16th

It's the day that Amy must sign the adoption papers, but she and Pollard are baffled by Val's breezy attitude. Amy is clearly feeling worried about the day ahead, while Pollard is not convinced by Val's sincerity as she tells the troubled teenager that she wants what's best for her. Val stays with Amy when Lydia and Kath arrive with the papers, comforting her as she's about to sign. However, Amy wants Val to leave when she tries to change her mind.

Val is then heartbroken when she sees Amy sign. Soon afterwards, Amy worries that Pollard and Val may split up. Pollard tries to insist that they won't, but it's clear even he is not convinced. Amy then makes an announcement, telling them that she is moving into David's. Val is gutted and verbally lashes out at Amy, while Pollard is disgusted by his wife's attitude.

Meanwhile, Sarah is upset that she's not allowed on the school trip. Jacob feigns an illness so he doesn't have to go either, and while Debbie is distracted, he sneaks off with Sarah. Debbie panics that Sarah has gone and blames Alicia. Later, Alicia feels bad as Sarah returns covered in mud and Debbie thinks Jacob might have pushed her, leading to more bickering between the two women.

Elsewhere, Brenda suggests that Rodney should get a job at the café but he turns it down, Hazel is comforted by Aaron's presence as she talks to him, while Katie is clearly happy with Declan and Chas wonders if she regrets turning down his proposal.

Rodney is having a difficult time and things get worse when the police arrive to question him about a serious accident. Rodney asks to speak to a solicitor when he's questioned about hitting a cyclist. The net tightens when he hears that it's an offence that carries a prison sentence. Rodney is furious, threatening to take Carl down with him if he gets sent to jail.

At the same time, Nicola nags Carl to give Rodney more work. However, she soon becomes suspicious of Carl when he won't admit where Rodney is.

Meanwhile, Aaron is feeling the pressure, still desperate to know why Cain lied about who attacked him. As the pair argue, Cain tells Aaron that they've all done things they're not proud of and he should get over it. Aaron is still troubled and confides in Hazel, who later suggests to Zak that she will handle Aaron from now on.

Elsewhere, Val knows reconciliation between her and Amy is unlikely after trying to talk to her, Sandy falls over drunk at the B&B, while Debbie worries things might be going too far when Andy arrives and affectionately squeezes her hand, assuring her that no-one will find out about what happened between them.

Carl is anxious as Nicola's suspicions mount after Rodney lets her down. Rodney challenges Carl, explaining that he wants to tell the police the truth. When Jimmy returns, he too is suspicious of Carl and Rodney's dealings, telling Nicola about them looking shifty earlier.

Carl tries to assuage the situation by offering Rodney his job back, but Rodney holds Carl to ransom - demanding cash or he'll drop him in it.

Meanwhile, Hazel breaks the news to Bob that she thinks it might be the right time for her to move on. Bob is worried when he realises that she's thinking of leaving and taking Aaron with her. Later, Hazel is concerned for Aaron when he tells her that he has to play happy families for Zak's 60th knowing he still can't face him.

Elsewhere, Sandy is ousted from the B&B and sent home as he was causing them too many problems, Lisa feels reluctant over celebrating Zak's birthday but Chas is insistent over the idea, while Ruby feels guilty spending money on presents for Ali when Ali expresses her worries about their financial situation

19th

Ashley tells Sandy and Edna that the bishop wants to meet him. Sandy hopes it's not about the impending move, while Laurel struggles not to argue with Ashley over Sandy not wanting to go with them. Soon afterwards, Laurel is proud to hear that Ashley has got the job but it does mean moving. Sandy seems devastated and Edna is concerned when Ashley tells her that Sandy will be staying on in the village.

When Nicola hears about the move, she is also concerned, but Laurel has other worries when she rushes out of Nicola's house, feeling nauseous. She begins to panic that she might be pregnant…

Meanwhile, Carl feels threatened as Rodney heads off to see his solicitor, dressed in a suit. At the same time, Jimmy is still suspicious over why Carl has re-employed Rodney. Later, Brenda is confused when Rodney lies to Carl that it didn't go well with his solicitor. Rodney seems pleased with himself as he insists to Brenda that, although he had some trouble with a speeding ticket, he'll just get a fine.

Elsewhere, Ali and Ruby have money worries, Sean is taken aback when Sam makes the suggestion of him shooting a rabbit for his tea, Bob is still concerned about Hazel wanting to take Aaron with her, Zak dreads it when Lisa makes a fuss of him for his birthday and tells him there's a party, while Nikhil is paranoid about eating the cake at the celebration

part 2

Laurel is happy, believing this could be a new start as she rushes to get a pregnancy test. Ashley is shocked when Laurel shows him she has a pregnancy test kit, and it's not the reaction she had hoped for. Laurel is devastated when she realises that Ashley thinks it could be Marlon's. As Laurel goes upstairs to do the test, Ashley is left feeling a multitude of emotions.

In the bathroom, Laurel looks at the test result, realising that her marriage is in crisis. Ashley can barely conceal his relief when she tells him that it was a false alarm and she's not expecting a baby. Ashley is then left devastated when Laurel says they should split up and leaves.

Meanwhile, Chas is unimpressed when Aaron walks out of Zak's party. Later, however, there's a moment between Zak and Aaron and the pair shake hands in a truce.

Elsewhere, Amelia is upset when Sean brings home a dead rabbit, Gennie plans for Nikhil to move in permanently, while Carl is forced to agree to Rodney's terms when he threatens to tell the police the truth.

20th

Laurel has not come home and Ashley tries not to lose his patience as he gets the kids ready for school, while Sandy is worried that Ashley doesn't know where his wife is. It turns out that Laurel has stayed at Nicola's, and Jimmy and Carl are curious to know if she has left Ashley. At the same time, Ashley partly blames Sandy for Laurel's departure and tells him that he will have to explain it to the children.

Later, Nicola is saddened when Laurel tells her that she thinks it might be time to accept that it's over with Ashley. Nicola visits Ashley wanting to help him save his marriage, explaining that he must forgive Laurel if he doesn't want to lose his family.

Meanwhile, Belle is intrigued to find Sean waiting for her at the bus stop, and he takes her to the cricket pavilion - where he has carved their names. Belle is touched, giving him a scarf, and Sean kisses her.

Elsewhere, Nicola takes Ali to task over the state of Brook Cottage, Nikhil is shocked when Gennie asks him to move in and she tries to hide her hurt from his reaction, while Hazel tells Aaron of her plans and sees he too could have the travel bug
