. "Oh man, I bet Peter won't know what hit him when he sees how you're gonna doll me up. He always said I'd make a real cute girl, but being on the streets and all, being a cute girl isn't too smart-" She blushed, "- Geeze, I wonder if Pete 'ill notice me if you doll me up real good." She gave the prefect impression of a lovestruck girl as she sank to the floor with a dreamy sigh. "Pete was pretty sad when my hair got caught in the factory machines and I had to chop it off-" Again her eyes watered, "You think I can still be pretty even if my hair isn't as long as yours? I bet if anyone can make it pretty, you could." In her head, Pan did know a guy named Peter, and they were friends, so she bet if she found him and told him, despite all the unmentionable amounts of lace and bows involved, he'd join Operation Crush Colette in a heart beat. And never let Pan forget she wore a dress, but hey, life went on, and she never told anyone about that girl he liked so much, that he made sure to sneak in and dirty her chimney all over so he'd have an excuse to come back the next day. At least, until her husband got back from being away. Now, Pan had laughed at that. But now, she was far too busy acting as though she actually cared about girly things to let herself ruin it with a stray thought. Edited by Himesama, May 9 2011, 09:40 AM.

Colette Victors Oh for- Colette stayed tight-lipped as Pan poured out either a genuine breakdown or a volume of hogwash. For once, she couldn't tell if Pan was lying or not. Normally she was so good at spotting when Pan fooled Claire, but this time it looked genuine, but there was no way, no way that that little brat could be so willing to completely change- Maybe it was a plan? Reverse psychology, was Pan thinking she wouldn't go ahead with it if she wanted it? Or maybe she wanted to make her lower her guard around her? Or maybe it was something even more heinous- oh my, the girl did look somewhat adorable there on the floor-no. "Er," she stopped herself. No, on the chance that Pan was faking it, she could not allow herself to seem uncertain. She cleared her throat. "Pan, if you truly want to be a respectable young lady, you can be assured that I will try and help you, when not busy with work. And of course, you will have to stop playing around in such filthy places, I am afraid." Colette picked up Pan's vest and cap from the bin she'd put them, throwing them into the air. She fired her heat vision, eradicating the garments so utterly that not even ash fell to the ground. "And I am afraid you will have to stop wearing boys' clothes." Colette had to try and find a way of coping with the girl that could work for her whether she was lying or telling the truth. She recalled the proverb "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer" from that book "Art of War" she once read. Yes, maybe she could still turn this to her advantage. If Pan was lying, for now she'd play along. But she'd watch the girl like a hawk for any slip or chink. If Pan put a toe across the line, she'd give it the same treatment she'd given Pan's clothes. And if Pan was genuine, well then, maybe Colette had acquired a protege of sorts. She tried to quash the thoughts of how much she would have preferred that. "My bathroom is through there, Pan. The bath is already full, so you may strip and go in straight away. Since I'm not quite as covered in soot, I daresay I can clean myself up in the washbasin, then change my own clothes- and then I'll see about getting you that dress," Colette gave her fakest smile. She made a mental note to get a dress as feminine as she could find. And then add a few ribbons. After all, if Pan wasn't lying, she wouldn't mind. |

Alethea Alethea wandered off from Lady Claire throughout the rather large dining room where she sat in the big end chair. The room, still a bit dark with a glaze of a color from the sun beaming through the window curtains, was vacant. She picked up the silverware sitting on the table infront of her that was placed where it was for breakfest. "....Where is Mr. Mort?" she asked herself rhetorically trying to make herself seem less lonely. She used her powers to rise Mr. Mort from the floor where she had set him down when she entered and put him in the other end chair opposite of hers. She stared silently at the torn bear sitting at the table rather far away from herself for several moments. "A spot of tea you say? My dear Mr. Mort?" Alethea levitated an empty teapot pretending to pour actual tea into what supposedbly was her stuffed bear's teacup. Taking a pretend sip of her own 'cup of tea' Alethea stared at the bear. She put the tea cup back on the saucer. Staring. Suddenly, a drop of water dripped from her cheek into the empty cup. Without a word, Alethea launched several ceramic teacups and plates followed by various silverware and random objects found surrounding herself onto the bear across the table. Bursting into tears, she stopped. She stared at what she did. Guiltily. Sorry, Mommy. She sat in the chair once again dusting off her dress sophisticatedly. She stared at the bear. Stared. Squinting her eyes she made a face. "Mr. Moooort? You're rather filthy aren't you?". She removed herself from the chair and walked herself toward the bear. Dusting the broken ceramic and silverware off the stuffed animal leaving some minor cuts on her wee hand, she walked out the door in search of a bathing room. "After your bath let us go explore the outskirts, Mr. Mort!" |

