Check back in the topic, Jody. There have been a few Elvis songs put on here. This is a fantastic thread and I'd like to personally thank Aitch for taking the time in putting on these old songs on here. Nostalgia over-load from me.

Aw, try to make time if you can lass. This music is from a time long before you were even thought about, and it's smashing stuff. You're probably too young to appreciate it really, like Aitch and I are probably too old to appreciate the modern music which you may enjoy, but give it a go at least.

I quite like older music. After all, i lived with my grandparents for 14 years and they are now in their late 60's, so it is their type of music and i always listened to it. I'll bet i know quite alot of the songs.

Ah, it's lovely stuff from the 50s Jody, but then as we come into the 60s, things do get different. Listen and learn how music changes. This thread is a sort of history of how music changed a lot of the way people lived their lives. Music is so important as you'll know yourself as a singer!

today's 4, and for anyone who hasn't seen this thread before, I have now included the first 3 at the start of the posts, back to these ,
this was the top for 4 weeks from the 8th Sept 1959

then this hope this is a sign of our weather picking up, just 1 week Oct 6th1959

and another of my favourite songs of that era, 2 weeks from Oct 13th 1959

and the lad again, the 92nd number 1, the start of the Brits inroads into the charts , this did 5 weeks at the top from Oct 27th 1959

a lot of these records I still have either as a 45, or on an album, still good to hear.

Here's today's 4 to bring the 100th British top 20 hit up, 97th was this from mar 1st for 2 weeks

this was a favourite one of mine at the time, still like it a lot mar 15th for 2 weeks

and then one of the most prolific recording artistes at the time, still have 2 discs with many of his hits on 4 weeks mar 29th

and the the 100th British number one, all in the space of 8 years, the first in Nov 1952 only for a week but still a milestone

enjoy them I certainly did, they bring back a lot of memories for me, I had forgotten half of them

4 for today, is this thread running out of steam, there doesn't seem to be many accessing the post, still here goes this did 7 weeks and was also one I liked a lot, still do if it comes to that

June 21st 1960, just 2 weeks

this stayed at the top for 3 weeks from Jul 5th,

Number 104 just one week at the top, July 26th 1960, but he was just getting into the swing of it, many more to come

I wonder if he looks at these and wonders where the time has gone, I know I do. !!! :D :chin:
