Yer not wrong there Charlie, These are the British Number ones from when the charts first started here, there is a number of earlier number ones, but only of lyric sheets sold, so the first was on Nov 11th 1952, im tryiing to put as many as I can on, the first couple where in another thread but Ive forgotten where , go back and enjoy them all, I have a list and info of the first 1000, so pin back yer lug holes and listen to some proper music :thumbs:

This is one of the best thread on any forum both young and old can appreciate the hits of yesteryear.

Never like Bill Hayley though and his rock around the clock. So if I was on Juke box Jury I am afraid I would have voted it a Miss

todays 3, a mixed bag, but still it takes all sorts, and 50odd years ago tastes where certainly different than now. imagine this being the number 1 today 3 weeks April 10th 1956

this was the top for 6 weeks from the 1st of May

then the late great Pat Boone with his first british number one 5 weeks june 12 1956

3 more to bring the total up to 50, first today is this 3 weeks July 12 th 1956

second one is this, August 7th 1956 for 6 weeks at number one

and lastly, sept 18th 1956 for 4 weeks was this

I hope these are being enjoyed , there doesnt seem much activity regarding whether they are being watched or not

I am enjoying listening to them Aitch. So as the last song say,s dont lay down your arms and surrender. It does seem to be playing a bit fast though. 78- instead of 45.. Mind you it could be 78

I'm loving all of these. Pat Boone was a special favourite of mine. :)

Every record I put on is an original recording, sorry if some seem a bit dated, but I think it would spoil the effect to have any records interfered with :nod:
