This story goes back to 2008. The hoteliers who refused to allow a gay couple to share a double room - which they had booked in advance - have had their appeal turned down and now have to pay compensation to the couple.

They apparently said they could stay but would have to take two single rooms......................they were legally married for goodness sake. I can't help wondering why these people are in this kind of business if they are so intolerant of other people's way of life. I don't think they had the right to do this and I'm glad their appeal was turned down. This couple were wronged and should be protected from prejudice like this. Good on them and the hoteliers got what they deserved in my opinion.