Calista and Piare Ceres "Unpacking sure takes up a lot of energy and time, doesn't it, Caly?" asked Piare as she wiped sweat off her brow. "I believe that's only for us, sweet. It's because you refuse to leave your collection. So we have to drag it everywhere. If we didn't have that, we wouldn't be suffering at all!" Blushing, Piare ducked her head. "Well...they're really cute, and-" Calist ruffled her hair, smilng. "I know, sweet. We'll get some more next time, alright? I bet this place has more of a variety, yes? Now, I think we're almost done. Why don't we go out and take a walk? It'll be best to memorize this place." "Especially for you, Caly. Can you hold on? I want to change dresses, since we're going for a walk." "Alright, sweet. Hurry, yes?" "It's so pretty, isn't it? But it doesn't compare with the garden in Florence. It does have a variety of flowers, though." Piare bent down and picked a flower. Standing back up again, she kept on walking. "Really? The Florence garden was a bit too overpowered for me. It was probably the overgrown daisies. But this garden is simplistic and very nice." "Caly. How long are we going to stay here for?" Staring in surprise, Calista looked at Piare. "Do you not like the Shelter, sweet? It's a very nice place, I think. And it's perfect for people like us." Looking down at the ground, Piare locked her hands behind her back. "Caly. Your definition of long is a few weeks, maybe even a month or two." Looking straight at Calista, she smiled. "I do like this place. It's very homey, unlike some of the other places we've been. I want to stay here." "Oh, sweet. We'll stay here as long as we want, yes? The Shelter is always our home. Now, it's getting a little cold. Let's go back inside, alright?" |

Gabrielle. ''You got a point there. But maybe there's a good reason for it?'' Said the girl shrugging.''Well I don't need marriage to be happy out there, so I can still go out there and live happily, of course, only if the headmistress allows us to leave one day.'' She sighed looking around. This place ressembled a jail in that fact alone, you could not escape, or you might get in really serious trouble. Although it would be fun to escape. Wait, what was Gabrielle thinking? She should not do it. It wouldn't be proper, nor good. So all she had to do was be good for the time being. A shiver ran down her spine, she noticed just now, they were outside and it was cold. ''I guess I'll go inside. See you later'' Said the girl grinning and walking inside the shelter. ((Fail post is fail. I didn't know what much to write, Sorry. As for Claire, I'll write her post when I can think of what to do with her)) |

Luke Sven Sven watched as Gabrielle suddenly realized how cold it was and decided to go back in. He smirked, for really no reason, he just felt sort of....happy. Although to Gabrielle, it was uncomforable in this weather, Sven's output was exactly the opposite. He adored day like these, where the entire world seems perfect. He had grown used to the cold climate, quite often was it like that here. And really, his memories of the orphanage, his past, and really everything happened in the snow. But, the weather wasn't always agreeable, some days even he would get cold, and even his face would start to get red, and he would shiver. Sometimes he even got a cold! Well, no one is immune to the snow, he guesses. When it snows, and you first see it, after exiting a structure, or awakening, the entire world seems to have been covered with a blanket of white. Especially if you wake up early, and it's untouched, perfectly innocent. Yes, that's the right word to discribe snow, innocent. So white, so pretty, but oh so delicate. You see, on days where he wakes up early, and the world is covered in an innocent white blanket, Sven enjoys destroying the perfecting with his footprints. He wondered, should he follow Gabrielle? She looked terribly cold, and may have wanted to carry on with their conversation inside. No, hadn't she said 'See you Later'? Uh, no he would have to go to find someone to entertain him. Maybe another one of the children of the orphanange? ((sorry for the late post. I didn't know what to post.)) |
