Last week when we stayed in Blackpool we had a drive into Cleveleys and called in The Regal for a brochure and a drink. Yesterday I took my daughter to Blackpool for a overnight stay and today I went back to pick her and hubby up with the Grand-kids we had the kids overnight while my daughter had a break. We decided to go into Cleveleys for our dinner and take another look in The Regal for a break in September.

Sounds like a plan. Cleveleys is pretty quiet compared to Blackpool, and I prefer Cleveleys if I'm honest. There's a place there called Fiddler's Wharf. Not the one at Rufford. We found it by accident on an afternoon trip out, but it's a nice walk out onto a pier type thing with an arcade at the bottom. There's a cafe/restaurant there which is old railway carriages and little shops. There's also a pub there and when we went on the Sunday they had live music on. Really nice.

Three very good Clubs in Cleveleys The Working men's The EX Service men's and The Legion Also a Wetherspoons. Some cheap booze in them Clubs compared to Blackpool Clubs. Mind you we found a very cheap and cheerful little Club in Blackpool called The Loco Club. Also The Hotels and Apartments Club in Coronation St. Trevor Wallace and Mike Dennet and Chick where on at the H & A. Very funny and a good night.

A lot of steep hills in Stockport Pam but there are some good pubs

Have you ever been to Fiddler's Wharf, Loki?

Pam, Southport is about 20 miles from Wigan, and Blackpool/Cleveleys is around 35/40 miles away, so only an hour, not allowing for back-up of traffic.

No, it's definitely Fiddler's Wharf. I only remember it because we also went to Fiddler's Wharf at Rufford just a couple of weeks previously. It's on the beach side of the road leading out to the sea. I'm sure anybody in Cleveleys would know of it. Fiddler's Ferry is on or near the Mersey. :D
