On my way home from work tonight, I went the long way around as had to drop something off to a friend in town. Anyway, 5 or so cars infront of me, a girl had ran out to cross the road, and was hit by an oncoming car. I didn't see her get hit by the car, but i heard the screeching of the tyres. Loads of people were gathering around and calling police and ambulance. Police were there in about 30 seconds as the station is about 200 yards from the accident. We were all told to get back into our cars and disperse as they had to get the ambulance down there and then obviously shut the road off. We had to go the other way around the roundabout once enough police were there to take control of the traffic. I saw the girls body on the road as i drove off. I feel sick to my stomach now, and a bit shaken. My dad found out that the girl died. No doubt it will be all over the newspapers and probably local news tomorrow. :( |

Oh Jody that is a terrible thing to witness. Even though you didn't actually see the car hit her, you were still there at that moment in time. How awful for the poor girl, and for the driver who hit her as well. :(( |

That's the first thing that came to my mind...the poor driver is going to have it on their conscience for the rest of their life. |

If the girl ran out in front of the car, then the driver was hopefully not at fault, but he or she will be left with the memory of killing someone accidentally. How old was the girl, Jody? My brother has a friend and years ago the friend's wife was backing her car out. She'd checked behind her car first and moved a toy her little brother had left there. She got back into her car but on backing out ran over something. She thought it was another toy that she'd missed and when she looked, she'd run her car over her little brother who'd come back out to play, and he'd died immediately. Living with something like that would haunt a person for the rest of their lives, even if it was an accident. :(( |

Well my dad said she was around my age. He's a taxi driver, and is out working tonight. He always manages to find out the information. It's bound to be inthe newspapers and stuff, so i'll find out more then. |
