Well tonight, i went to a friends house, and on her doorstep was what i thought her cat. This cat was literally identical and was fussing up to me, i stroked it, and it was purring...Then i picked it up, and the begger of a thing attacked me. I have a cut by my eye, on my hand, and on my cheek...It has also scatched the white of my eye in the corner. Now i have to have antibiotics and eye drops. I normally quite like cats, but honestly, now, i never want to see one ever again. I will put up pics of the damage when my phone has a bit of charge in it. |

Oh Jody love that is truly awful. As you know I was the victim of a cat attack just over 18 months ago. He was vicious, but has settled down here now and is happy and contented. I am NOT defending the cat but, if it was a pregnant female, that could account for the attack. I see loads of cats knocking around, but I'd never think of picking one up that I didn't know. Stroke yes, pick up, no. Were you attacked with teeth or claws? I can perfectly understand your lack of trust in them now though. That's a dreadful story, and it must have been really frightening. You've seen the photos of what Billie did to me, so I am truly sympathetic towards you. :( |

I wouldn't normally pick up a cat i didn't know Mollie, but as i said, i thought it was my friends one as it was identical, but as soon as she opened the door, her cat came running out...it was her neighbours cat, and apparently he had attacked my mates little boy, who is 5 years old, just before christmas. |

Then there's something definitely wrong with that cat, Jody. Cats are normally quite shy and don't attack for no reason unless they feel threatened. Perhaps that cat was like my Billie, and not being treated very well. That doesn't excuse the cat for attacking you though. Are you up to date with your ATS injections? |

Yeah, the doctor checked all that Mollie. I have 3 bad scratches on my face and a few small ones....going to look like a bit of an idiot in photos on sunday at my god daughter christening. It's really annoyed me. |

I am so sorry the cat got your face, lass. Mine was just my left arm and hand, but I couldn't use my hand properly for well over a week as it was so painful, so I do know how it feels. It's the shock as well that doesn't help. I'm also sorry to hear that the cat attacked your mate's child as well. Does her neighbour have kiddies? I only ask because kids are well-known for tormenting animals without realising they're doing it. Regardless of that though, your friend should have had a go at her neighbour and, quite honestly, if it's known that a child has been attacked in a vicious way by ANY animal, it should be reported. When Billie attacked me I was advised to have the cat put down, but it wasn't my cat so I didn't have that right, and I didn't know exactly where he lived so couldn't challenge the neighbour. You've had a terrible shock, but try not to judge all cats the same way. I'm sure your friend's cat is a sweetheart. |

Hope you find it Jody. Don't feel that you have to put personal photos in here though unless you feel comfortable. Photo Album and Members' Only are strictly private for registered members and not for viewing by the general public. I hope your cuts heal very quickly. I'm assuming it was claws rather than teeth. |
