The last time that I was in Wigan, we had difficulty finding somewhere that was a good place to go. So maybe next time I'm there, I can try one of the places mentioned. So for that, a thank you to everyone that has recommended somewhere. Its a bit of a trip, but one place that I can recommend is a restaurant called "The Moorings" at Anderton. Good food, good prices, and good service. |

There are quite a few good ones around the Wigan area, Bee. There's another one at Standish which is also excellent, but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it. It's right down past the old Bleach Works. I'll have a think. I remembered as soon as I hit the reply button! It's The Crown at Standish. |

If you mean the White Crow Mollie I wouldn't recommend it, but The Owls is okay. |

Sorry Charlie, I edited my last post as you were posting. :D The Owls at Standish is really nice, but it gets too packed and the waiting area is too small. It's shocking around Christmas time. |

The Crown is a place I've never been, it's down Bradley Lane. |

Just had a quick look online and this restaurant looks and sounds wonderful (not too expensive either). http://www.sofritorestaurant.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4 Here's the link if you fancy taking a look. |

Thanks Charlie. I couldn't remember the name of the road. I've only been to The Crown once, years ago, and it's really very nice indeed. |

It looks smashing there, but it is a bit expensive. Mind you, you're in Bath so I suppose the prices reflect the area and the fact that you're in the South of England. Edit: The menu looks very nice. :D |

my hubby hates going out for a meal because i am so picky  and if its not right it goes back, and sometimes i complain twice about the return meal if its not to my liking, in my opinion if you dont get what you order, its either cold or the steak is cooked wrong or its fatty, your paying so they should get it right |

Mollie the link is for a restaurant in Wigan, the set menu isn't too expensive but if choosing from the normal menu though would probably be quite pricey. |
