No, sorry girls, but once I've seen the film musical, I really don't want to see a modern parody on stage. If you were my age you'd understand that, but knowing me I'd sit and pick holes in a theatre production of a brilliant film! :E A stage performance may well be excellent, but I'd be comparing all the way through and I'm afraid Samantha Womack as Nellie Forbush for me would be tragic. Nellie Forbush was an American, not an East Ender! :sadno: Watch the original first. I suspect South Pacific will be on YouTube now as it's over 40 years old and not subject to copyright any longer. I could be wrong, but it's worth having a toot! |

I understand what you mean Jody, but if I saw Samantha Womack on stage in a musical, she'd still be Ronnie Mitchell to me. See what I mean. Bad casting. We have a Little Theatre in Wigan and I've been a few times, but it's been a few years since I went. It's an amateur theatre, but my stars the acting is superb. Nobody to go with now though, although I'd love to go again. Here. The 1958 version. Hope you watch it and enjoy it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58LAWTtMLis |

Forgot to post this last night. Yesterday my boyfriend came back from bristol (he went to exchange some clothes from a store) he gave me the bag so I could look at his new tops. I did and put the bag to the side and he said "is there nothing else in there?" I had a look and there were two tickets to the musical Chess that I wanted to go see :) never in a million years thought he would buy tickets to go watch a musical with me. I'm so happy, he said its an extra birthday treat for me, we go to watch it on the 2nd of march and my birthday is on the 8th. I really am spoilt with all his little treats and surprises. |
